Just a random idea, could have a page for brief journal descriptions. No comments but these descriptions, but it could help people get to know each other better and see who's journal they would enjoy. Could even have a separate one per alphabetized folder.

I figured the members would post them when they posted their journals. Only upkeep it may need is to weed out old/inactive ones and enforcing the only summary comment rule

If you don't like the idea that's fine... Just figured it could be useful. And they would be really brief descriptions. It would be kind of like reading the book description before deciding if you want to read it.

Anyway, I actually came here with a question today. Are we free to change the title of our journals whenever we want to? Or is it best to avoid that? Like I'll keep it in the same folder and have my name somewhere in it but if my mood changes or the general theme of it or I just want a fresh name, is that ok?

You can change your name to anything you want as long as you can identify it as your own
Ex: Ten people shouldn't have "My Journal".
Just make sure that if you are changing the title and the first letter is changing, put it in it's appropriate folder.

Mkay. I have mine in the folder that fits with Lynx and figure it'll have my name in there somewhere no matter what it changes to that way it'll stay in the same folder. That ok? It's not by first letter but it's by what will always be in the title for easier identification

You can have Lynx in it for better identification of course. But also be aware of the first letter.

Ex:
- Lynx's Words & Ideas would go in the folder that contains L journals
- The Stories of Lynx would go into the folder that contains T journals.

Didn't it use to be sorted by AUthor name? I thought that was easier. When they switched it, it kinda made it harder to find ppl's journals imo.

That's what I had been thinking with picking L for my folder.... Seems to make more sense because you'd be looking for it by the author name more than anything else

Yeah I'm not sure why they switched it, though it might be because a lot of the journals don't include the person's name.

Plus, people change their names at times too. It's easier for it to all be in order according to title.

No one looks for a particular person. They look first for a catchy title.

I've been a member of this group since it was first made, and I'm pretty sure it was never sorted by author's name. At the very first there was just a folder for journals, and then when more members joined the head moderator decided to alphabetize it and it was by the title of the thread, not the author's name.

That's when it makes more sense to search for the author, especially if it's someone who is constantly changing their title. *shrugs* One half dozen or the other...

random question, but when people click on a journal to read it do you guys generally find yourself jumping to most recent or skimming the first page/reading first few comments? Trying to decide if I want to edit my first post or not if it'll fit more with what I'm debating about switching the name to. Cause my journal probably doesn't make much sense if the first few comments aren't read. I dunno. Maybe I'll skim through it later and work it out. Anyway, yeah. So what do you usually read first when picking a new journal to read?

Depends on the person, how long the post is, how many pages in, and how I'm feeling.

Lynx - 9 times out of 10 I jump to the most recent. I might skim the first few post and then jump ahead.
