Introduce Yourself!
Kimberly wrote: "Welcome Sean! I grew up reading Lovecraft--the books we had at home were Mom's Lovecraft and Poe collections.... I was the only one at school that could pronounce "Cthulhu" in Kindergarten, I'd wager."This group has become terrifying already. Lovely! :-)
LTJ wrote: "@Sean: Welcome and grab yourself a virtual iced hazelnut coffee as we enjoy the weekend :-D"Will do, LTJ. Your reviews are terrific, btw. Insightful and -- my fixation again -- superbly written.
@Sean: Awe, thank you so much for the kind words, my friend! That truly means a lot to hear and fuels me to keep writing them. I hope your next cup of coffee or tea is amazing :-)
I didn't know where else to post. I' haven't been very active in the group and wasn't sure if it was still active or not. But when we have multiple books, do we just pick one or do we have to read them all?
@Ashley: I'm not a moderator or anything but yeah, the group is very active! You can pretty much pick whichever ones you'd like, if you'd like, then jump in whenever you want. I've read group reads months later and just jump into those Discussion threads whenever. You don't have to read anything unless you want to.For me, I just go through each group read and see if I can squeeze it into some other novels from my TBR. Some months I'll do every group read, or just maybe one or two. I've had a few months I didn't do any since I had other novels I needed to read (like all the Holly books before "Holly" by Stephen King was published in September). LoL just depends, really :-)

I'm impressed. I still have to look up how to pronounce that word.
I just can never remember.

Read what you want to read and at your own pace. No one will keep track and no one will judge. The main idea is to enjoy what you read and to discover new authors and new books that you might not have otherwise. AND we take great pride here in growing your TBR list. We're naughty that way. :)

Thanks Kelly. After having a quick peep at your profile and seeing you're into mysteries and thrillers, not to mention horror.... can a put forth recommendations? You obviously know your apples when it comes to said genres..... so this may be akin to trying to teach an Eskimo how to build a snowman..... but - if you haven't already read em - I'd like to suggest Peter Straub's Blue Rose Trilogy - Koko, Mystery and The Throat. Might seem a bit random this, but I'm FOREVER plugging some of Straub's novels. He oughtta be paying me really! : ) Said trio are really worth a go and I'd say tick your 'Thriller' and 'Mystery' boxes for sure.... with the odd spooky bits so ya could add a bit of 'Horror' too. Also..... The Hellfire Club by same author is an excellent read..... pretty hard to beat I dare say. I'd stake my reputation on it... if I had one.
Right... that's my Straub plug done for the week. See ya around. : )

I will share my thoughts when I'm done.
Thanks again - you do apparently, rock!!

He saves the best till last with the trilogy.. that's all I'll say.
Without getting carried away... I'd put The Hellfire Club and The Throat up their alongside my fave books by King and the likes.
Hope you have a good time with em.
Hi! I'm Seth, and I'm a horror reader/writer (moving more towards writing horror, anyways). Usually I take breaks between genres, but I've just been on a horror kick for months now, so I figured I'd cave and pop over here. I've got my MS in forensic science, so I sometimes get excited seeing how people write the forensics in books that depict them just to see if it's accurate, but I prefer horror that's on the odder, inexplicable side.
Howdy y'all im Van and i love Horror stuff like i watch horror movies almost everyday but my fav horror theme is slaughter

Welcome to The Jungle, Seth and Van. It's not one bit a jungle and quite pleasant... I just like saying it. : )Not a bad record either.... even after hearing it a million times.
Hello! Don’t know how active this page is, I’m pretty new here. LOVE horror books and movies. I call fiction the gateway drug of reading lol. Fiction became too boring, turned to murder mystery which became too predictable, horror is scratching the itch I was missing and extreme horror is *chefs kiss*. Love recommendations and I welcome new friends :) Happy reading!
