Hey! I’m new to goodreads! I like horror/thriller books, shows and movies! I have a lot of interests and can’t wait to get lots of good suggestions!
hi Eve, I read Dracul this year, not really scary, but it did have a good atompher, some of thr classic ghost stories by M R James are truly creepy, James Herbert is my fave, and most of his books are horror gold, On more thing, if you like horror, visit Youtubd and there is a short animated movie called one winters night, I highly recommend you watch it, its both haunting and scary!
Hi! I’m Kyle. Just joined the group. Live in Ohio. Teach writing for Kent State. And I write all sorts of dark speculative fiction, including horror. Fave recent read: NEGATIVE SPACE by B.R. Yeager.
Hi Kyle,
I did read that you make more money teaching creative writing than creatively writing :)

Hello everyone, I’m Tim. I’m a big horror fan and always on the lookout for a good darker read. I’ve lurked this board a few times and decided it was time to just join. I may not participate in every group read, but I’ll try to join up as much as I can.
Welcome onboard Tim! never tried a group read, may even join you.

I love the Ghosts of Sleath too, I read it on a flight to Australia just after it came out! Also love The Dark, Ash and The Survivor! Such a fantastic writer!
Alec i know it was writen years before but i always saw The Survivor as a trial run for the ghost of sleath, After all both of them deal with mass haunting, I did like Ash, But i think it was the lest of the 3 Ash books, Did you find anything strange about James death, the fact that no reason was given always had me scratching my head, i mean he was only in his 60s
I think I remember reading somewhere that he had cancer, although that might just be my memory playing tricks on me! I guess that there was enough of a storm around his last couple of novels that might have annoyed certain member of society - his death was such a huge loss, I wonder how many more books he might have written?

Absolutely, The Fog as well, I seem to remember was criticised for a couple of scenes. Difficult balance for a writer to get right I think, but if you're writing horror the clue is in the genre! It's horror!
yes, it was his hard style of horror that I liked, Oh don't get me wrong there are some hard parts to parts to read, but it was also full of atomphear and menis,

Hello, I'm James I'm a new reader and also a Horror fan, as I just got myself a kobo libra ereader I decided to join the group.I'm into the darkest side of depravity, I like anything offensive and socially unacceptable and the average slasher just won't cut it for me!
I like exciting Horror, I want to be scared (everythings failed so far) I want to be anxious, shocked, terrified to turn the page and a good sick & twisted story is a must.
I will be joining in on the group reads starting from may.
Cheers 😘
