Macy, I really enjoyed The Secret History, but I can see that it isn't a book that everyone can fall in love with...it definitely has its quirks (to put it mildly). I look forward to your thoughts upon completion.

Middlesex was not as good as the Virgin Suicides for me, but I have had many a discussion/argument on the topic, so let me know what you all think.

I loved the Virgin Suicides as well. I loved the mood of the book.

I agree - I preferred The Virgin Suicides to Middlesex. Not that I didn't enjoy Middlesex, I thought it was well written and interesting, but it wasn't as gripping as The Virgin Suicides.
Started book of lost things. So far really good

I just started Jane Eyre.
Can't believe i've never read this one. I love it so far.
Dana-
How are you liking White Teeth? I was really engrossed for the first hundred pages or so, then i started to get bored...

Also started Anna Karenina.
I have read both these books before, but have absolutely no recollection of them!
I'm taking a little break from the list and reading John Connolly's The Book of Lost Things. so far a great read!

I'm back to the list now. Just about to start Cocaine Nights. We'll see how it goes.
Just started The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. This is my first time reading Morrison, though I saw the film adaptation of Beloved. She seems to have a thing for pregnancies out of incest. I'm not sure how much I'm going to like her.

Yes Bladerunner was based on do androids dream of electric sheep.
Just started the romance of the three kingdoms, trying to keep track of the large cast of characters. Have to flick back occasionally to remember when they came in.

Other than that, the next book I hope to start is Wind-up Bird Chronicle for a book club .

Peace!

We're off work tomorrow due to potential hurricane and I may need something to do.
The Bell Jar, so far really good.

I listened to "Love" on audio-tape, and I really enjoyed it. I love Toni Morrison, and this was another winner!
