Melissa | 1245 comments Nikita, I stayed up WAY too late last finishing The Iron Duke and it was SO worth it! 5 star read for me. LOVE this series now. LOVE this author now. Thanks for picking it, but I'll be honest, after reading the prequel novella at the end of March, I was gonna read it anyway, but thanks for making it "count" ;)

loved loved the Iron Seas series, but I just could NOT take her other series, the Demon something or other. I nearly had to claw my eyes out by the end of the first book...

I wish she would finish the series but it doesn't look like its happening any time soon. :/

Ty | 1943 comments first update!

10. Skandia - Vain - Fisher Amelie - 4/3
A nice surprise! I love the redemption of the MC and watching her transformation from Paris Hilton to Humanitarian of the Year. Unbelievable, right? Basing each book on the seven deadly sins is a great premise. I have reservations about starting the 2nd as the reviews have stated the MC from that one does a complete 180. hmmm. Thanks for the rec, Skandia (and Angi who also picked it for me)!

14. Vi - Heart of Obsidian - Nalini Singh - 4/5
Okay... this was a 3 star read for me... I know, I know! I'm in the minority here. I guess I was never a fan of the Psy part of this entire series. The changelings are just more connectable to me, their stories more relatable. With the exception of Judd - I have to yet to smuggle hug any of the other Psy's who have decamped. I should really, really love Kaleb's story, but I guess it never hit me with the warm fuzzies. ah well. Thanks for the push, Vi! (Gianna & Aarati, also!)

message 263: by Hadley (new)

Hadley | 68 comments Grace I finished Genetic Attraction (Genetic Attraction, #2) by Tara Lain today...I so loved it...very hawt! Thanks for the pick.

Good to know! I get a little overzealous when I fall in love with a new-to-me author so thanks for the heads up!

Melissa | 1245 comments Leslie, I finished The Handmaid's Tale last night and I am still digesting this one. I am SO completely disturbed and intrigued at the same time. As I was reading, I kept thinking to myself "this is on the 12th grade reading list?" and thinking how I would have reacted at 17/18 to be reading this. Are my feelings of horror and fear because I am an adult and a mother and would I have reacted differently to this book as a young adult? This is DEFINITELY one that will haunt me forever, (which is a good thing) so thanks for the push to read it!

Yay I'm so glad! I really love the diversity of paranormal, for lack of a better word in my tired brain, creatures that permeate the series. And I just love all the Valkyrie. They're so much fun!

Katie | 2083 comments Hey Nan!

I finished up Taking Shots today. It started out great! I would say I was really enjoying the first half...4 stars probably. Unfortunately, it just went on and on and on and Elli's hang ups were getting so annoying by the end of the book I was ready to slap her. Also, I always hate when authors throw in the big misunderstanding for the sake of conflict. When all was said and done, I ended up rating this 2 stars. Thank you for moving it off the to-read pile! :)

message 278: by Shelby (new)

Shelby (stang_lee) | 1994 comments Mandy I'm going to post this to both threads since you so lovingly picked this book for me for both GB and M&G. :D Thank you thank you! I really love this series and I can't wait to read the next book. 4.5 stars overall with my review here if you're interested. :D
