Welcome new members! This is a great group that will give you lots of recommendations for whatever type of horror you're into.

Hi, I hope to be able to make a few memorable contributions as a new member as time goes by. My "go-to" genres are dark psychological fiction and horror. We just opened our large Halloween Display 9-1-23, and it is dedicated to our favorite holiday and love of the horror genre in film and fiction. Cannot wait to hear book recommendations from members and will share whenever possible.

Hi! I’m April and I only recently got into adult horrors I grew up loving Fear Street so this seems the most natural progression!
@April: Welcome and very awesome! Those are some great books and I also loved the Netflix adaptations of them :-D
Hi all! New to Goodreads here. Big fan of Stephen King and horror in general. Searching for more titles to dig into!
Welcome, Seth! And hey, everyone else. I only just realized I never introduced myself despite posting in this group a couple of times. Oops. I'm E.B., an off-beat weirdo who likes just about any genre as long as the writing's tight and the characters are nuanced. But when it comes to horror in particular, the more atmospheric and psychological, the better. I think real horror is about twisting our perceptions, blasting away firm-seeming truths, and revealing the inherent darkness that lies in the hearts of all of humanity. I'm looking to get into more horror of that type so I'm also glad to take any recommendations you guys have.
Hey all. I love the horror genre because it introduces such bizarre concepts and thought experiments that you often don't get from other genres. H.P. Lovecraft is probably my favorite horror author and a prime example of this. Happy to join and get inspired!
Welcome to all the new members! You've come to a wonderful group and don't forget to grab a virtual French vanilla iced late and coconut macaroons to the left :-)
Hey all. I’m Dave and I’m a horror addict. Good horror, stupid horror, bad horror (movies) it doesn’t matter. I’ll always take a good book or movie recommendation.
Hi y’all, I’m Chrissie. I like to collect YA horror books like Christopher Pike, Point Horror, and Fear Street books. For more modern reads, I love Rachel Harrison, Gillian Flynn, and Victor LaValle. With movies, I like something with a little humor like Dead Alive and The Guest or something with a great tension like The Handmaiden and The Descent.
I’m always looking for creepy new reads or movies and I’m excited to join you all during the eve of spooky season.
@David: Welcome and awesome! LoL same here, love my horror novels and movies... can't get enough of them :-)
I don't think I've introduced myself yet. I'm Shauni. I feel like I'm pretty new to the horror genre, and no one else in my life reads it. My family and friends think I'm weird and are probably worried about me lol. I've enjoyed books by Stephen King, Grady Hendrix, Ronald Malfi, Darcy Coates and T. Kingfisher. I love creepy and haunting books. I've not watched a lot of horror movies. I just enjoy books more.
@Shauni: Welcome, my friend! I'm so glad you're here as I love this group :-DLoL yeah, I get that a lot too... the weird horror guy but eh, I love what I read since I read what I love. You listed some great authors there, I'm also a huge fan of King, Hendrix, and Kingfisher!!!
@LTJ: Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've loved finding some great horror reads. This is such a welcoming group, it's refreshing. I've been on a Kingfisher kick lately. I'm really liking her weird creepy vibes.
hello! im new to reading horror books and sometimes im a little clueless on what to read next considering finding a book in this genre to be super engaging can be tricky lol i would love to get to know you all !
