@Tu_Cute: Welcome! This is a wonderful community. I'm sure you'll fit right in and become a part of our family in no time :-)
Hey everyone. I heard about HA through the Stephen King Fans page and I knew I had to join. Stephen King is my favourite author and I am slowly making my way through his books. Currently reading the Stand and I also just finished Grady Hendrix's the Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, which was a blast. Thanks for having me here :)
@Alexandra: Welcome! You came to a wonderful group and the same here, Stephen King is my all-time favorite author :-)I just finished The Stand a few months ago for the very first time... INCREDIBLE! Enjoy and happy reading! I also love Grady Hendrix, The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires is also an amazing read!
Hi Everyone! I'm Shamonn. I love horror and thriller books and movies. I love suspense and gore. If you have any recommendations, let me know!
hi everyone!! I'm brand new here and just learning how to use Goodreads. I've been reading fantasy and thrillers, but want to dip my toes into horror! I'm kind of a wimp, but I like the genre.
When it comes to horror movies, I'm partial to slasher films.
Hi friends, I'm Erika. I started my horror era a couple of years ago and haven't looked back. I've particularly loved Stolen Tongues, The Eyes Are the Best Part, The Spirit Bares It's Teeth, and A Light Most Hateful. I'm a plot-based girlie, the faster the better. I haven't met a book that has terrified me yet (although Stolen Tongues got close), so I'm always looking for recommendations! Feel free me to add me too!
@Lake: Welcome to our home of horror! Horror is my happy place, as I say :-)Hell yeah, I love slasher films! Which is your favorite? I love A Nightmare on Elm Street and of course, the Terrifier franchise :-D
@Erika: Welcome! LoL YES!!! Isn't your horror era amazing? I remember doing that as a teenager after I read IT by Stephen King for the very first time on paperback. I then got into reading more King, horror movies, CREEPSHOW, and more :-)I have Stolen Tongues on my TBR and have yet to read it. Was that a 5-Star read for you?
I have one for you... "Come Closer" by Sara Gran... you have been warned!
@LTJ: Thank you! Ironically, I have yet to dive into Stephen King. Seems.. bordering on classic and maybe outdated? I know, I know, that sounds silly. ST was a 5 star read, except for the conclusion, it seemed a bit too easy. And I loved Come Closer! I do have to say Incidents Around the House creeped me out a bit more, although I loved the twist about demons living among us!LTJ wrote: "@Erika: Welcome! LoL YES!!! Isn't your horror era amazing? @Erika: You are very welcome! Pfft, nope, it doesn't sound silly at all. Oh nice, Stolen Tongues was a 5-Star read for you? Perfect, I'll see if I can read that next month or save it for October. Thanks for your insight :-)ZOMG YOU READ COME CLOSER ALREADY?!?!!? LoL nice, how amazing was that!?!?!? Did she write "Incidents Around the House" as well, or is that a different author?
Hello all. Lifelong reader. Love horror. Grew up on Stephen King mostly. Feel free to friend me. I don’t bite. Hard 😜
@LTJ: Well hey thanks, most people go bug eyed when I tell them I've never read Mr. King. Lmk what your thoughts are once you read it! Incidents was written by another solid horror author, Josh Malerman 👻LTJ wrote: "@Erika: You are very welcome! Pfft, nope, it doesn't sound silly at all. @Erika: Anytime! LoL that's silly, I look at it from a different perspective... it's exciting to hear someone has yet to read something by an author you love. To get that first-time read is a special experience!I'll definitely let you know! Would it be okay if I sent a Friend Request you way?
I've yet to read Incidents! Was that also a 5-Star for you?
@LTJ: Yes, I completely agree! And certainly, send it on over. Incidents was a solid 4.5, but the creep factor was almost tangible in this one. Very worth checking out!
@Erika: Exactly! Awesome and thanks, I just sent a friend request your way and I answered your great question :-)Wow, a 4.5? That's freaky, what kind of creep factor are we talking about? Demons? Murderers? Please enlighten me!
hey, my names jo! I just added an account to Goodreads but I hear this is where all the horror lovers are at so I have found my people mwahahhahaAny monstrumologist fans out there?
Welcome to HA, Jo! I haven't read that in forever, but I think I still have a copy on my shelves.
@LTJ: Yay, thank ya! And I'll give you the elevator pitch - Bela (6/7 y/o -ish?) is home for the summer. She lives in a lovely home with her father and mother. Except she also lives with Other Mommy - the entity in her closet... and she wants inside Bela's heart.
