Hello Everyone. My name is Kyra. I enjoy horror movies. My coworkers think that I am weird. I've read some horror book, but they never really had that scare factor for me. If anyone has any recommendations let me know.

Hello, my name is Paige. I love horror stories! I'm not big on books that are gore fests; I prefer ghost stories and things of that nature. It's fine if there's some gore, I'm just not interested in books that are written for the sole purpose of grossing me out.
Not much to say about myself, aside from reading, I also enjoy flavored tea, scented wax melts, and candles. I'm also on Instagram as paige.macabre. (It's a new account I created just for my reading.)
It's nice to meet you all.

Hello everyone! I'm Ross from Oxfordshire in the UK, and I'm fairly new to enjoying horror lit (Dr Who gave me nightmares as a child which I think put me off for a bit). I've found I really enjoy weird fiction - I've recently thoroughly enjoyed Her Body and Other Stories, and The Things We Lost in the Fire - but I'm also partial to a good ghost story or folk horror. I have also enjoyed more classical fiction, like Blackwood, Poe and Lovecraft.
I also think I have a weird niche for dance horror movies (like Gaspar Noe's Climax or Suspiria)!
Right now I'm working my way through the excellent compendium The Weird, as well as the audiobook of the Blackwater Saga.
I'm looking forward to the group reads and discussions - I don't know anybody irl who actually enjoys horror.
Welcome to HA, Ryan, Paige and Ross! I'm sure you'll find all kinds of recommendations here that are to your liking!
Hi!I just found this group! I've been a horror/thriller addict since I was a child. I remember reading Pet Cemetary wayyy back in 6th grade (I'm 43 now ha!) and loving every minute of it. I couldn't get enough.
I'm also always on the hunt for new to me books to read.
Hi I'm Julia and I am a horror fan from Canada! Some of my favourite authors are Darren Shan and Stephen King. Any good horror book recommendations would be awesome!

Hi Ryan, I'm a fan of all of those authors too, most especially Michael McDowell. Welcome to HA!
Hello Everyone,I'm Samantha K. from Alberta, Canada. I have been following a lot of horror-lovers on Twitter and noticed this was a Community too! So here I am. I love all things horror. I write short horror stories in my spare time when I'm not reading or watching something scary.
I'm currently reading Lullabies for Suffering, edited by Mark Matthews.
I am pleased to make your acquaintance. :)
Hi Horror Fans - I'm Ron, from south central PA, US.
I've been dosing with horror since I was 6, to help keep more realistic anxieties in a manageable perspective. Hurray for disfuctional families, amirite? Horror interests extend to reads, art, movies, and theatrical endeavors (like designing and helping to run Halloween attractions).
I hope to find gems with you guys, seeing as soo much horror is disappointing (to put it mildly). Recently read Song Of Kali, Dan Simmon's first, and loved it. It's definitely of the type I'm interested in finding - books that make you say "Why the hell aren't all horror fans familiar with this?!".
Looking forward to finding reader friends.
Welcome Ron!
I'm originally from PA. It's a nice part of the world.
But I'm happy to be living where no snow ever falls now.

Hello everyone, I'm Vincent. I just found goodreads. This is the first group I've joined. I enjoy most genres but horror is my favorite. I'm interested in any suggestions for any other groups or events. Also, I'm up for any suggestions about books or movies flying under the radar.
Personally I prefer short stories and shows, like Tales From the Crypt, to novels and movies. But I love it all.
Hey everyone!Horror consumer here. I love books, movies, series, podcasts, art, etc.. I in fact am a photographer and I bend towards the spooky and unnerving, and also just started an online magazine with friends called Lost Letters Magazine.
Glad to find like minded fiends. Please do say hello <3
