Hello everyone. My name is Maarten, and I am binging horror books lately. It's about time for me to widen my horizon beyond King and Lovecraft. I'm looking forward to reading along with the group and discussing the books. I think it'd be lovely to be part of a community that shares the passions in which I'm currently indulging. Really curious about the recommendations that I'll no doubt pick up here, and I hope to hear a lot of different perspectives on spooky literature (:
@Maarten: Welcome and very awesome! I found a TON of new novels and authors thanks to this amazing group, enjoy :-)
Hi everyone! I'm Emily, I really enjoy horror and I'd love to find people to discuss it with - my two favorites of all time are House of Leaves and The Haunting of Hill House (something about scary locations, I guess...) so if anyone else has been dying to talk about either of those please talk to me :)
@Emily: Welcome and great choices there! I loved The Haunting of Hill House, even the Netflix show rocked! LoL I'm always down to chat about either so looking forward to future discussions with you :-)
Hi Emily! I really love The Haunting of Hill House and I'm dying to read House of Leaves! Since you like scary locations, have you ever read Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia? I strongly recommend it :))
Hi! My name is Bug, I love psychological horror or thriller and growing my library! I’ve struggled to read when I was young but I recently had a baby and have had more down time while nursing to read and focus on being home. I’ve loved reading and just want to become the nerdiest about horror books! I enjoy reading things that leave me WTFing or emotional. I’ve always been a lover of explicit taboo dark things.
@Tanya: Welcome and awesome, I also love psychological horror, mystery, suspense, and thrillers! Congratulations on your new bundle of joy and super glad you're back into being a horror nerd like the rest of us :-D
Hi everyone!I'm Rachel and I work at an independent bookstore in California. Reading has always been a comfort, I stopped reading for pleasure while I was in college (kind of ironic?), but as always, reading found it's way back into my life ❤️. I love all types of genres, gothic fiction and horror are definitely my go-to. Just finished reading Come Closer by Sarah Gran and currently reading A History of Fear by Luke Dumas. I am thrilled to be amongst a group of fellow horror book lovers!
Hello, I have been a fan of horror all my life. Goosebumps were some of the first books to get me into reading and I continued in the genre ever since. I love suggestions and have read a good many if anyone wants any from me.
@Rachel: Welcome and that's so awesome you work at a bookstore and you got back into reading. I absolutely LOVED Come Closer as that was one freaky read. Looking forward to future discussions with you :-)
@Linus: Welcome and you brought me back! I grew up with Goosebumps as they were some incredible horror books. You came to the right place as lots of suggestions will be found through here :-D
Diana wrote: "I am Diana! I own a comic book store Tennessee. I love books in general, but horror is my happy home! I can knock out about 4 books a week, so please send me recommendations! Feel free to add or me..."I am also a Horror fan from Tennessee. Welcome to HA!
