Introduce Yourself!
Hello Everyone, I am so excited to be a part of this group. I love horror books and movies and I am hoping to find more suggestions to read. I love books about ghosts in particular with a hint of mystery to them. Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

It's full of atmosphere and an unfolding mystery as to who/what the entity stalking an arctic weather station is.
Oh, and I forgot for a moment, but Haunted by James Herbert. It's about a paranormal investigator hired by an odd family to investigate ghostly shenanigans at their mansion.
Hi! I’m a lifelong horror fan trying to find my way back into reading after becoming a parent. Between the chaos of toys, snacks, and sleepless nights, it’s been a challenge to carve out quiet time, but I’m determined to reconnect with my love for books—especially the ones that keep you up at night. Horror has always been my favorite escape, whether it’s through chilling novels, creepy games, or terrifying movies. Now I’m on a mission to build a new reading habit and discover some spine-tingling stories along the way. Feel free to add me as a friend—I’m always up for chatting about scary books and getting new recommendations!
Welcome to all the new faces! We have tons of virtual iced lattes and blueberry scones for all the horror reading adventures that await :-)
LTJ wrote: "Welcome to all the new faces! We have tons of virtual iced lattes and blueberry scones for all the horror reading adventures that await :-)"I love iced lattes! I've never had a blueberry scone before. Are they like blueberry muffins (blueberry muffins are lovely)?
Hi I'm Emily. I love horror books and movies. I read a lot of other genres too. I'm hoping to find some people that are interested in discussing books you're currently reading as well as giving recommendations. People I've chatted with in the past seem to only want shallow/bare minimum conversations. If you want to go in-depth and enjoy meaningful discussions, add me!
@PJ: Sweet! They're like hard pastries and go perfectly with coffee! They're very common here in New York and are AMAZING!(and yes, I also love blueberry muffins!!!)

Hi everyone! I have been a long time fan of horror videogames but never really got too much into horror books until recently. I am still discovering the genre, hoping to get some good recommendations here!
Joana wrote: "Hi everyone! I have been a long time fan of horror videogames but never really got too much into horror books until recently. I'm on the path of discovery myself, trying to stuff in as many new and classic authors as I can in way too short a time lol. Any particular types of horror that you think interest you most?
Joana wrote: "Hi everyone! I have been a long time fan of horror videogames but never really got too much into horror books until recently. It's fast-paced, thrilling, and has a twist at the end that made me think of a very famous horror game.
Hello! Just getting into reading the past couple years and this and suspense/thrillers are the only genres that can hold my attention :)
I'm really big into folk horror (Cunning Folk {Neville}, Harvest Home {Tyron}, druids, pagans, spooky season stuff), though I wont turn away any recommendations so please hit me with them !!
Currently, heart shaped box, death troopers, and the housemaid are on my next up list but need a reallllllly good one or two to get me through spooky season :)
Hey, y’all, I’m Morgues. I mostly read fantasy and horror, super into everything spooky in general. Glad to have a place to go to w a bunch of horror lovers. 🖤

Not sure if I’ve introduced myself to the group yet, but hello everyone 👋 my name is Jakob and I’m quite the horror lover. I love watching horror movies and shows, and mine a huge sucker for horror novels too. Probably makes sense my favorite author is Stephen King haha 🤣 anyway I’m hope to be here and I can’t wait to interact with yinz in this group!
Greetings and salutations friendo Jakob.
Guessing you're Pittsburgh area? Let's Go Pens! Let's Go Bucs!

What gave it away, Alan 😂 yes go Pens and Bucs and Steelers! Though it is hard nowadays given how mediocre they’ve all been.

Though I'm originally from the other side of the state, I know a Yinzer when I see one. ;)
And yeah, I still cheer for the Pens and Bucs but it's not easy these days. (was never a Steelers fan however)

Yeah we can be obvious sometimes haha 🤣 understandable my friend, there are better teams to root for. The Eagles aren’t so bad themselves. Definitely more Super Bowl wins and appearances as of recent than my Steelers.
Hey there! I'm Light, from Brazil. I'm joining because while I've always had a fascination with horror, I'm only recently getting into contemporary horror books. I loved Dracula and Edgar Allan Poe as a kid, and I still greatly enjoy those. As for contemporary literature, I found I love horror mixed with comedy (such as Horrorstör). I have a preference for supernatural and cosmic horror stories, and I love when things are confusing or not completely explained outright to the reader ( such as The Library at Mount Char). I have yet to find a book truly "scary", but I'm excited to discover more books through the group! I'm not a particularly heavy goodreads user and don't often update my reads (oops) but I'm trying to be better at it!
Hi everyone! 👋I’m Andriana and I’ve always loved horror, especially when it blends history, mystery, and the supernatural. Looking forward to discovering new books here and sharing recommendations with you all!

I don’t read them before bedtime anymore.

The Library at Mount Char is something special, I had to restart that book 4 times but really loved it when I finally managed, it kind puts you in the mind of a certain character so much it's hard to not feel it all yourself. Also welcome :)

Hi!I've been away for so long that I think I should introduce myself again.
I'm Jennifer in Phoenix, practically a ring of hell right now.
I collect books, grow vegetables, and write a Substack called Autumn Lives Here, which is all about horror books and movies, original short stories, true crime and year round Autumn.
