25.1 Andy P.'s task: The Fall Months

This is a two book task: Choose two books, one for Book 1, and one that works for Book 2.

Book 1. Numerically, the Fall months, SRC style, are 9, 10, and 11.
Read a book whose author's* surname has 9, 10, or 11 letters. The book must be written by a single author. Please note that a surname, for SRC purposes, is the last word in the author's name preceded by a space.

Book 2. Read a book whose title (Not a subtitle or series title) contains a word of 9, 10, or 11 letters. The word may be plural or possessive.

For both book 1 and book 2, all letters in the word or surname count, but punctuation marks, such as hyphens or apostrophes, do not.

Books with the main page genre childrens or kids may not be used for this task.

*Only authors that are identified as authors (or a default blank in the author role field), co-authors, or contributors may be used for tasks involving author information. Other roles or functions such as editor, illustrator, artist, translator, introduction, designed by, foreword, preface, assistant or afterword may not be used for author-sourced tasks. Ask about other roles identified in a Goodreads record in the season's General Questions help thread.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments You state that book must have a single author. This book has only one AUTHOR (but a translator is also listed)

Would it still work for Option 1?

The Potter's Field by Andrea Camilleri (she is the author ...)

It works, but Camilleri is a man, In Italy Andrea or Andria is a man's name

Pia Hi! Would this author work for the task?

Jorge Zepeda Patterson

For me, Patterson (9 letters) is the maternal surname or second last name, but I think in the States it would be considered the surname?

Yes, According to Good Reads protocol Patterson is the surname and the one that counts for this task thus this author will work.

Andy Plonka (plonkaac) | 4207 comments Book 2 does not work as there is no 9 10 or 11 letter word in the title

For option 2 the title must contain a word that has 9, 10 0r 11 letters not the whole title containing this number of letters, so neither title works but both choices for option 1 are fine
