Alissa | 220 comments Last month I finished all Riyria series by Michael J. Sullivan, so this month is Hollow World (not fantasy, highly recommended!) by Michael Sullivan and Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastard series. Is The Warded Man really that bad?

I didn't like it, but it's a popular series so there's every chance you might.

Luke I was voicing my immediate displeasure, but there definitely are good moments too. It did draw me in at points, the pacing was decent, and the characterization was pretty good for the first 3/4.

But you have to read it as a just a casual book, imo. You can't take it too seriously, or you'll be disappointed.

Alissa | 220 comments Thank you for the advice, let's say it's still a to-read, but not on top of my list, I'm not too much into full YA novels with high ratio of sex going on, I had different expectations for the title so thanks for telling!

Aldaren Nadorn (aldarennadorn) I just started Isaac Asimov's Foundation.

Prem Pawan I am almost through Words of Radiance, I try to get through 2 books a month and generally when I am done with a book I go crazy deciding which one to read next now I got Blood Song, Theft of Swords ,The Emperor's Blades on my plate

could someone suggest one of the three, it would be a great help.

message 108: by Luke (new)

Luke Two of those I want to read REALLY badly, and I'm reading The Emperor's Blades now, so I'm not much help lol.

Jake m (atticus55) | 12 comments I love The Emperors Blades my review. I didn't much care for Theft of Swords but I know a lot who did. I heard Blood Song is great.

I recommend Theft of Swords, it's a great tale with fast pace and refreshing characters :)

message 116: by Komal (new)

Komal (k0k0) Just finished Rise of Empire (The Riyria Revelations, #3-4) by Michael J. Sullivan .

Starting Heir of Novron (The Riyria Revelations, #5-6) by Michael J. Sullivan .

One of the most entertaining series I've come across.

message 117: by Luke (new)

Luke I went to the store today, to buy Blood Song after finishing The Emperor's Blades. If they didn't have it, I was going to get Grim Company by Luke Scull. Sadly, someone bought both of them in the last week :(

Luckily, I found The Red Knight by Miles Cameron hiding on one of the bottom shelves so I got that one instead.

I loved the first book, but I detested the second book. It was a case of the relatively minor issues with the first book (characterisation and plot issues) becoming much bigger in the second book, to the point where I could no longer enjoy it.

I just finished those this past weekend. Loved them! The Chronicles are definitely worth a read if you liked Revelations.
