Of course, I totally understand! I won't be staying up late but I wish I could!!
Jordan wrote: "I've got my alarm set for 4am so I won't lose a minute of reading time :p"Wow, you're dedicated!! :) What is your reading goal for this week?
Way to go, Jacquelyn!!! You can do it!I finished my audiobook and started the last book (Withering Tights). I want to finish before the readthon. Only 256 pages to go but it seems like a light, quick read. This will leave me with one audiobook (Unwind) that I am currently reading. I am listening to it with a friend so I may actually listen to some of it during the readthon but its only about 5 hours that it will take away from readathon books so it isn't too much.
Thanks for that motivation! :)Wow, you are doing awesome! Great job and I am sure you can finish Withering Tights by tonight!
Jordan wrote: "I want to aim for 1,000 pages. Hopefully I'll read more though!"Good luck! Last time around, I read 900 something but I didn't read anything on the Sunday and I was beginning to go into slump so I hope to read much more this time around!
Jacquelyn wrote: "Of course, I totally understand! I won't be staying up late but I wish I could!! "
I wish I could do it too.. But yeah, sorry my body isn't the strongest at times, and with work and all, I don't want to get sick and lose a whole week of books because of that. :( I know how it goes. I once stayed up 24 hours for a charity thing, and after that I was sick for some time. NO thank you.
Oh well, with my reading speed I can probably read enough books during the time I have. I also got some shorter books which I want to read, so it will be all ok. Don't really have a goal for pages or such, I just want to have fun. :)
Amanda wrote: "Finished my last book, all set for tomorrow."Great job! Now my problem would be not having anything to read for the remainder of the night.
Jacquelyn wrote: "Oh, yes, don't do that then! We don't want you to be sick all week! :("I won't, thanks for your concern. I will just take it easy.
Amanda wrote: "I know, my pile of books are taunting me. I can't wait to start them."lol! Which one will you start with?
Mehsi wrote: "Jacquelyn wrote: "Oh, yes, don't do that then! We don't want you to be sick all week! :("I won't, thanks for your concern. I will just take it easy."
Good to hear that!
Almost there, J! I am still at 256 pages to go.Mehsi, I think your goal is a wonderful goal. Last readathon I had to work almost everyday and some days I read very little or not at all. Thankfully I have the week off for this one so I can read a lot without messing up my sleeping schedule.
Jacquelyn wrote: "Amanda wrote: "I know, my pile of books are taunting me. I can't wait to start them."lol! Which one will you start with?"
I will start with
. It's due back to the library soon.
Now I have 26 more to go! I have no idea what I am going to do! I will finish this soon but want to read during the remainder of the night! Oh no!!
Jacquelyn wrote: "Now I have 26 more to go! I have no idea what I am going to do! I will finish this soon but want to read during the remainder of the night! Oh no!!"lol I'm having the same dilemma! But I have to study for a math test (blegh) so I guess that should take up a major part of my evening... lol

Congrats on the free week, that is really lovely that you can relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. I hope you will be able to read a lot (hopefully all fun books).
Luckily my week is mostly calm and relaxing, just a few events (work and some other things), but I mostly will have enough time to read and just have fun.
It is my first read-a-thon to join. I mostly tend to avoid the 24 hour once, because well, too long and all in one go, and I wasn't sure about the week-long event, until I just decided to go for it and give it a try.
I am not even sure if I will participate with all the points and all. I will probably just read and have fun chatting here and enjoying this event.

It gave me more motivation to read when I could and it was fun to track my progress and chat with everyone.
I just finished my current read! Mandiann, I have never read one of them and I can't access any right now.

lol! I don't study for the state tests so I don't have anything to do and I have 4-5 hours before I go to bed.
Mandiann wrote: "Mehsi wrote: "Mandiann wrote: "Mehsi, I think your goal is a wonderful goal. Last readathon I had to work almost everyday and some days I read very little or not at all. Mandiann wrote: "I found the week long on to be a lot more enjoyable and laid back. It gave me more motivation to read when I could and it was fun to track my progress and chat with everyone. "Yes, and less stressful. And you can also take more breaks between the books. With 24 hour and all, you just keep reading as much as you can. While now you can just read 2 or so books a day and just relax. :)
Yeah, I loved the chats, I mostly just chatted and cheered during those read-a-thons, because even though I didn't participate I liked to see everyone's progress, see what they read and how they were doing.
Mandiann wrote: "http://www.marissameyer.com/books/sho...It's a good prequel to Cinder. It can be read online."
Thanks! I am not sure if I will read this or not because I am not sure when I will get around to Cinder but thanks again! (:

I have to study for the science ones which are next week, sort of (I thought they were this week :P). They're on everything we've learned since sixth grade, so... But we've done a lot of practice in class, so I think I won't need to study too much :D
Hopefully I won't have very much homework this week (but based on my luck, I bet I'm going to, lol). I want to read all my read-a-thon books so friggin badly!!!!
I was never able to participate in the 24 hour readathons because they always fell on the weekend I had to work. The week long one will be easier for me and after Wednesday this week I will have 4 days off work.
Sarah, good luck with studying and hope you don't have homework! We usually don't get homework on state's test weeks but you never know. lol.

Oh those were good stories. :)
I haven't read all of the novellas in this series yet. I plan to during the readathon but I have read the first. It's one of my favourite series.

Thanks! I hope so, too, lol!
I am sure I will! I love Marissa Meyer. I loved all three books, I just haven't had time for the .5's because they are on the computer and I don't often read on my computer.
Mandiann wrote: "I am sure I will! I love Marissa Meyer. I loved all three books, I just haven't had time for the .5's because they are on the computer and I don't often read on my computer."I don't normally read on my PC either.

:) Fingers crossed for you!

I wish she would bring out more novellas though, with more fairytale retellings.

I see some people are staying up... I would kind of do that, but well 5am is a bit too long to stay up and a bit too early to wake up. :) And also, work and all, so I need to be awake/alive to get through the day.
