Welcome, Alicia. This group will supply you with an abundance of great new horror authors to discover and your bookshelves will soon be groaning in protest.

Hello everyone, I'm Mers, and I love horror fiction. My favorite genre is the haunted house ghost story, archeological horror, anything with demons =) I had stopped reading for a long time, (years!) but last December I realized how much I missed it. The last book I just finished was The Haunting of Ashburn House by Darcey Coates and I am reading The Devil in the White City as of now. Looking forward to finding new books to read here!
Hi fellow horror aficionados, I'm a writer and like all writers, reviews are my life blood and I need topping up.My horror titles are 'To Hell and Back' centred around Jack the Ripper and 'Murder by Illusion' where a failed stage magician sells his soul to the Devil in exchange for fame.
So, if anybody has read my books, please review. Many thanks.
I also write crime but that is another story.
Giles
Hello! I'm brand new to Goodreads and have no idea what I'm doing. But I'm looking forward to learning the ropes and participating in this group with you all.!
Hi everyone!! I can't remember if I've already posted here or not, so if I have, apologies for my terrible memory. I've been lurking around for a couple of months and thought it him to say hi. I'm glad I came across this group because I love horror but find it difficult to find really good horror books. I've already been introduced to a few since bein here, so Thank You!!
I love horror stories about lost ancient cities and ruins with supernatural connections, as well as a good old haunted house ghost stories, so if you've got any recommendations, send them my way!!
Hello everyone,My name is Paul Pappas and I thank you for having me in this group. I am an aspiring writer of horror fiction and right now I'm working on my first book. I love horror movies and TV shows and I like to read. I joined this because it checked all those boxes and because I'm hoping to meet new people and hopefully make good writing contacts.
Hi everyone. I was going to say Guys and Ghouls but figured I'd instantly get ostracised, so thought better of it.I thought I had introduced myself when I first joined, but it appears not, so I'm sorry if that seemed rude.
I'm Daniel James, and I've loved monsters and horror since Salem's Lot creeped me out and the original Elm Street scared the yellow stuff out of me, so it's great to see so many other disturbed individuals on here.
I'm an author of horror and thrillers, and when I'm not writing, I'm reading, watching movies, or generally wasting my life.
Thanks
HelloI live under the monniker of Spiteful_Malice, spite or malice for short.
As a child I had very vivid nightmares that stole precious hours of sleep from me. These dreams worsened after watching horror movies like Halloween and other cult classics. In the teen years I was very much into body horror and supernatural monsters.
At this point in life I love slasher movies very much and i read a lot of horror books but my horror taste has evolved a lot.
I rarely read any monster or killer books since I find most of them boring. I read cosmic horror and philosophical horror which extends into pessimism and nihilism.
For people who are unfamiliar with this: I read horror novels that can be considered non-fiction since they usually discuss the human condition. This is the best horror one can experience as you can really become scared of reading these books.
I will give a few examples of books I read and want to read that are about this kind of horror:
Thomas Ligotti's The Conspiracy Against the Human Race and My Work Is Not Yet Done
At some point in life I will probably read
- In the dust of this planet
- Starry speculative corpse
- Tentacles longer Than night
- Infinite resignation
Currently reading:
- Marquis de Sade 120 days of Sodom
- Lovecraft Volumes 2 through 4
I like discussions with people about the concept of horror and how to implement if effectively in movies and books. Also I like to discuss philosophy but I rarely find anyone willing, maybe on here some kindred spirits will be encountered.
Best regards
Spiteful_Malice

Hello Spite, I hear you loud and clear. I love horror movies and books, but over the past few years, I have acquired a lot of books about true paranormal stories and events. For me, true horror is in the idea the horror we see in horror fiction; maybe is not so fictional after all. Those books are on my TBR list. If you're interested I'll send you a few titles and maybe we could do a joint read and open a new thread, some day? Just say the word.
Hello all new members. I’ve been busy camping and have not been checking in. Welcome to all of you. :)
A series of fortunate events released me from the Lovecraft County Jail only to strand me on the King Reservation. Looking to regain the thrill of horror reading.
Hello! The Shinjng my first and favorite Horror! Helter Skelter my first True Crime! Both early High School in the 80s😁
