"How old?" He asked curiously.

She shrugged. "From the old world maybe? Or just a couple of years old." She laughed. "Doesn't matter, I'm not picky."
"They wouldn't have stuff from the old world in here." Nicholas said, shaking his head. "But a couple of years I can do." He showed her some books he thought she might like though he hadn't read half of them.
"Oh." She said a little bit disappointedly. "and ooh, I haven't read most of these. Thanks!" She grinned and started looking through the books.
He smiled, glad she liked the books he had shown her.
She continued poring throughout the books. "Yay, thank you again." She looked up and grinned. "Which was your favorite?" She asked.
"I haven't read these for years." He said, shaking his head. After a few moments he tapped the spine of an old leather bound book.
She looked at the book he tapped. "Okay, I'll read this first!" She grinned. ((bouncing now))
He smiled. "I hope you like it then." He said.
"I'm sure that I will." She quickly went up to the librarian to check out the book. She then returned over to Nicholas.
Nicholas was wating for her and paging through a newer looking book.
She walked back over to Nicholas. "Okay, I'm good now!" She grinned. "Is that book interesting?"
"You tell me." He said and showed her the book full of foreign characters.
She blinked. "I don't know that language. What language is it?" She cocked her head.
She laughed. "Hmm, maybe it's one of the old languages!" Her eyes lit up.
"Or just from another country." He said, his brow raised.
She sighed. "Yeah, that's true. Way to be a Debby downer." She stuck her tongue out at him.
He rolled his eyes. "Sorry for crushing your dreams Lil."
"It's okay." She smiled. "I knew it was a rare chance anyways. I'm just fascinated by anything from the old world. It's so interesting."
"I wouldn't tell too many people about your fascination." He warned. "Especially not around here."
She widened her eyes. "Really? Oh, thank you." She nodded her head. "I'll keep it a secret then."
He smiled slightly, glad that she wouldn't get in trouble.
"Thank you." She smiled. "I didn't realize that could get me into trouble." She bit her lip. "I guess I have a lot to learn."
"It's just not something the ruling family likes to talk about or hear about." He said with a shrug.
"Oh." She said softly. "That would make sense, now that I think about it." Stupid, stupid. You need to think, Lila!
"Try to think things through before you say them then." He said lightly. "I'd hate for you to have to leave because you said something they didn't like."
Lila nodded. "I will do that. Thank you." She said softly. She couldn't believe that she had been that stupid. "And thanks." She gave him a half-smile.
She smiled back. "So, any other warning that you have for me?" She was curious. There was so much that she had evidently not thought about.
"Hm...... Not that I know of." He said with a shrug.
Lila nodded. "Okay, thank you still. I owe you." She smiled at Nicholas.
"Well we'll have to find a way for you to make it up to me then." He said with a chuckle.
Lila raised one eyebrow. "Yes, just let me know. Don't get too creative though." She saw the mischievous glint in his eye.
"Too creative?" He scoffed. "No such thing."
Lila laughed. "Okay, okay. Well just let me know when you decide."
"Oh I will." He said devilishly, more for her benefit than his.
Lila shook her head, laughing at the tone of his voice. "Oh goodness. What have I gotten myself into?"
Lila laughed. "Not me, that's for certain."
"In the meantime I'll let your imagination run wild." He said with a chuckle.
Lila pouted. "Meanie!" She laughed to show that she was kidding. ((Sorry I've got to go. Good night!))
"Meanie? I haven't been called a meanie since I was twelve." He said with a laugh.
Lila laughed. "Well now you have." She grinned.
"I guess so." He said, rolling his eyes.
Lila giggled. "Hey, being childish can be fun sometimes."
"So can being an adult." He said with a snort.
Lila nodded. "Yes, that's true. But hey, pranks aren't very adult like." She raised an eyebrow at him.
"Why not?" He asked, his brows raised. "Adults can pull off more sophisticated pranks."
Lila laughed. "That's true, but they don't play pranks as often."
