Buddy Read with Inge, Sofia, Mel, Bev and Andrea starting 30th October
This is indeed a tricky situation because I don't really now much about the legalities of arc copies and who has the right to give them etc.I'd like to read this but at the same time I do not want to be pulled one way or another with making my reading public.
Alexis said the ARCs belong legally to RT.
I thought to maybe read now and review later...
But after all the attention this has gotten I don't feel comfortable with that
Whether I feel used or not, I am not in a current mindset where I could fully enjoy the book, which I intend to do eventually

The read now review later sounds like a good option which I see others have done and which i was already considering.My mood is ok with reading it, I'm not a twitteree so thank God I'm not having this flashing about.
I'm going to start later this afternoon, I'll be here if any of you want to discuss. I will not be adding the comments to the GR update feed so that we can keep this within this thread.

But there was nothing on it except your opinion Mel:( this is making me very ansty about GR and people in it. I like that we have a venue to meet other readers and it is great that we can meet authors as well. But I don't like that lots of people seem to be pushing an agenda rather than interacting and appreciating one another.
There are reviews and ratings for the book so I will be starting either tomorrow or Sunday, but definitely this weekend.
I think this is getting completely out of hand, and I don't want to be in trouble on here as well... I'm not used to being the bad guy. Seems to be a fairly threatening atmosphere at present, sorry for your review Mel. How about we read and then review (or not) when the book comes out (or not)?? Does that make sense...and I agree Sofia. I think we're just being used as pawns in a much bigger game that we know nothing about, so that kind of puts me off as well as making me quite angry i.e. I probably won't read it until we know what's happening.
My review stated my dislike of screenshots being taken and I named the person that did that. That was the problem. And while I don't like being flagged, I'm ok with goodread's guideline about this. They were also nice about it. I'm good. But I won't be getting involved in this any longer.(Sorry for my short responses before. I was in class on my phone...)

Okay, I'm on my way home from another long hard work week (and it will be more this weekend). I've already read some chapters (10%) and to be honest I'm as a big clueless question-mark consider this publisher writer affair. I'm just a faceless nobody in this book world and I guess no one cares what I read or not. This book is about fear and ugly business under WWII - There aren't any nazy-officers hunting me.... I'll will try to continue reading, Like it so far.

Definitely an interesting convo here. :DI can see all sides, that's for sure. No one is 100% innocent on either side between AV and RT.
I'm not even gona get started on the whole FB or twitter or wherever it happened thing and that craziness.
Mel, that sucks about your review, especially since it sounds like it was your reaction to having your shared thoughts captured and used for something other than what they were intended.
I'm honestly not sure if I'll start. I want to continue with Enduring Night and then I have to start Unnatural to get an interview off to her before I leave on vacation lol.

She didn't take a screenshot of something I wrote, but the possibility that it could have happened and it did happen to people I know, was infuriating enough for me, since, as I see it, anonymous screenshots would have done in most of these cases.I saw on her FB that she was calling people stupid who even for one second were on Aleks's side. That was right before I blocked her all over the place

I haven't started :( I don't think I am going to be able to start this weekend after all because of my interview prep and an ARC i need to finish and review. :( You will probably finish reading by the time I start but I will read your comments once I finish and add my own thoughts. :)

I finished Enduring Night... last night lol. I really enjoyed it. It was allllll about Ben and Nik. The title of the next book gives me hope. ;)

I don't know about you but HAPPY HALLOWEEN. Here in Sweden we celebrate All Saints night and put wreaths and light candles on our dear relatives' graves in the cemetery. These last 20 years we often also follow the american tradition and do some spooky "trick & treat" (the kids anyway).

Good to "see" you and I'm glad for you (and your friend 'course) that things are better. I've just been reading and reading. Sometimes is it so good to just go with it. I'm so curious to hear what you feel. ~ Maybe it's just me buth I'm kind of exhausted ... so much to take in and brood about. Thanksgod we are living now and in this mostly peaceful part of the world.

That is my question for you ladies...do we want to make the situation worse than it already is?? I'll go along with whatever the majority of you decide and I agree Ije, it is a draft copy but should ARC copies be available if RT aren't going to publish??
