Horror Aficionados discussion
Introduce Yourself!
@Tracee: Welcome and very awesome to be in a family of big horror fans, that rocks! This is an awesome group :-)
Hey everyone! My name is Taylor and I'm located in Northern California in a small town. I've loved horror since I was a teen and it quickly became an obsession. I primarily watched horror movies, even making blogs to review them throughout the years, but now I've started reading a lot of horror as well and have been loving it, it's such a different dynamic and I can't get enough of it. I'm also an artist, and you would think my love of horror would reflect in my art, but for the longest time it didn't, but I've also started embracing the genre in that medium as well. Can't wait to have a bunch of great discussions with y'all :)
Sup, I am Kang. I’m a long time horror fan, but I took a break from the genre for a few years. Now I’m coming back to see what I missed.
@Taylor: Welcome and very awesome! You came to an excellent group as I'm also looking forward to discussing books and authors with you :-D
Hi Sophie, welcome to HA, if it's books you crave then we won't disappoint, your TBR pile will grow in no time!
Hello all! I'm Amanda and I have always loved horror. My sister is eleven years older than me so whatever she was watching, I was watching lol. A fun story about me is that my favorite movie at the age of 5 was It, but Disney's Pinocchio gave me nightmares. Today I still love watching horror (currently the T.V. show From is my obsession and the last horror movie I watched was The Thing) but now I also read it! I have already read a few horror books this year but the last one was The Groomer by Jon Athan, and am patiently waiting for his next book Blender Babies. My favorite horror to read is when girls are kidnapped and held hostage. If you have any recommendations for me I would love that because I am convinced I have read them all.
Outside of horror, I have two master's (history and teaching), bachelor's degrees in geography and GIS, I love to hike, sing, hang with friends, etc. I have two kids, three cats, two dogs, and two guinea pigs. I am very excited to have found this group!
Hi, my name is Mikael and live in Sweden. I am a huge fan of horror books and movies. I got hooked on horror movies already in the 80´s watching VHS B-movies like "The Warning", "Nightmare city" and also movies by George Romero and off course movies based on Stephen King´s books. But horror books really caught me when I, around 20 years ago, read "The Witching hour" by Anne Rice and also nr 2 and 3 in her series about the Mayfair witches. Fantastic novells and are still among top 10 horror books I have read. The last 2-3 years I have read many books by Graham Masterton and John Saul. But right now I am digging through Stephen King´s "A fairy tale" which is not really a horror book, but still good. Looking forward to chat with others that share this passion. :-)
Hi Everyone! My name is Jen and I live in Northern Wisconsin. I enjoy most genres and really love being a part of Goodreads as I live in a small community with no book clubs or reading groups. I have found so many good books and suggestions from you all! Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!
Hi 👋, I'm Sarah, from Australia. I'm an Artist so I usually listen to Audio books as I work. In my free time I read. Huge Science fiction and horror adict. Though my favorite author is Terry Pratchett. I'm using the Borrow Box app to access free audio books. Nothing like being able to read it yourself though. I'm in Rural Australia so my local library is tiny. Hope you are all well. Happy reading
@Amanda: Welcome and very awesome to hear! I'd suggest "The Ginal Girl Support Group" by Grady Hendrix as what you asked totally reminded me of that, it's a solid novel! Wow, that is so cool you have two masters, much respect! This group rocks as I hope you love it as much as I do :-)
@Mikael: Welcome and very awesome! I've always wanted to visit Sweden as it's on my bucket list! I'm so glad you're enjoying Fairy Tale as I loved it even though it's more fantasy and not much horror. Such an awesome reading adventure :-)
@Sarah: Welcome and wow, much respect for being an artist! I'm doing well and excited for the weekend, hope you are too! Happy reading :-)
Hey there! My name is Ari and I'm a recent college grad. Super excited to have a little more time for some spooky reading. :))
@Ari: Welcome, my new friend! Congratulations on being a recent college graduate, much respect as that's so awesome. You came to a wonderful group, make sure to grab a virtual iced latte and some chocolate chip cookies to the left :-)
Hi, everyone!Apologies for not introducing myself before. My name is Erica and I live in Italy, although I am Spanish by birth. I have been reading horror all my life and, a few years ago, I decided it was time to start writing it as well. I have published a bunch of non-fiction books and some shorts stories.
It is a real pleasure to be part of the group. I look forward to exchanging opinions and book suggestions with all of you!
