Horror Aficionados discussion
Introduce Yourself!
Hi, I'm Reanna. I have always been fascinated by the horror genre whether that's reading books, watching movies, or listening to podcasts. I recently started actively reading again and am mainly here to learn about new book recommendations. Nice to meet everyone!
@Reanna: Welcome and very awesome! I also love horror podcasts besides books/movies, do you have any favs/recommendations? I love The Losers' Club Podcast that's all about Stephen King :-DSo glad you're reading again as this group rocks for discovering all sorts of new novels and authors, enjoy!
Hello My name is James Hansen and I just finished and published my first thrilling short story. It’s called “Dark Dinner” and I would love to have the group read it. Sorry last comment was a mess! But I really would love to get some feedback!

Hello All!Recently joined as a author to GR. I've always been into horror from a young age. I like freaky supernatural, gore, and zombies. I took a crack at writing a zombie series I liked them so much.
Recently I've read Paul Tremblay, Nick Cutter, Dean Koontz - All great. I especially like T Kingfisher. Her books are wierd in a good way - "The Twisted Ones" and "The Hollow Places" - fantastic reads!
Hey Richard welcome! I love Tremblay and Nick cutter, their books always hit. I have yet to read the hollow ones but I do have an arc of it so I should probably get on that lol. Welcome to the group!
"I walked a thousand years across the dark to find you."Hello! My name is Amy and I am a lover of all things horror. The majority of the books I read are horror, but not Stephen King. Not a fan of his writing, I do love his movies!
I like to read a lot of authors that might not be so well known. Trends aren't my thing. I do look for new horror to read on a monthly basis though.
Hopefully I can get some great recommendations from this group and make some new friends along the way!

It's a neat concept I haven't seen before.
@Richard: Welcome and very cool you're an author! I love Cutter, Koontz, and recently got into Kingfisher, such amazing authors :-)
@Amy: Welcome and same here with the exception of King! LoL I'm a huge fan of his work but I know what you mean as I also love his movie adaptations. I'm excited since 'Salem's Lot is getting a remake and is coming soon :-DI found so many incredible recommendations here and well, enjoy! This group rocks :-)
It's been a while since I've been active in this group so, I thought I'd reintroduce myself! I'm Hannah and I'm British! I love unreliable narrators and one of my favourite authors' is Ania Ahlborn. I'm currently reading Intercepts by T.J Payne! Some of my favourite books include, The Shuddering, The Deep, Into the Drowning Deep, The Twisted Ones and Penpal!
LTJ, no disrespect to King, I just feel he gets stuck in long descriptions. I did read Misery and loved it! And I am looking forward to Salems Lot as well!
@hannah: Welcome, my friend! I read "Seed" by Ahlborn and ZOMG it was an awesome ready :-DI actually liked it more than The Shuddering but I hope you enjoy all her content as she's such a wonderful author. Happy reading!
@Amy: None taken, my new friend! I know what you mean and hell yeah, LoL Misery is a great and wild read. I can't wait for the fall since we'll have that and a new SAW movie, my heart is filled with joy :-D
Hi y'all. I'm a multi-genre writer with a fondness for horror (I wrote a couple of the "Scary Stories for Sleepovers" middle-reader books, back in the day). Anyway, I'd like to see what the group recommends for good horror reading, and I'm always happy to make new acquaintances who like a scary read. Feel free to add me as a friend.
Greetings all!!! I'm new to goodreads and I am a fledgling author. Any good indie horror book or short story recommendations?
Greetings and salutations friendo Jason.
If you're looking for an indie author, I recommend Mike Duke, especially The Signal and The House of Smarba.
