Hello everyone, new member to the group! I've only ever used Goodreads as a mean to track books that I want to read/are reading/read, but I've been wanting to join a group to help me find more!My favorite genre of books is thriller/horror, more particularly creepy/psychological that leave you with your mouth wide open.
Wow, thank you everyone for the nice reception and comments! Sounds like I found a cool group!
Hello there! I'm a fan of horror movies wanting to get into horror novels, too. When I was younger I used to read Goosebumps and Stephen King, now I want to try my hand at some other horror titles! This looks like a good place to get recommendations :)
Best group on the internets, Brian! Welcome to HA, Klaus. We have so many recommendations. Hold on to your wallet!

I am an Author who has books listed here
Jason Kondrath
I am a writer who specialized in satire when I was in high-school. I wrote may featured articles that were eventually printed in regional and national magazines.I never liked "Horror" movies as they were presented in the Movies.
Slasher Movies, are not scary, I never liked the idea of someone getting killed for some else's pleasure.
Honestly Serial Killer Movies like Saw, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St, and Halloween Part 57 (or whatever) is an old, antiquated and ridiculous and boring concept all based on the "Boogie-Man." The creature that can never die. Or one who refuses to stay dead.
The reason I write horror, is only because I myself have had so many unusual experiences in my life.
I'm talking about things that would give a normal person a nervous breakdown. And believe me, I've been there. I lived in four houses that were "Distressed," they were so bad that after we sold them the owners had them torn down, because they were UNINHABITABLE.
So after many years, I decided to write these things down as a form or therapy.
To make it more entertaining I included realistic elements of both sex and violence, and I coined this new genre Eros Macabre (which is really just a combination of horror and erotica).
What are the two most popular types of films? Porn and Horror. Or said another way Sex and Violence.
I don't know why but for some reason there have tried to mix genre's before, like Horror and Comedy. Both good in their own respect, but horrible together. Like Peanut Butter and Ketchup, instead of Peanut Butter and Jelly.
I got it right thou.
My first book, "Yes Master: Rise of the Witch," was about a beautiful thirteen year old redhead who practices witch-craft to protect herself from Rape and Incest. It was very contemporary and realistically written, so much so, that Amazon banned the printed version and now the uncut version is only available in E-format on my private website:

Friday evening when I was in the kitchen facing the counter and the window, I saw a shadow move behind me, creating a dark moving image across the cabinet and window shades. I was alone. I checked the dining room / living room. Nothing. If I moved in the living room, the shadow I threw was not large enough and created an outline of a human. What I saw was something that moved behind me in the kitchen. I realized this later.
It was, I swear, real.
I know that I write horror fiction, but this was not fiction.
