SOLVED. 1970s-1980s kids' book about ice skater named Dani who leaves home to train [s]

I'm looking for a children's chapter book from the 1970s or 1980s about an ice skater named Dani who leaves home to train. She moves in with another family and is forced to cut her hair short by her new coach. I thought it was named Chance of a Lifetime or Once In a Lifetime, but can't find it under either name. The cover I had was blue/green with a picture of the girl skating on it.
