Hi Everyone,I've just joined Goodreads and this group.
I have read a lot of books over the years covering various genres.
After years of thinking about writing, I've finally got around to actually doing some. I love going off into my own little world but unfortunately the day job does get in the way a bit...for now anyway! The only other downside is that I get to read less than I would like and I have to avoid a certain genre in case it influences what I write.
I look forward to contributing to discussions.
Hello, I just joined up today! My first group ever even though I have been using good reads for a couple of years now. Why did it take so long? Iāve always been worried about people jumping in and spoiling the books Iām reading! Anyways, Iām going to give it a shot here, and even ordered the book of the month to see how it goes! P.S. One more thing. I apologize for the bad grammar and spelling ahead of time!
Welcome Chris! don't worry about things like that- grammar & spelling. and we always try not to spoil books. Which book of the month did you order?
The group read is SUBHUMAN! Sounds like something right down my alley. I canāt wait to read it. Spoilers do suck!Iām currently trying to fish two others before my order comes in. (Origins and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (donāt judge me)).
Thanks to all for the welcome!
Hi everyone,I was a member here in 2017-2018, but I had the biggest reading-slump and felt to much pressure to keep track of what I was reading or to read at all. I said goodbye to a lot of groups and didn't pay much attention to GR. But, 2019 is going to be different. I found my reading-spirit again and since I love reading horror and I want to read it a lot more, I decided to come back to this group.
Hi I've been an inactive member for a couple years and decided it's time to introduce myself. :)
I'm from the U.S. a huge horror fan, books and film; I also read a lot of other genres sans romance and am always open to discussion.
I'm open-minded and generally happy.
Good to meet you.
Hi Everyone! I'm a fan of horror movies and books and love hunting for new horror reads. I decided to join a group because my page is soooo quiet. I want to know about the latest horror book kick and what people think of them.
I'm not a writer though I have experimented with it as a kid. I remember writing a short story at age 10 about flying pontianaks. My teacher actually liked it! Then at age 12 I won some silly writing competition. Then I started picking up music and never wrote again. Maybe one day I will start.
As for now, my current favourite is horror books with a dose of dark wicked humor. I'm so looking forward to sharing with you all!
Wow! With the new year came a big batch of new members and old members returning!Hello everyone and welcome, (or welcome back), to HA!
Welcome to HA, Tessa! Have you read anything by Jeff Strand? His horror has dark humor all throughout. :)
Was part of a couple of other horror groups that went inactive, and also cut down my own activity while finishing a PhD recently. Decided to give the social reading a try again, as well as just enjoying interaction with other book geeks like myself. Huge Stephen King fan here, but am also reading a lot of Neil Gaiman these days. I also love classic works in the gothic genre like Mary Shelley, Sheridan Le Fanu, etc.
Hello all, thanks for the warm welcome! And hello again to new members :)Kimberly, thanks for the suggestion! I am looking forward to reading Jeff Strandās Blister. Canāt wait to share my thoughts.
Thank you for the warm welcome. :) I'm really looking forward to getting to know you!
I just recently finished reading The Road, (in November) I'd love to talk about it sometime.
Happy New Year!

I LOVED BLISTER!! The dark humor was the best in that one!

Hi all! I'm Cat and I live in Minnesota (US). I am a book blogger, but just as a hobby. I am a huge fan of Stephen King. I'm currently in the middle of The Outsider and can't rave enough about it!I just joined this group and I am looking to corresponding with all of you.
Hi ya'll! I am a Librarian's Assistant, and I own a Ghost Tour Company in Houston. I am obsessed with true crime, horror, and sci-fi. I am always on the look out for the scariest, most disturbing stories and movies I can get my hands on. I joined this group to hopefully find some new good reads to add to my collection. Yay!
Welcome new friends!Lindy a Ghost Tour Company sounds like a pretty sweet gig!! Have you had some spooky encounters??
Not sure if this question fits in this particular thread, but I'll ask anyway. Last weekend I purchased The Last American Vampire and I just saw that it is a sequel to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer. Now my ? is, do I have to read Abraham Lincoln first to understand it?
