I'm sure I look like that after a day of invigilation. It's the beady-eyed, thousand yard stare ... Puts the wind up those kids who think they'll get away with playing up.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA.
Possibly the funniest post so far on this group.
She'd not starve, anyway.Just got the test results.
Negative.
That's alright then but means I need to kick arse for more tests.

good news
Now to get you a really heavy pair of boots in your size :-)
Hope you get some proper answers soon Patti. I need more cuddles, looks like my neighbour is going to have to have her eldest cat pts tomorrow, that'll be 3 in 6 weeks. She's the last of her original cats, and has lived on this street longer than me.

Oh Delsey I do feel for you. Hugs.Somebody or something always dies at Christmas making it a time of wailing and gnashing of teeth for everyone. Our family is no different. Big hugs from me to all of you.
Also some bricks for Patti's doc battering sock.
Cheers

Ironically my neighbours cat perked up overnight, we don't know how long we have but hopefully over Christmas
That's great news Desley. I always say another day, another cuddle, that's good enough for now. Hope you feeling bit brighter sweetheart.
My dear cat, Pharaoh, of nearly 16 years passed away at 4pm yesterday. I live alone. He was a house a cat and I've had him since a kitten, so all he's ever know in his life was me. He behaved more like a dog than a cat.Luckily I was in at the time.
I was resting in the bedroom and heard a coughing sound, looked around and he was lying on his side by my bed with his mouth slightly open.
I immediately picked him off the floor, cradled him in my arms like a baby and sat on the edge of the bed. His limbs had no life in them but his body was still warm.
I gently repeated his name hoping I could somehow revive him.
He raised his head and looked at me directly in the eyes for about 10 seconds, coughed twice and then his head fell limp against my chest. He was gone.
I'm burying him at my parents family home today. Say goodbye and then try and adjust after 16 years of companionship.
So sorry for the loss of your fur baby. It sounds he went peacefully.after 16 years of love and companionship it is hard for you. Hugs to you.
I'm so sorry to hear this, it's much harder to accept when it's unexpected, glad you were there with him.
Oh, how sad...my thoughts are with you.All I can say is that you gave each other many wonderful years and were really lucky to have each other and you know you gave him the best possible life filled with love.
You must have many lovely memories of your wonderful friend and companion. He'll always be with you though.
Oh I'm so sorry. Losing a loved pet is just the hardest thing. As the owner of a succession of 'dog cats' although to be honest, most of them owned me, I can sympathise our last one was about 16 too. For what it's worth, it sounds as if he had a good death, and went contented and knowing he was loved. It still must have been a horrible shock but I guess the upside of it being sudden is that there was no long illness he was hale and hearty and living a full and glorious life right up to his last few minutes. Many hugs.
Cheers

I'm so sorry for your loss. Our house cat, Tish, also more dog than cat-like, died in my arms many years ago. She is still very much missed, along with her adversary, Phipps and, of course, Leo, our dog, who died a year ago. They leave such huge holes when they go.

He behaved more ..."I am so sorry to hear that, but at least you were there and that is very special to them, though hard for us. True companion cats like that leave a big hole in our hearts. When I lost my himmie, Woolly Bear, after a heart attack that too was unexpected. It was Bank Holiday, past one in the morning, and she started coughing and collapsed. Like you, I picked her up and cradled her and talked to her. She rallied so we took her straight to an emergency vet thirty miles away. She seemed much better and they reckoned it was asthma and told us we should take her to our own vet next day. He hospitalised her and I will always wish I hadn't consented because she died alone that night in her cage. If I had known she would be left alone I would have kept her home. It turned out it was hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and she had a huge clot in her heart which would have killed her. It was untreatable. She was such a snuggler I miss her to this day. You will probably always miss Pharoah, but the pain will ease. Sending lots of hugs.
