Gathering Blue has the genre "Childrens" on its main page.
Genres
Young Adult 2,006 users
Science Fiction > Dystopia 1,163 users
Fiction 1,029 users
Fantasy 805 users
Science Fiction 550 users
Childrens 209 users
Classics 159 users
Young Adult > Teen 134 users
Childrens > Middle Grade 119 users
Apocalyptic > Post Apocalyptic 102 users

Task 20.5 specifically excludes children's books so this book will not work for this task.

If you decide to move the book to a different task, please remember that all books claimed for points with the children's genre on their main pages must be accompanied by the relevant AR BookFinder and/or AR BookFinder UK information as spelled out in #4 of the Book Formats and Page Numbers Explained of the Rules of the Challenge and in #7 of the Posting Requirements. You will need to provide this required information when you post.

My records show that the task originally claimed in that post was 20.1, not 25.5. I had already passed that post by the time you edited it. That's why we ask people not to edit, but to make new posts. If you'd like to change 17 Carnations: The Royals, the Nazis and the Biggest Cover-Up in History to task 25.5 that's fine, but please make a new post in the completed task thread saying that you're moving the book.

Task 10.3 requires that the author's first, middle, or last name begin and end with the same letter. Neil Gaiman will not work because neither Neil (N, L) nor Gaiman (G, N) begin and end with the same letter.

Task 25.6, option 4 is a cover task. All cover tasks require that you include the cover when you post your completed task. You can find out how to do that here: Add book/author and Add cover

Please see #12 in the Posting Requirements:
12. It's fine to include more than one newly completed task in a post. If you do include more than one task, the tasks must be listed in numerical order, lowest to highest.

This makes record keeping much easier. Please repost with your tasks in order.

Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy: Four Women Undercover in the Civil War will not work for task 50.1, option 1 because it is not a biography of a single subject. Biographies about multiple people have been specifically disallowed in the help thread.

Ah shoot, that's annoying. It's obvious in the hard copy of the book, but I get the thumbnail is hard to tell. I'll find something else!

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments Sirena - post 1874

Task 25.9 requires that the letters of HIP be found in the title of the book, not the subtitle. If SRC purposes, all the words behind the colon in the book's name is considered its subtitle. So neither Edgar Allan Poe: The Fever Called Living nor Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy: Four Women Undercover in the Civil War will work for this task.

The rules of the challenge states: 5. Books whose main page lists any of these genres: Sequential Art, Comics, Comic Book, or Manga may only be used for 5, 10, and 15 point tasks unless specifically allowed in the task description for a higher point task.

Task 25.1 does not specifically allow Sequential Art books, so Nimona cannot be used for this task.

You requested a big book ticket for the edition of Dragonfly in Amber with 950 pages but stated your book had 743 pages, was the linked edition the edition you read?
From posting requirements: " Be sure that the link you provide goes to the edition you actually read, with the correct number of pages. If you used an ebook or an audiobook, include a link to the paper edition used to establish length. "

Blackening Song was written by Aimée & David Thurlo. I don't see anywhere in the help thread for task 20.1 that states that only one of multiple authors will work. So, since there is no D in GO STAMPS GO, I'm afraid this book won't work for this option.

Also, Scorpion House appears to be an ebook without a print edition.

If it has not yet been approved for length, you should ask for approval by posting in the ebook page verification thread: eBook verification thread.

When you claim a book in Completed Tasks that exists ONLY in ebook format, you must provide a reference to the ebook verification document when you post ex."Approved @ line #" or provide the post number in the ebook verification thread where it was approved ex. "Approved post #"

Please repost this task with the required information.

Catie | 185 comments I think I'm missing some big book tickets. By my count I have 9, but only 7 are showing up on the readerboard.

As far as I recall, I was correct until my most recent post (post 1994), where I claimed 4 BB tickets, two for each of the 900-ish page books I read.

Task 5.1 requires a book that includes a natural disaster defined as a geological event or force of nature that has catastrophic consequences. From the description, The Johnstown Flood appears to be a completely man-made disaster: "dam had been hastily rebuilt," "Despite repeated warnings of possible danger, nothing was done." The task also requires that you: "Include a brief explanation of the natural disaster involved." Goodreads Author tickets will no longer be awarded. They have been replaced with:
20.4 GOLDEN OLDIES - Players may earn a ticket for each book FIRST published in or before 1950. A random ticket will be drawn from the ticket pool to determine who creates this task. Challenge finishers are not eligible for the drawing. Players must specifically request a ticket in the post by claiming "Golden Oldie" and stating the original publication year. See the current season's Posting Requirements for more information.

Task 30.6 -- For the SRC, the moderators use physical copies of books to verify page count for ebooks. Although there is a paperback listed for Retreat to Love, there is no page count information listed on Goodreads. It is up to the challenge participant to resolve issues concerning page count before claiming a book for points. You can have a Goodreads librarian research the page count and update the Goodreads database by asking here: Anyone with librarian status....
