Hello! My name is Harker, and I'm a huge horror fan, whether it be books, film, podcasts/etc. I have a particular fondness for folk horror, body horror, ghost stories, and things that twist reality. I'm not very up to date with more contemporary horror releases, so recommendations are always welcome! :)
Welcome to HA, Bonn and Harker! You'll find a lot of recommendations here, and there are even threads for specific sub genres!
Welcome, Bonn and Harker! Please grab a virtual iced latte to the left and enjoy this awesome group :-D
Hello everyone! My name is Grace, and I recently joined the group. I've been trying to get into reading horror, which is why I decided to join. I usually enjoy reading fantasy, sci-fi, and romance books the most. Feel free to send recommendations to this horror newbie.

Welcome, Heather!
@Heather: Welcome! I love 28 Days Later, and they've already finished production of 28 Years Later, which I can't wait for!The Stand is incredible, and I just finished reading it earlier this year. It's such a masterpiece. IT by Stephen King is my favorite :-)
Hello, my name is Rhiannon! I have recently joined the group but forgot to introduce myself. I love anything horror and true crime (books, movies, podcasts) and I am always looking for books that can really chill me because I have become immune to most horror lol, I am open to any recs, I really love indie, gothic and occult horror. Fav horror books: The Winter People, Bunny
fav horror movies: grave encounters, yellow brick road, silence of the lambs
@Rhiannon: Welcome! That's so awesome, and if I had to give you a horror recc that'll probably freak you out..."Come Closer" by Sara Gran
Hey there. I wrote sci fi and a thriller but I actually read horror and I'd like to see what ye all talk about thanks for having me
Hello everyone!! 👋I’ve been trying to interact with people on this group but haven’t been succeeding, so I figured I should try here!
I mostly read fantasy, but love a good horror book!
Some of my favs:
🎀The Asylum Confessions
🎀Pet Semetary
🎀Anklesnatcher
@Adalynn: Hey, welcome! This is the best place to interact! It's awesome that you mostly read fantasy; I did a bit while growing up. I'm more into horror these days and excellent favs, by the way! I love Pet Semetary :-)
Hello Adalynn! You really can't go wrong with pet Semetary! Try joining in on some of the group reads that interest you. Each month we have a "nominations" period, and the top ten are added to a poll that members can vote on for the following month's group reads. :D
✨Adalynn✨ wrote: "@Kimberley Very true!! Oh, alright! Tysm!! 😄"
We keep the conversation thread open there even after the month ends, for those that couldn't fit it in during the month. ALSO, if you want to talk to authors, we have Two Author participation group reads as well, where you can ask them questions. :)

Hello. 👋🏾 I'm stepping way outside of my comfort zone by introducing myself here. 😅 But I've been searching for like-minded individuals who enjoy horror just as much as I do. I do enjoy other genres like Sci-Fi and Epic/High Fantasy, but I've been watching horror movies since I was a child. I haven't read many horror books and would like to make some friends while receiving great recs from you all!
Hello!! 👋 It’s very nice to meet u! It’s also very brave of u for stepping out of ur comfort zone. That takes a lot of courage 😁
I highly recommend the following:
🎀 Pet Semetary
🎀 Anklesnatcher
🎀 Ajin: Demi human (if u like manga)
I don't remember if I did one of these before, soooo. Hello there.
I really like horror: books, movies, comics and looking in the mirror.
The first horror I read was Dracula when I was eleven and I've not stopped since. I also like sci-fi and fantasy. Preferably a blend of the three.
Hi @Adalynn 😊 It's very nice to meet you as well! Thank you. I'm very introverted and typically like to keep to myself. But I love reading and meeting others with similar interests. Thank you for the recommendations! I do love manga so I will definitely check that out as well. ☺️
