You're not far from where my latest novel is set; Gatlinburg, Cherokee, and Asheville.
Welcome K@Ronald- very close to Gatlinburg! That’s great. Not too many horror stories set near us. Let me know when it’s out.
Welcome K!!Alan, I thought the power that be (aka Mods) had sent out a mass horror-author invite to join lol
Great to have so many horror authors here!
Hello, my name is Kim and I am trying to find a writing group who enjoy horror/paranormal stories and can just talk about books and how to write and be a great author.
Thank you everyone. I would love to hear about your favorite books, what you like/dislike. I am a beginning writer and trying to find my niche. I've taken a couple of writing classes but one instructor doesn't like anything I do, so now I'm not sure if I can accomplish my goal.

Hee hee hee. Seriously though. Tell me. I will read that.
Hi there, My name's Jonny and I'm a soon-to-be horror author (eta March/April/May) that can't get enough horror books, movies, you name it. I'm so glad to be here and connect with my people!
Hi, everyone! My name is Laura and I'm a huge fan of horror... well, everything. But especially books. They were my gateway into the horror genre when I first read a horror book aged 12, and since then I just can't get enough go it. I'm happy to have found this group!
Ronald wrote: "Howdy, K & Kim! You'll like it here. A lot of nice, horror-loving folks in this group."Ronald, you are an author and I need help. Do you ever review someone's work? I've been rejected 2x now and one is by a horror magazine. I wrote a story that was good in a class I took but there must be something wrong and I need an author who has been published to tell me what I'm doing wrong. I want this so bad, but now I'm afraid.
Hi everybody, I'm Jon. I've been a fan of horror on and off for most of my adulthood, but lately I can't get enough. All I have been reading is horror related and most of what I watch is also. I'm also a father, a writer, and I work in emergency communications. I'm excited to be here and meet new people. Thanks and have a great day!

Check your messages, Kim.
Hello, I'm Chad Fjerstad. I'm 34 and I live in Los Angeles.I've written 2 novels and they're both hard to categorize but both feature elements of psychological and, on occasion, more traditional horror.
My first, Popping Cherries, is a coming-of-age tale of a 13 year old kid who gets carried away peeping in on a girl from his junior high class, while being swayed by a new ADD medication his parents put him on. The medication doesn't sit right with him and he starts to grow delusional, leading him to believe that a certain kind of monsters are in fact stalking him. But, is he right, or are they real? It reads like a perverted Goosebumps book for adults.
My second, Warship Satan, is the story of a rudely naive death metal bassist whose obsession with sex and the impractical practice of satanic rituals lead him down a treacherous path. When the band can no longer maintain itself he relocates to a cultish island to get into the porn industry and there, the existential horror unfolds through the evil of human behavior itself. This one is about 5x as perverted as the first book... very sex-centric, but with great purpose.
I also perform in adult films and play in a multitude of music projects myself (shocker, right?). If you're interested, please check out my books on Amazon or the website for my own imprint, Ephemerol Night Terrors. www.ephemerolnightterrors.com
Thank you!
Warship Satan
I just did a search of all my comments on this board and apparently, I've been stalking you guys for the past 5-6 years, leaving a few random comments here and there, without ever even introducing myself. How rude!My name' s Elena (not the one who apparently missed a period a few years back ;) ), I was born in Spain, raised in Germany and been living in the US for about 15 years. Currently we reside in sunny Florida. (Does that make me "Florida Woman"? I hope not!)
Anyway, you might have guessed it: I love Horror, been hooked ever since I read
back in the 80s.I like visiting HA for book recommendations, and have seldom been disappointed with your suggestions. You're an awesome group and I pledge to be more sociable in the future.
Elena

If you don't mind me saying so, I read your bio and wish to point out a typo. I don't think you just gazed intensely in your ghost documentary. I'm betting you starred in it. ;)
