Laura I really liked the girl you left behind. What did you think if it?

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, Laura,

I haven't read it yet. I'm actually compiling a list of the books I want to challenge myself to read. Once I start reading you'll probably see check marks, completion dates, and maybe ratings.

I read Me Before You last year and loved it, so I don't think I can go wrong with this one.

ally ¯\(ツ)/¯ (allykennedy) | 1002 comments What did you think of Innocence? I've been curious about it but haven't taken the plunge.

Ally, I personally loved the story. The writing is very descriptive almost poetic, which I realize may annoy some people, but I loved that about the book. I totally fell in love with the main characters. I found it very different from what Koontz has done in the past (say Intensity for example), so that may also factor into how a book is received by a reader. If you've got a Kindle, download a sample to see if you might enjoy the writing.

ally ¯\(ツ)/¯ (allykennedy) | 1002 comments I've never read a Koontz book before. The ratings seem to be quite mixed, but I imagine if its not what his following is used to, that could explain it.
Thanks for letting me know! Descriptive is a MAJOR plus. So many authors don't seem to even bother with world building these days.

Then I think you might like it. This is one of those books that I guess you either hate or like. If you do read it, let me know if you liked it. I would also highly recommend Intensity as one of his best books. I read it AGES ago and it had me on the edge of my seat. I still remember the plot. A thriller for sure!

ally ¯\(ツ)/¯ (allykennedy) | 1002 comments Will do! Thanks :)
