Hey everyone! I'm Berit and I come from Norway. I really need some tips on good new horror books, so hoping to see what you're going to read in this group :) The last one I really enjoyed was the Keeper-series by Sarah Langan.

Hello Everybody!I've joined a few groups that professed to having a mixture of Horror, Sci-fi and Fantasy as group reads but Horror always gets pushed to the side. I'm tired of it! I do love Sci-fi and Fantasy but my heart is with horror. I'm happy to have found this group.
Hi all! I have been working my Goodreads account hard this year, so I started to look around for groups and found this one. Whenever someone asks what I prefer to read, I say: weird stuff. That pretty much encompasses it! Horror is my favorite, but sci-fi is great too. I am hoping to find some reading suggestions here!
I became stuck in a rut and read the same authors over and over, Stephen King , VC Andrews, Tolkien , Stephen R Donaldson, Terry Brooks, John Grisham, Mary Higgins Clark, I started watching book tubers on youtube and did my first one called Trollbridgebogger on Books by Anne Rice I love and hate, but I started watching just so I could get names of books and authors to read. I am a homebody always with a grandkid or 2 or 6,lol, I also write short stories, poetry, and reviews, and am working on a novel. Nice to meet you all.

You're welcome!
Hello and welcome, everyone! Horror is much more than King and Koontz-you will find plenty of authors to try out here.
Hello everyone. I read a little (ok, a lot) of everything but good horror is my weakness. The problem is that can't seem to find much that's really horrific. Neck-biting got old in grade school. Reanimated corpses of any sort don't pay taxes and don't gain weight so I'm more envious than frightened of them. I lean more towards the Lovecraftian (and weird fiction in general) for the otherworldliness of it but would love to find something mixing that with the insanity of Ellis' American Psycho and brutality of McCarthy's Blood Meridian. Hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.
Hi. My name's Russ and I'm just starting to get into horror novel writing. I love horror movies and novels and am always looking for suggestions on new titles to explore. My favorite flick is "Dead Birds", favorite horror novel is "Weaveworld" by Clive Barker, but "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis is a close second.
Hello all! My name is John and I have been on Goodreads a couple/few years and never thought to look up groups!
AND I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!
I started reading late and 'cut my teeth' on horror! My best friend from all those years ago lent me Phantoms by Koontz and then a ton of King. And I was addicted.
Somewhere along the way he lent me a series - a trilogy I believe - of horror novels based in spiders. They may have come from space, I am not sure. He lent them to me in the late eighties so it would have to be something from that period or before. The author was either American or British I believe. And that is all I have!!!
I have googled this time and again and even went through pages here on Goodreads.
This was a very long time ago and I have since lost touch with the guy. If anyone out there has any idea please feel free to share!
Thanks in advance!
Welcome John. Sorry I can't help you with what you're looking for but I'm sure some else in the group can.

John, there's a thread here where you can ask other members if they know the title you're looking for. I just used it myself recently for a short story, and almost immediately someone replied with the title and author!! https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Hope this helps! I can't think of it myself, but sometimes a story or book will immediately come to mind with just the "idea" behind it.
