Greetings HA,My name is JT. I'm a sucker for cosmic horror and devoted to the weird stuff. Books, corny 80's movies, and bands like the Misfits are my jam. I'm a new author and am new to Goodreads as well, looking for great reading selections and friends. Drop me a line if you want to chat or connect.
Take care and stay weird!
@Jonathon: Welcome and very awesome! Ohhhhhhhhhh, I love the Misfits, what an amazing punk band \m/Much respect for being an author and happy writing :-)
@LTJ, thank you! I just saw the Misfits in concert for the first time this summer, and it was everything I dreamed it would be lol
@Jonathan: Anytime and that's so amazing! My last concert was back in 2019 to see the almighty SLAYER one last time before they retired. I'm still sad but will cherish all my Slayerific memories, seen them live 6 times including twice with all four original members \m/
Hello! New to GoodReads this year :) I love horror books and am looking for some active GoodReads friends and people who enjoy the genre. Most people don't understand why I want to read such dark and scary things lol.
@Alex: Welcome and very awesome! You came to a wonderful group as I sent a Friend Request your way :-)LoL yeah, I also get the same from people who get freaked out when I can read the scariest horror novels ever and go to sleep right after with a smile on my face.
Hello! I've had Goodreads for years but this is the first group I've joined. Didn't like reading in school, never felt a connection to the books that were assigned until In Cold Blood, and realized it was because I liked more horror/thriller. Currently reading "When the Reckoning Comes" by LaTanya McQueen. Looking for books with twists that truly shocked you and throw things at you that you never expected, or weird thriller/horror where you're almost afraid to recommend the book to someone new because you think they'll look at you like you're a freak.
Sophie wrote: "Hi everyone, My name's Sophie and I'm from London. I love horror books but can't watch horror films (think it's the music that creeps me out). I particularly love zombie and ghost stories. I'm al..." Sophie, maybe not the traditional Ghost story, but I absolutely loved The Outsider by Stephen King. My favorite book of his.
Welcome to HA, Alex and Sarah!
If you're looking for books with twists you don't see coming, I recommend anything by Catriona Ward.

@Sarah: Welcome and for sure, I can definitely relate to that. Reading in school felt more like work and it was a TON of classic novels which honestly bored me. LoL it wasn't until I was a teenager and picked up a copy of IT by Stephen King that I became hooked to horror and it changed my life :-)Have you read The Housemaid/Housemaid's Secret by Freida McFadden? Not so much horror but some of the best thrillers I've ever read in my life!
Hey everyone! So like most of the intros I am relatively new to the group. I have always loved horror movies and never big into reading. Finally I started getting the itch to read more and naturally gravitated towards Horror as well as Sci-fi. Hadn’t finished a book that wasn’t a school lesson type in a good while so starting out low on the goal list. First official horror read (outside of RL Stine in elementary) was the The Troop by Nick Cutter. Needless to say I’m hooked and love the format of suggestions and lists around here.
@Stu: Welcome and very awesome! Same here, I grew up loving horror movies, especially A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, SAW, American Psycho, etc. :-)Oh that's awesome you read The Troop, I did as well a few years ago and loved it!
Hey everyone!!My name’s Angie, this is my first Goodreads group so I’m very excited! As an October baby, I’ve always loved Halloween and have deeply submerged myself into the horror genre since the age of 5. So I thought this was the perfect group for me. I recently came out of a reading slump caused by mandatory academic readings but not so long ago I picked up The Troop by Nick Cutter and it honestly unraveled my love for books once again. I’m excited to meet fellow book lovers! Thanks for having me :)
Hey guys!My name is Mila, I watch a LOT of horror movies and read creepy books in the past, but I am recently just getting back into reading and would love some recommendations :)
