@Jaz: Welcome and so glad to hear that! Horror is my favorite genre as I also very much enjoyed Mexican Gothic :-)
Hello, I'm Jason, 43. I've never been into reading novels until a stroke screwed up my vision last year and made me photo/light sensitive. So, I picked up an old Kindle, and now it's all e-Ink and large fonts for me! :-) Horror and Thrillers are my favorite genres, the character of my namesake being my favorite. The first horror novel I ever read was The Amityville Horror, back in like 1995. And, two of my favorite authors I've read this year are J.A. Konrath/Jack Kilborn and Dan Padavona.

Welcome to HA, Jason. I also read almost exclusively on a tablet. I have a tablet and a Kindle Paperwhite and I love them both because I can adjust the font and light to meet my eye requirements of the moment. Much better than the old school "large print books" which were very bulky. Do you use audiobooks also?
@Badseedgirl I am slowly switching to all non-backlit devices. I used to use my iPad for everything, but now I can't even look at it. I'm using an old Kindle 4 for reading, and a even older Kindle Keyboard 3 for reference books. I have another Android based e-Ink tablet for Internet, email, writing, etc... I do listen to audiobooks too. Almost everything I am reading is from Kindle Unlimited, so it's hit or miss if there is a free audio version available for what I want to read. But, I try to make sure I always have a couple audiobooks downloaded for those times when my eyes aren't quite up to reading.
Welcome new members I read on my iPad as well currently making my way through the Anne rice vampire novels

This is a fantastic group, and if you're like me, constantly on the lookout for something new in the genre, you'll find a wealth of reading/listening/watching here from the members. This group is absolutely my go-to when I want a suggestion or a review.
@Jason: Welcome and damn, sorry to hear you had a stroke but hope you're doing better these days. I also love my Kindle as I feel it makes me read faster and not deal with any distractions or anything, you know? You found a great group as I look forward to future discussions with you :-)
Welcome Jason! Sorry to hear about your struggles, but glad you’ve found a way to still consume and enjoy stories! You’re in the right place if you love horror :)
Hi. My name is David. I’m a fan of horror and thriller books. I also recently published my first book as a writer as well.
I’m on here looking for a community of horror readers to influence my reading choices and also discuss what I’ve already read.
Hello everyone! My name is Sarah and horror and reading are 2 of my favorite things. I used to read all the time and I fell off for a while (probably due to my undiagnosed ADHD at the time). Now that I have that under control, I've jumped right back in with a vengeance! I can read multiple books at one time and be able to go back to each one knowing exactly where I left off. I'm always looking for suggestions for new books to read as well as give my opinion on books I've maybe already read. Nice to meet everyone :)
Hi Sarah. I am jealous of the ability to read multiple. I am an “all-in” reader. I wish o could read more passively at times.
@Sarah: Welcome, my friend! LoL exactly the same here as I love horror, reading, and metal :-D. I'm glad you're back into being an avid reader again as it's such a wonderful hobby :-D
@David Hey there! I've always been able to do it and a lot of people don't understand how I can. I think a lot of it is that I lose my focus and pick up something else and then just keep going back and forth until one is finished lol

Personally I find that I read what I need at the time as I vary between fiction and non fiction. Horror authors I enjoy - Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Michael McDowell, John Saul to name a few that I am currently revisiting and reading.

Hi David. Wow - Congratulations on having your first book published, that is a big accomplishment. Very exciting.
I have only been a member here for a short time, but definitely a wonderful group of people.

LOL yes I am that old, 58. The Entity which came out around the same time was another creepy read, also based on a true story if you enjoy that type of book.
Hi. I'm Bernard Mulholland and I am author of Nazareth Quest, which is a thriller. I lean towards horror and the occult, and as a callow youth I used to like Dennis Wheatley novels that were often turned into Hammer horror films.
Thank you so much for your welcome - I appreciate it! Looking forward to reading comments made by others.
David wrote: "Thanks Elaine. Appreciate it. 😁"@David My pleasure. Books have been a major part of my life as an avid reader. Greatly appreciate those who are able to write and share their craft with the rest of us.
Hi everyone! My name is Lauren and I'm a fan of anything horror. I got back into reading and I'm excited to see all the suggestions here!
