hi Alan, as a Herbert fan I always go with haunted, and follow on Ghosts of sleath as my fave, I read The ghost of sleath when i was 16, and its stayed with me ever since
Hi, my name is Macie and my favorite horror genre is extreme horror, such as books by Jack Ketchum and Agustina Bazterrica. I like the milder stuff too, especially Stephen King.
Hi, my name is Sonja, i love horror and weird fiction. I am from Germany but like to read in english (to improve my language skills and because there are so many bad translations out there...)

@Macie: Welcome and very awesome! LoL I just read an extreme horror/splatterpunk book in "Dead Inside" by Chandler Morrison... pure insanity.
@Sonja: Welcome and very awesome! I always wanted to visit Germany for Oktoberfest, hopefully, one of these days :-)
hey, I'm Josh. trying to make better use of a much neglected Goodreads account now that I've finished studying and can once again choose what I read! one of the first horror books I read was The Amityville Horror and from then I was hooked. looking forward to hearing what you all love reading!
Welcome to HA, Josh.
We look forward to watching your TBR reach new heights.
It's what we do here. ;)

Hello I’m Quinn. I really got into horror this past year through film. I’ve seen many freaky flicks, but I also have a love of books. I’ve read the classics like Dracula and Frankenstein but I’m excited to branch out more.
I am currently going through treatment for lymphoma and I have loads of free time on my hands. I decided to start using my old Goodreads account to connect with other people who love horror and love to read <3 happy to be here
@Josh: Welcome and very awesome! Such a classic book and glad that it was your first, for me that would be IT by Stephen King.
@Quinn: Welcome and very awesome! I was the same way, as I got older, I started to appreciate horror novels over horror movies but now have a healthy balance between the two. I hope all your treatments for lymphoma go well and that you enjoy everything you read :-)
Hi, new member here! My name is Diana. My love of horror started with films from a very young age, then I discovered John Saul and was lucky to come across a few other good horror novels (that I don't remember the titles of now), then went through a reading slump that I'm recently recovering from and I'm eager to find some great horror recs through this group (I'm a bit less of a random, non discriminatory reader now as time is precious). I'm not horror exclusive but I prefer a bit of dark in my reading even if what I'm reading isn't necessarily labelled horror.Looking forward testing the waters with you!
Hi, my name is Miriam. I love haunted house horror (books and film). Everything mysterious and ghostly. I like classic and modern gothic novels, too.

Welcome Miriam. Haunted Houses are a particular favorite of mine, too! :)

Hi my name is Matt. I love all things horror. I watch a lot of horror movies and shows as well as read books. My introduction to horror was when I first read goosebumps in the 90s as a kid. I've seen way more movies/shows than I have read horror books though! I even have a love for B-horror movies. The last great horror film I saw was Scream 6 in theaters, I'm a big Scream fan. I also love Stephen king & Jordan Peele. As for books, I am starting to explore to splatter punk/gore/dark romance.
@MiniDee: Welcome and wow, that's awesome! I also went almost a decade without being an avid reader and came back to it in 2021 and have been loving it ever since. I mostly do horror, mystery, suspense, and thrillers so I know what you mean :-)
@Miriam: Welcome and hell yeah, I love haunted house novels! This group is an amazing one as I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :-)
@Matt: Welcome and same here! I love horror novels, movies, even soundtracks while reading horror. LoL we match as I'll never forget growing up with Goosebumps as it planted an early seed of horror for me until I was a teenager and read IT by Stephen King for the first time and have been hooked ever since :-)
Hi, I'm Abi. I love horror and sci-fi, especially the more camp movies like Reanimator, Hellraiser or anything super old and cheesy that uses practical vfx. I've recently finished reading dracula (major Mina Harker fan) and love weird fiction and am super open to any suggestions on what to read next.
Hi I’m Abbi I’m a huge fan of everything horror some personal favourites are Texas chainsaw massacre 2, Marble hornets and the lost boys.
I really love Junji Ito books and I’ve recently finished reading lovesickness and I’m about to read Battle Royale by Koushun Takami
