Author: Unsure
Genre: Fantasy
Time Period Read: Around 2005, maybe early as 2003, could have been published before then though.
Age group: adult, there was some risky scenes. *Note: This was NOT a romance book. Well it wasn't shelved in romance. I remember buying it from the fantasy section.

What I remember: I read a book that started off with a woman, I think a powerful sorceress or the like, traveling on her own. She heard voices in her head, which at the end of the book turned out to be different parts of a goddess's personality (or multiple goddesses I'm fuzzy on this part) crammed into her mind. She turned out to be a goddess or powerful being that had forgotten who she was and was traveling as a human. In the beginning of the book she came across two brothers, in a tavern or bar, who decided to travel with her. They were searching for treasure I think? And she did something that made them choose to travel with her for security reasons, as I said, she was kind of a powerful badass.

***Also important to note: in the beginning of the book she is talking with a man that no one else can ever see. He is described as handsome and has copper hair and I believe copper eyes too? Definitely copper hair. No one can see him or hear him but her. This is because he is actually Death. Over the course of the book I think it is discovered that they are in love? Or that he loves her? I'm not sure.

At the end of the book, after the two brothers and this woman travel up a dangerous mountain and pass through dangerous magic boobytraps and obstacles, nearly freeze to death etc., they end up in some sort of magical showdown? The voices that she hears in her head the whole entire book have gotten worse and worse as they travel. And they finally reach their peak at the top of this mountain and she transforms? She somehow remembers shes a goddess or powerful being, i.e. NOT human, and by doing so whatever was keeping those separate voices and personalities separate from her breaks and she absorbs them all?

Does anyone have ANY idea what this book might be? I've looked everywhere on the internet, for years now, and can't seem to find it. It was an amazing read and I'd love to read it again. Any help or clue would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

I have read that series and it is a wonderful series. I hope one day Elizabeth Haydon finishes it. Unfortunately it is not the book I am looking for. Thank you for your suggestion!

Crystal joins two brothers in looking for treasure in a wizard's lair. She begins to hear the various goddesses who contributed to her powers, while they are working their way through the traps. Lord Death also appears.
