Lesliehenry | 6 comments A colleague is looking for a picture book title about a boy who lives in a society where words are scarce. He collects them, then gives them to a girl he likes. The book is NOT "The boy who loved words" or "Max's words". Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Leslie

It appears that someone else is looking for a similar book. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I found it!!! It's "Phileas's fortune: a story about self-expression" by Agnes de Lestrade and Valeria Docampo!!!

Possibly:

The Word Collector although the collector is a girl...

The Very Inappropriate Word

Lesliehenry | 6 comments Not "The Very Inappropriate Word". I'm digging up "The Word Collector" to see if that's the one… Thanks for the tips...

Lesliehenry | 6 comments Thanks for that. You are right. It is the same book! Now if we could only figure out what it is...!

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments So, all of the details in that post apply to your request as well?

If so, time for you to edit your main entry :D

Lesliehenry | 6 comments Sorry. I am new to this. What am I supposed to do?

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments On your first entry in this thread, at the bottom should be some text.

One of those links should say 'edit'. You click it, get a text box with your already existing write up in it, then add s'more information (anything you read in the other post that also applies to your book, for example).

It's often nice to let people know that you've edited the original post, usually we say EDIT: [new stuff, comments, etc]

Congrats on finding the book, Lesliehenry. Just for the future, if you do find it, say what the book is in a new post rather than editing your original post because an edit of any existing post won't bump your thread to the top of the queue with an indicator of a new post, and most people only click on the new post indicators. I've shelved the book for you.
