This is an english language young adult series I read in the late 80's, early 90s. I believe it was written around that time as well. There were at least two books, possibly more, set in a medieval fantasy type world. Some people in this world have magical abilities, but they are not magicians. It's more like they're X-Men, with a particular, inherent fantastic ability. The protagonist (a teenage boy/girl?) discover that s/he has powers and falls in with at least two other mutants, a ninja type who has some power to do with his eyes and may be called something like Archer(?) and a large blond woman with super-strength. They are all fighting some evil empire type, which I believe is ruled by another super-powered individual. It's been bugging me for years. Little help?

In that theme, but not your books, _Legend of Nightfall_ (and _The Return of Nightfall_) - also a two-book series.Perhaps mention the blonde brick in the subject line? Or you'll get a lot of people like me who'll think they know the answer, and don't :P
Blade of the Poisoner, maybe?
"Jarral...falls in with three people of Talent: Archer, who is a giant woman of marvelous aim; Scythe, who appears blind but actually "sees" with supernatural accuracy; and Mandra, who can make forms seem to change."
The sequel is Master of Fiends

That's definitely it. Man, Goodreads is killing it for me lately, especially considering that I'm conflating several characters. Can I ask, have you read it, or are you just much better at Google searching than I am? Also, Thanks so much for your help.
My pleasure! No, I haven't read it, and didn't Google it - but I have access to a couple of different databases, and years of practice searching them, as part of my job as a librarian. :)
