Indeed! And I voted for the Recognitions since I'm halfway through it after almost 4 months. It's slow going but brilliantly written

No problem! It is fun bringing readers together and taking on these book lists. Thanks to Justin for starting the group and letting me help out.
Last I checked we had about 20 votes, but 92 group members. I hope to see a majority vote on this one!
Thanks to all who have voted so far!

I already forgot what I voted for! There were some great ones on the poll.

From what I've seen in other groups, 20 votes from 92 members is really quite good. Kudos and thanks.

Yes, very true, but a man can dream! :)

I would vote.. But I can't commit to anything with school starting this month. I'd feel awful if my vote tipped the scales and I didn't even participate in the read.

No problem. It was a great idea and it has motivated me to read some books I have always thought I should read. I wanted to help keep the dream alive!

To that I say "hogwash!" (mainly because I have always wanted to use that word).
Vote away! Read if you can! No worries if you can't - it's just for fun. If anyone gives you grief, they with have to deal with me (because, yeah, I am all big and tough and everything).

Oh man... I was going to give you grief, but I am extremely intimidated to even make an attempt now.

Check out my comment in the poll. I am thinking of removing the one vote and less books from the running. Let me know what you think.

If you didn't see the discussion taking place on the poll itself, if you voted for one of the books that is far behind in the poll, feel free to change your vote to one of the top 4 if you would like to help break the dead lock!
I thought about reducing it to the top 4, but I don't want people who voted for the others to think that their votes don't matter!

It has been a while since we have had a vote come in so I think I am ready to declare a winner . . . and a compromise!
From October through December 2015 we will be reading Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
From January through March 2016 we will be reading War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.
I think this is a pretty good compromise and will give us some good variety on our BIG reads!

Sounds good to me too. I want to try to join in for both of them. I read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell when I was a freshman in high school, so I barely remember it, but I do remember it being good.
