Hey hey. Thanks for letting me join the group! I just started using Goodreads again this year to help me hit my reading goals and discover some new authors. I love horror and have really enjoyed some of the indie and small press stuff I've been reading lately.

Welcome H.L., Laura, Kurt, Ben, and anyone else I missed! You will find some amazing reads through this group - I know I have! :)
Hey, I'm looking for actual horror novels. Most suggestions I receive are more action than horror. I want to be traumatized for days or even weeks after reading a horror novel. I don't think I've read a book that has done this, hopefully being in this group will change that.
Also Ketchum's Off Season.. read it 10 years ago almost to the date and still get chills up to my eyeballs just thinking about it.
Hi. I'm Kimberly. I started reading horror books in 5th grade - Stephen King was the first author I read. I love things that scare me to death and am always looking for something new. I hope to get some good suggestions from this group. I have already noted down some that I have seen mentioned here. Thank you.
Hi all! I joined a while ago but have been lurking. I recently got into horror last year, and it's become one of my favorite genres (even though I usually have to sleep with the light on after particularly scary books...). Hoping to get (and maybe give!) some good suggestions and maybe make some new friends. :)
Hi Autumn! Some of my best friends are lurkers :-) It's great genre to be into but be careful. It can get into your head. Speaking of sleeping with the light on... Was woken up last night by my wife screaming and pointing at the door to our room. We have a 70 Pound Golden Doodle that was barking it's head off. Once I was awake I jumped out of bed and charged into the loft. Nothing there. Nothing behind the shower curtains. (What a horror show moving those). Finally got back in bed. Was too lazy to check the first floor so lay there wondering what kind of motion sensors I should add while trying to fall back asleep...
Long story short she heard thumps. The thumps were probably our cat. She needs to go on a a cat diet cause when she jumps off the bed now she thumps.. The one thing that can make our dog jump up and start barking out of the blue is when the cat runs by and jumps off the bed.
Anyway! Enjoy the horror. Sleep is for the weak :-) Just think of all the new things you'll be able to imagine are hiding behind those shower curtains!
Hi, my name is Cheryl and I write horror as C. S. Alleyne. It's funny but it doesn't matter what I start writing it always becomes very dark! Carrie and especially The Stand by you-know-who gave me a life long love of the genre and I've read all the greats and love finding new authors as well as new publications by old favourites. I'm looking forward to being part of this group although I have to admit sometimes I may become a lurker simply because there is only so much time in a day! Can't believe how productive some people are on here (not just volume of reading but very long reviews too) - I am very impressed lol!
Hello! My name is Justin Fulkerson. I have been a horror fan as long as I can remember. My father bought me Cujo my first Stephen King novel (against my mother's wishes) when I was 12 years old. Since then I have read all his works and several others also. I began writing horror/fantasy during junior high school in the early '90s. In the early 2000's I finished my first novel. On Writing by Stephen King made me finally sit down and complete it. Since then, I have published 6 novels with 2 different publishers before reacquiring my rights and self-publishing on my own. Now, with 8 books under my belt and one collection of stories out there, I am working on four different projects and struggling to finish at least one of them soon!
Howdy. I'm new here... Cool group. If you're interested to know more about me... you can check out my profile.
Hello, everybody, I hope all of my fellow Americans are doing well. I live in southeastern Washington State and it eve hit us! Very surprisihng.
Greetings and salutations friendo Tara. Just look around the forum and you'll find more recs than you'll know what to do with. ;)
Greetings, formies, new here & excited to dig my claws into some writhing atrocities in the art form of literature. I loooove the smell of books. Not a big fan of digital scrolling. I enjoy my reading corner at home...
Enticed by the darker side of life and art- embrace the strange.
Looking forward to the adventure of exploring new pieces & to meeting fellow avid readers.

Hi, all, I was recommended to join this page recently so here I am. I am a fiction author of mostly horror-related stories, with 3 novels & 9 movie scripts so far. Right now, I am editing a novel I originally released in 2012 for a fresh new release this coming July. I enjoy most genres, so have no idea why I chose horror to write about. I'm hoping to write a Lockdown style horror script with my son after my edits are finished on my novel, so keep in touch if you want.
Hey everyone! I'm Nick. I've been on Goodreads since 2017 but didn't become active until very very recently. I have been addicted to horror since I was seven years old. My favorite horror topics include: Haunted hospitals, haunted schools, haunted/killer dolls/toys, clowns/circuses/carnivals and anything generally about the paranormal. I love Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Joe Hill, and Bentley Little.
