What were your least favorite books of the Summer 2015 Challenge? Which books didn't meet your expectations?

Deborah | 1673 comments The Other by Thomas Tryon Creepy psychological thriller that is highly rated, and I think actually deserves it's ratings. The story line is disturbing, which works well for me, but at the same time, slow, which it's supposed to be, to build up suspense. But I got bored, especially with scenes being described in great great detail (country life in the 30's). So with being intrigued, disturbed, and bored...upon finishing the book I reserved the movie, which is sitting on my table to be watched tomorrow:)

Halton Cray (Shadows of the World, #1) by N.B. Roberts Had potential as a miss, hit, miss. I also hate characters that use phrases like "yummy" to describe men. To be fair, it was the main characters best friend... but still, it's grating on the nerves.

Camilla | 501 comments Quite many one-star reads:
All's Well That Ends Well utterly boring; I read it only because I needed to read a play for another challenge.
3 Days totally unbelievable it its details
American Vampire, Vol. 3 Had to read it for another challenge; just reminded me why I don't like graphic novels

Donna | 1271 comments Luckily, I only had two 1-star books:

Beauty Dates the Beast

Greater Than Yourself: The Ultimate Lesson of True Leadership

I didn't enjoy them at all.

Teodora Paslaru (teodorapaslaru) | 75 comments I had no 1 star, but I had two two stars books:

The Comfort of Strangers - really disturbing for me, I don't know why. I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth for days after finishing this book

The Bloodletter's Daughter: A Novel of Old Bohemia - the story line had potential, but the author's writting style is not that great.

Christine | 920 comments I had two 2 star books that I didn't really enjoy:

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer - Intriguing idea and the writing was beautiful, but turned out to be just weird and gross toward the end.

The Ghost Bride - I posted my thoughts in the Group Read thread, but this book just didn't do it for me.

Andrea (deja05) | 100 comments I had to give this book 1 star because I found the characters ridiculous and the storyline totally unbelievable. I know the "chic lit" type books stretch reality sometimes but this one did it just too much for me: The Unfinished Symphony of You and Me

These books I started reading but I couldn't even finish...
Mayumi and the Sea of Happiness by Jennifer Tseng - I did not like the main character and found her obsession with a teenage boy just creepy.

Reawakened (Reawakened, #1) by Colleen Houck - Typical YA book with the usual tropes. Just not for me anymore.

Dark Rooms by Lili Anolik - The main character and her actions after her sister's murder just weren't believable and I found the first 100 pages plain confusing.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 3043 comments I would have to say Good Omens The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett . I gave it three stars but I really didn't find it that funny.

Kaity | 358 comments No 1 star books for me (yay!) but I had a few 2 starrers.

Adrift on St. John by Rebecca M. Hale - This definitely isn't a cozy mystery which I had expected it to be. Large parts of the book are set back when the Caribbean was using slaves to grow sugarcane. It was also a surprisingly confusing book.

Summer Desserts by Nora Roberts - I just didn't like the relationship between the main characters. It's not a good romance when I'm rooting for them to end up on their own!

Murder Of A Snake In The Grass by Denise Swanson - I really need to just give up on this series. I always like the mystery portion but the main character irritates me more than it's worth.

Jasmiina F (slipperbunny) | 530 comments I had one 1 star book during this challenge.

Pants on Fire by Meg Cabot just wasn't very good.
