Hello everyone, Ari hereI'm a huge fan of horror and all stories featuring supernatural elements like jinn, strange creatures, and their heirs.
I'm especially drawn to ones with a strong psychological thriller element that explore the cause behind each phenomenon.
I'd love to hear your top recommendations
Hello, everyone! We're Strong Women - Strange Worlds, an organization that runs free online reading events of speculative fiction. Our mission is to elevate the voices of women and other underrepresented gender identity authors of science fiction, fantasy, and horror; to highlight stories featuring strong female and non-binary characters; and to share these stories with readers of all ages. We're excited to join the conversation!
Hi! My name is Chiara, I'm Italian but live in the UK. Fell in love with horror books at a very young age, then I sort of lost my passion for reading and became and obsessive horror film watcher (I also work in Film&TV so my life has been fully absorbed by visual media). Lately I got back into reading and loving it so much and I feel like I have 15/20 years worth of books to catch up on, so bring on the recs please!Currently reading: The Possession of Alba Diaz by Isabel Cañas and Ring Shout by P. Djelì Clark and loving both
Hello everyone, My name is Liana! I'm newer to the group and love horror/thriller books. I hit a book stand still for a few months but I'm back in the swing of things!
I'm currently reading "The 31st Trick-Or-Treater" written by Ben Farthing. It's so fun to do as a Halloween advent read. I have read some really great horror/thriller books recently and love to be scared to turn off the lights from a them!
If you have any recommendations let me know and I'm so excited to be part of this group!
Hello everyone, I’m Eliza. I read mostly horror — psychological, gothic, and quietly unsettling. I’m here to exchange recommendations, not sleep.
Hello, folks. My name is Ed Perratore. I’m about done with my career, having spent 40+ years in magazine writing—Consumer Reports, PC Magazine and other pubs. Now, it’s time for what I’ve wanted to do for years! I began writing the first three of my books decades ago but never felt they were quite ready till 2021, when I edited, revised and updated them. Those first three went out the door, and I’ve since followed them with a fourth.I’ve been a horror fan since I was a boy, and two of that first trio are horror novels: First was Hindred Spirits, followed by The Coven Tree. My most recent novel—it came out April of this year—is The Knock from Nobody. The title comes from a game my own children played in our town park when they were in grade school, and the novel itself is set in Mount Kisco, New York, with parts in other towns of upper Westchester.
The misfit of the bunch is the most popular, and it’s nonfiction—alas, not pertinent to this group.
I’m happy to talk about writing, indie publishing and marketing—and whatever else is ripe for discussion!
Hello, my name is Laura. I am new to the group and new to Goodreads. My favorite genres have always been Horror and Sci-fi and I love when that chocolate and peanut butter are mixed! The surprising thing is that it has been fantasy and romantasy that have broken a 10 year reading dry spell and I am devouring books again. No poking fun at my Want to Read list!
Happy spooky season everyone!
Hello everyone! I’m Cassie and I love the horror genre more than I should according to some. lol specifically tales of the paranormal. I’ve been an avid reader all my life, but a few years ago I fell victims to the phone disease and lost my way, but now I’m back. I’m excited to explore new stories and get back to my reading roots. I created a good reads account years ago but never used it… well, now I’m putting good use to it. Excited to be here!
Hello 👋🏼 I am a self published author exclusive to Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.
I write under two names, Aaron Gehrig and Aryn Bats. Sometimes I let Bats out of the cage to write the darker stuff. I feed him stories and he spits out horrific masterpieces drenched in blood and ichor.
I write in many genres, but horror and thriller are my favourite.
Feel free to add me as a friend or follow me. I have many new titles available and just in time for Halloween.
I am new to publishing but not new to writing. I am disabled with many spine complications and chronic pain, including Fibromyalgia, so being on a limited income does hinder my budgeting for marketing. But I'm in no hurry, it's the writing aspect that I enjoy most. I am just now starting to get some reviews. It's a great feeling seeing the 5 stars, and reading what others love about my work.
I hope you get a chance to read one, some time.
Just search my names 😄🤘🏼
Hey everyone, my name is Kurt. I’m a horror writer, strictly short stories. Just started now that I’m finally retired and can dive into what I really love: horror.Wanted to drop a quick hello before asking for reading tips and hanging out with you all in this group.
Susan wrote: "Hi! I'm a horror lover, from the time I was just a little girl, many many years ago. Now, I not only read it, but write it as well. I have two self-published paranormal non-fiction, and three horror novels published by indie presses. Plus lots of short stories published in magazines, anthologies, and podcasts. My goal, right now, is to go back to read and re-read the classic horror stories. Right now, I'm reading both the original Bram Stoker's Dracula and Moby Dick. I've got a list! Including King, Bradbury, Jackson, DuMaurier, and lots more.

Hello all,I was a big horror fan when I was younger (Bachman books,
Stephen King, Ann Rice etc.) and I have yet to meet a horror book that I didn’t like. I have branched out a bit to non fiction
and others but my first love is anything with demons/possessions/zombies/ghosts(real or imagined)/ vampires and hauntings (I’m sure I’m forgetting something)..
looking forward to this.
Thanks!
Good evening. My name is Tasos and I'm from Athens, Greece. I am 23 years old and i've been reading non stop for the past 2 and a half years. Better late than never. I'm mainly interested in fiction ( horror, classic, adventure), as well as politics, history and biographies. Horror writers like Edgar Alan Poe, Stephen King, and H P Lovecraft had a big impact on me. So much so, that i started working on my own horror novel. I am open to a conversation of any topic of discussion. Feel free to reach out

Sorry. I was trying to make general statements. I'll try again.

Mehdi, you were told specifically where you can advertise your book, even though it's not horror and doesn't really belong in this group. If you post inappropriately outside the promo folder again you will be removed from the group.

Hello fellow horror chums. My name is Kai (they/them). I have AuDHD and I love kitties and video games, outside of reading. Horror is one of my favourite genres and I love how cerebral it can be.I'm socially awkward and not the greatest at communicating, but I'm excited about this group and hoping I can meet and make some like-minded mates, and learn to get better at talking with folx.
It's very nice to meet, y'all.
Hello! My name is Estefani (Stef) i’m 22 yrs old and i’m big horror girl. I’ve just recently begun to dive deeper into gothic classics, and philosophical literature. Hoping to make some friends on here and share great stories together :)
Welcome to all the new members! Please grab a virtual hot latte to the left, and enjoy all the horror conversations that await :-)
Dear all, I’ve been a member of this group for a while but I’ve never really taken part. So here I am :-) Hi! My name is Francesca and I’m from Italy, a small town near Verona. The genres I absolutely love are science fiction and, obviously ;-), the darker side of literature, even though I don’t end up reading much of horror and I don't know why... That’s also why I’ll try to join your wonderful challenges, so I can find some motivation and explore more of those chilling stories :-)
Hi Francesca, thank you for saying hi! I think we have a lot of silent lurkers haha and it's so nice when they join the chat, so happy to have you here with us.
I need to read more horror I feel like I've branched out so much I'm starting to miss it.

That’s so kind of you, thank you! I’m really glad to be here ^__^And I completely get what you mean about horror @Kasia . When you explore lots of different genres, it’s easy to drift away from the ones that first hooked you.
Hi! My name is Ruslana, this is the first group I have joined on this site. I read almost everything (not a fan of romance though) but horror is my all time favourite genre.
