§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments A smirk pulled across his lips, "I told you, of age." he answered simply then took her hand. "Come on, we'll start from the bottom up." He took her all the way back to the main foyer.
Along the way, a fat cat trotted out of one of the rooms and trailed along behind them. It purred very loudly and it's tail stud right up, its mouth and whiskers almost giving a merry smile.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She looked at him curious. "So what is of age?" She asked. Was it that song she heard. "So are you 27?" She asked in a small voice. The song how did she hear that. Something was weird was going on. Her small hope of being with him went down. "I'm sorry for being curious." She paused,"I don't talk much around people."

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse was stuck with intrigue, "No it's alright. And well-" he glanced down at himself, "Yeah, that's about my age. I'd show you the garden, though it's raining an awful lot. If the weather is better tomorrow, I'm sure Gale would take great appreciation if you'd allow him to usher you around outside." He turned back to the main staircase.
"Anyway, as you can see- This place is as old as dirt."
Oh no. That was weird. Maybe she's just great at guessing.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "Oh." So how come she heard his age. She heard a song. She was sure she heard that song. "Yeah it is but it is nice." She knew she would never be able to have him. The hope was gone. She thought he was cute. "Your the first person I talk to in awhile. You can always call me Lilly that's what my brother calls me." She smiled some.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse turned his head, smiling down at her. "Ok, Lilly. Library to the left, picture hall to the right. You choose." He stud as casually as possible with his hands in his pockets.
Maybe that came across to strong. I am a bit old for her though. Ha! That's never stopped me before though. But she seems kind of fragile. I hope I didn't hurt her feelings.
Nah, she let me use her cute nickname. Keeping it steady I think is all I have to do now. She's living here now anyway, so maybe she won't mess this up for me.

(How are you about cussing?)

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments ((I don't mind it but I won't use it))

"Um the picture hall on the right." She said with a smile. "It's nice to talk to someone. I said so many words today than I normally do in a year." She thought for a while. "I'm sorry about my brother he probably is jealous or upset or over protective." She paused."All of them probably." She looked at him."Do I talk to much?"

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse smiled walking and listening as she spoke, keeping his hands in his pockets as they walked into the picture hall.
"Your brother I'm sure is a fine chap." He said then looked back at her as she asked him a question. He turned his head slowly, looking ahead. "Hm,"
He thought about it for a moment.
Stella had always been very proper when she spoke, and always had a sort of loving, nurturing tone.
Gale's voice was still breaking, but he was happy to talk to anyone. He was also a fantastic listener.
"Who did you want me to compare you too?" he blurted.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "I don't know. I don't think I talk too much. I never talk at all so maybe it's good to talk once in awhile right?" She asked then looked around. "It's some house you got here." She smiled. Why did she feel like she had to talk around him. Other times he didn't talk around people no matter what. He was cute and she didn't have her brother to talk to. "Is it all ways nice to talk?" She asked looking around.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse stopped, walking over to one of the painting. He reached out and slid his finger down the frame carefully, "Well," he pulled his hand away and smooth the fine dust between his finger and his thumb. "Not always." he answered.
His lips tightened as he looked at the dust between his fingers, watching the little clumps drift slowly down to the floor and from his fingers. "Sometimes, it can be a real load off the chest. Then other times, it will swell inside you. A lie you'd wish you'd never repeat. Or a promise you may never keep."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She looked up at him and smile. He was cute. He was way too old for her. She's trying not to make an impression. But she wants to. She likes him as a friend but wants more. She looked at the picture. She thought about the lies her parents told her. What other kids told her and called her. She paused. "Your nice friend I don't have many friends." She looked at him. "I don't talk to much people except my brother. "

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse turned to her with a faint smile, "You know, this house was built around the 1700s. Right when witch hunting was real popular."
He steered in the other direction, noting really having anything to say to that.
This girl is really going on about the not talking thing. He thought blandly.
"Back then, if you were even accused of witchcraft, they'd torture you till you admitted to the act, ever if you didn't do it." He fiddled his fingers a little, getting the rest of the dust off and stuck his hand back in his pocket. "Almost anywhere you go around here, someone will tell you about the curse of the witch. Some hoodoo someone made up some way back when. But back in the woods, behind the house, we have a gallows and a pole they'd tie people to, then whip them till they admitted to their sins."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She leaned forward captive by the story. She was interested by the story. Then she paused from her thoughts. She realize all she talks about the how she doesn't talk. She never had anything to talk about. She realized. She felt sad. She was being a burden to him. She sighed knowing this is what she wasn't suppose to do is talk. She stopped talking and only nodded her head when he ask a question.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse watched her carefully, thinking he may have upsetted her. He took a step forward and reached out tilting up her chin, "Hey are you alright?" he asked.
Though it'd only been a little less than an hour, he couldn't help but care for her. Not in the lustrous way of wanting to be with her or anything really intimate. But the quiet girls always had a way to his heart. And hurting the poor girl was the very last thing he was looking to do.

Outside of Danny's door came a little pitterpatter of small feet. After a moment of silence there was a soft knock at his door and a small giggle.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She looked up and nodded her head yes. She just became the girl she has always been the quite one. She didn't say a word. She had nothing to talk about. She felt bad that all she talks about is about talking. She doesn't want to upset anybody.

"Yes." Danny perked his head up at the noise. He heard the knock. He waited for them to answer. He hoped his sister was ok.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments "Ok." Jesse said carefully, then let his hand down. "Come on," he motioned his head further down the wall, "I'll show you to the study. There's lots of cool stuff in there." He smiled and led her down the hall, stopping if she got caught on a picture or he wanted to look at something.
Stopping her pointed to a painting. It was a dead forest with gallows and an uninhabited noose. "That's what it looks like." he purred.

The door nob clicked and a short person poked their head through the door with a little giggle. "Hi there!" she said sweetly. "Are you our new butler?" Her brown curled flopped off her shoulder and hung down, almost to the floor. She was maybe 6 or 7.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She nodded her head. She was hoping he know that she was interested in it. It has been actually 10mins send she said anything and she didn't care if she ever spoke again. She didn't want to say anything ever again. Words hurt her a lot because she has nothing to talk about. She looked at him and smiled. She waited for more words to come out of his mouth.

"Yes I am." He smiled at the little girl."what's your name?" He asked softly. He hoped his sister was alright. If he ever did anything to hurt her. He looked at the little girl. She looked like 6-8 years. She was cute little girl. Remember him of his sister.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse smiled at the painting for a moment, then looked over his shoulder at her and motioned his head to the door. "Come along."
He walked with her to the study. A roaring fireplace burnt to their right. Stuffed skins danced all around the room. Bookshelves lined every wall, crammed with books and jars of various things.

She stepped into the doorway with her hands behind her back. "My name is Billie. What's yours?" She wore a little plaid dress that went a little above her knees. She wore black stalkings and a ribbon tied around her head. Her eyes sparkled a fantastic blue, just like her brother's.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She nodded her head. Staying far behind but not staying too far. She liked the quite in her head. It gave her time to think about what to do. She felt like she did an mistake of talking. That she should of never talked to him in the first place. She looked around in the place to see things. She nodded her head to show that she liked the things. She felt like curling up into a ball and crying. Why talk when no listens? Why talk when no one cares? Why talk when you do talk people don't like it? Why does everyone one want her to talk. She shouldn't of said a word to him.

"Hi Billie" he said with a smile. "My name is Danny." He paused and smiled ."nice to meet you." She was the cutest little kid he ever saw. Second to his sister. He hoped she as alright. Why did he kept thinking about her?

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse frowned ever so faintly, thinking as he moved around the room pointing out things.
Oh man, I really think I made her upset. Then again, maybe she's just real shy at first. I don't want to press down on her or anything. Yeah, she's just shy. I'll leave her be. There's no point in making her talk if she feels uncomfortable doing it.
He thought carefully, deciding it was best not to say anything and go on with showing her around.

Billie tilted her eyes ever so slightly, "Are you ok, mister?" she asked softly.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She had a question to ask."may I go back to my room." She whispered quietly. She was very bad company in her mind. She already thought she talked to much about talking. You would think of being quite for so long you would have so much to say,but she didn't. She didn't want to be classified as annoying.

"Yeah just thinking about my lil'sis." He said with a smile. He was worried about her.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse looked over at her and gave a slight nod, "Yeah. Come along." He led her back upstairs and took her room. He blinked looking over and saw Danny's door a bit open. He then tense hearing his sister's voice and stepped in quickly. He came up and scooped her up quickly, "Billie, what are you doing bothering this poor man." he grumbled and nibbled on her neck.
She gave a soft squeal and wiggled happily, laughing and giggling as he nibbled on her ticklish spot.
He purred looked at Danny and gave him a small nod, "Sorry,"

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She went into her room and sat and stared. She locked the door. She curled up in the bed. She started to cry. She couldn't hold it in. She made the mistake of coming here. Her stupid idea. She didn't know she was going to talk to a cute stranger. Then end up making a mistake of having nothing to talk about.

"No it's fine sometimes I wish my sister would talks as much as did. " he sighed. "I don't mind it at times. But sometimes I want to scream at her. I just want to know if she's there."

She heard his words. That made her hurt. She thought he didn't mind is she didn't talk. Her eyes were watery.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse's lips tightened, "Yeah... ok." he turned and carried Billie out.
Ok, maybe these people aren't so great. Goodness, I hope this whole shy things blows off. Oh well, I'm sure they'll work something out. Valentine I'm sure will loosen them up. I wonder when he's getting back? Tomorrow I think is what Stella said. I hope it's not raining by then. I wonder if that girl reads? She was acting like she had nothing to say. I'm sure she does she just doesn't know what. Meh~ Hopefully she'll get out of the habit of talking about talking. Honestly.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She cried herself to sleep. She had no choice but to talk to him. Her brother was there to talk for her. They would just have to get used to her not talking. She had nothing to say. She had plenty to say. She didn't want to talk it saved her pain and heartbreak before. She fell into a sleep.

Danny closed his eyes. He stretch a bit and went to sleep. He hoped his sister was ok. He yawned and then fell asleep.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Everyone headed to bed as the house fell quiet. All was still as the night crawled by.

As the morning came, Gale was up bright and early, greeting the sun with excitement. Only to run outside and splash in a mucky puddle. A frown pulled across his face, stepping out of the puddle carefully. Spinning on his heels, he looked at the beautiful garden and grinned. The garden was his absolute favorite place to be.

Danny woke to something rubbing tenderly against his face.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She opened her eyes. They weren't puffy. She got ready and sighed. She put a pair jeans on a shirt. She got her sneakers on. She walked over to her brothers room waiting.

He opened his eyes. Something was touching him. He couldn't see what it was. He let a yelp out.

She opened the door. She shook her head. She picked up the cat. "Your afraid of cat." She whispered. Holding back an laugh. She pet the cat.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments It jumped and arched it's back with a startled
rrrrrrrrrrrrarrrrrrrrrrrrr
Then as Lillian picked it up, if began to purr vibrantly. "Helllllllllllo." He purred. His voice golden and smooth like you'd hear from the narrator of an audio book. His eyes gleamed a mucky yellow, like an old lemon.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She gulped it talked. Talking cat. She wasn't going to say anything. She nodded her head in response. She smiled at the cat and smoothed it's head. She was holding back the laugh.

He rolled his eyes. Then he thought he heard a voice. "Stop trying to fool me Lilly I know your trying to get me believe that the cat talked." She shook her head no. She shrugged her shoulders. "Being quite today I see." She frowned.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments He pawed at her face, smooshing her cheeks together and pulled himself closer. "Uh. Yeah. Here we go." he muttered and licked her bottom lip. "D-don't talk." he muttered between wetting her lower lip. He continued pawing at her and trying to get closer. "Wait. Don't move." one of his claws got stuck in her hair, and in the process of getting himself closer he head butted her in the cheek. "Sorry." he grumbled then started chewing on her bottom lip. Literally going
OMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
His whiskers tickled her nose and her ear here and there, still pawing at her face and neck.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments (sorry had to make some edits)

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She dropped the cat and ran into her room. She locked the door and tried to get that out. The cat kissed her.She was horrified. She wasn't staying no no no. She didn't care. She didn't car how much this job paid she wasn't staying.

"Please don't do that again to her. She doesn't to that kind of things she doesn't talk much ok. I don't need her going into panic mode and not talk at all." He said yelling at the cat.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments He jumped back with a hiss towards Danny, his tail puffed up and up strait. "Oy! I didn't mean to scare her!" he snapped then bolted out quickly.
Stella blinked as she stepped down the hall and the cat raced between her feet. She stepped over beside Danny's door and gave a gently knock, "Hey, is everything going alright in there?" she asked softly.
It dawned on her that maybe these people didn't want to stay. Her chest grew heavy at the thought of these people feeling unwelcome. They'd already had so many people come in then leave without even meeting the whole family.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "No that cat just kissed my sister." He said. "My sister won't talk now. She never did anyways."

She went into the the bathroom and locked the door. She didn't cry. She just stared. She was afraid of the cat. It kissed her. She wanted to puke. She didn't sign up for this.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Stella bit her lip, holding back a laugh, "He's just in heat. I'm sure he found her quite pretty." She covered her mouth thinking for a moment. "So, em. Does this mean yea' don't want the job then?" She asked hesitantly and crossed her fingers.

(Goodness. :( I didn't mean for Lillian to get so bent out of shape.)

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "I don't care. I want the job but my sister.let me go talk to her. " he said. He walked to the door and picked the lock. "Hey Lilly don't worry it's alright I know you don't like new people and new things but you have to get used to it. Ok I think we should stay and I'm your legal guardian so were staying." He whispered. She nodded her head. "We decided to stay. My sister will need some warming up to."

((She needs to get out more))

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Stella staid in the hall and nodded slightly hearing his words. "Alright. Come downstairs to the dining room when you're hungry for breakfast." She said then turned on her heels and walked out, closing the door at the bottom of the steps that led up to her personal hall. She glanced out the window, seeing Gale making a wreck in the garden. She gave a small sigh then rushed outside.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments He nodded. "Lilly come down to breakfast when your ready." No answer came. He went downstairs."Good morning." He whispered. He smiled. He was worried about his sister. He should of left her some where. He didn't have no place she would go. He sighed at the though of that. He hoped this would be a good experience for her.

She locked the doors and went back to the bathroom and kept listening to the quite.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments At the dining table, sat Billie, Jesse, Stella, and a muddy Gale, all eating happily. The cat sat on the table as well, licking from a causer of milk. A couple of seats were open next to where the others sat, open for Danny and Lillian.
The man of the house didn't seem to have arrived yet. This couldn't be decided as a good thing or a bad thing yet.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments He sat down at the chair provided for him. "My sister won't be joining us." He whispered sad. He was sad because she never talked. That she thinks not talking will solve everything. She knows it don't. He slowly ate his breakfast.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Stella walked over and poured him a cup of coffee. She frowned, seeing the sorrow in his eyes, "I'm sorry dear. Yea' wouldn't like me to go up and talk to her would yea'?" she offered politely.
She figured he'd say no, and she hated to intrude. But at this point, she thought the one needing real comfort at this point was him. His sister sure may be shy, but all she really needed was some tough love.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "You can go talk but she won't answer." He sighed again and smiled. He ate his breakfast. "She was talking fine yesterday. Then she came back from the tour and the incident that happened this morning didn't put her in the talking mood."

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Stella looked off towards the stairs up, "I'll have her down in a bit." She slipped her hand along Danny's shoulders then headed upstairs.
Gale piped up the moment Stella left the room, "Where are you from?" he asked curiously. Billie lifted her big eyes and watched the two with the same spark of curiosity.
Jesse looked much to groggy, sitting in hos chair with a cup of coffee to realize anything that was going on around him.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "Were from the city." He said. He paused. "Jesse my sister said feels sorry for talking too much I think so yeah." He didn't want her feeling bad for taking to too much.

She looked kept staring. She want going to speak, no one can make her.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Jesse lifted his head, "Hu? She barely talked at all. Only for a minute or two. And all she walked about was not talking." He shifted a little gripping the cup with both hands, grumbled softly, "I'll tell her myself."
Gale shivered, "The city?! What's it like?!" he asked excitably.
Billie wiggled vibrantly listening to Gale and the man.

Stella walked up the steps and knocked on Lillian's door carefully.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments He looked at him."Oh." He paused and looked at Gale. "Its beautiful it really is but sometimes it's nice to break away." He smiled then finish eating his breakfast.

She didn't want to see anyone. She found a piece of paper and wrote. Go away please She slid under the door for the person who was standing there to see. She wasn't going to talk anymore. She would never talk again. She knew she mad Jesse mad because all she talked about was talking. She never knew that her brother didn't like her not talking. She didn't know a cat could kiss. She wanted to go home. This was too much new for her.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Billie wiggled excitably and gulped down her food, "That's where Valentine works! He's really good!" she exclaimed. She snorted with a faint snickered, "W-why would you leave the city to come way out here? What are you out here for again?"

Stella glanced down at the note, picking it up and stuffed it in her shirt. She began to hum sweetly then casually slipped an old fashioned key under the door. It slid across the floor and nudged Lillian's foot. Stella smiled humming happily and walked out.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "We had to leave the city. There was no where for us to go. We're here for the job offer. My sister picked it out. She likes kids either though she is terribly shy." He said. He wished his sister would talk like that. "This is really good." He smiled.

She glanced at that key. She went back in to sitting on the floor. She felt bad. She chose the wrong job. This wasn't the place for her. Too many new people. Too many new things. She thought at the bright side of things. She did meant a new cute boy. Though she made a bad impression on him. She sighed.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments "Who cooked this morning?" Jesse asked blandly, taking a sip of coffee.
"Me and Stella." Gale hooted.
"I helped too!" Billie snapped.
"You squeezed the oranges, that's not cooking." Gale protested.
Jesse took another sip of coffee, blinking slowly, "The food is delicious and the orange juice is lovely. You both did extravagantly." he said flatly.
Billie giggled, hopping out of her seat and ran over, throwing her arms around Jesse.
Gale focused back on Danny with interest, "You're old. Do you have a family, or are you apart of our family now?" He flashed Danny a big expecting grin.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "I'm not old. I'm 25." He said trying to sound offended. "No I don't have a family but my sister." He whispered. "I do have a aunt. She was one of those ladies who believe that ladies should learn how to cook and sew and be proper. My sister wasn't suppose to come but she begged me not to let her stay there. I wasn't going to let her feel uncomfortable at our aunts house." He simply said.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gale laughed a little, "Poor Billie, you'll never be a lady when all you can do is squeeze oranges. Ladies cook and sow."
Billie squirmed angrily, "That's called cooking too!"
Jesse gave a groggy grumble, taking a sip of his coffee, "It was lovely." he murmured.
Gale laughed faintly, looking back at Danny, "Will she ever come out of that room of hers? Stella said she would be working as a maid. I don't know how she'll get anything done in there." he said thoughtfully.
