Edward is scary! In the last one I was really worried. I just started and it definitely starts in on the wolves. I got that right away. I may delay since Norma needs to catch up.
@Norma- are you interested in buddy reading Kiss of Crimson too?

Richard is the guy that was Naked in the bed when Anita met Nickolaus the old master of the city.
Amy, Edward grows on you. he may be scary but I have come to really enjoy it when he is around.

Goody! When should we start? PM or forum?
Richard is the guy from the last book. When Anita goes to see JeanClaude and encounters Yasmeen. (view spoiler) I believe it is the first time she encounters Richard but from what I understand he will be in later books. He is definitely in the next, right at the beginning. If you haven't read Circus yet or arrived at the part where Anita goes to question the JC, then I don't think you know Richard yet. book 3(view spoiler)

Amy it is the first time he introduces himself not the first time we ... I mean Anita ...meets him.

many more will be introduced. I can up a index of important/reoccurring characters soon. after this one (which it the longest so far and it feels like you have read 3 books all in the one) I will put up a list, but not before.
Edward is the crazy homicidal vampire hunter friend?
I don't remember Richard at all from the first one then. He was naked in both instances.
A lot goes on in these books.

it is referred to later on. so now you know and wont be confused."
I'm really enjoying the series. Each book is different, but for me Lunatic Café took the series to a different level (view spoiler) Somehow that moved things to a new level. (view spoiler) And, of course, the (view spoiler) All these things really brought the series to a more intense level for me.

I think I am gunna read these, but I may bow out of the Buddy Read... I think this series is what has me Debbie Downer about reading... Depends on how BOM goes.. LOL

norma books 1-5 are pretty tame the mystery solving element is still there but not as much.
it becomes more erotic
some bits more violent
powers grow and Anita is leading the charge.
what does debbie downer mean?

It is like blah... A Debbie Downer is the person you hang around with who everytime something good happens... has a pessimistic attitude... And just brings your happiness down. Here is the wikipedia on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debbie_D...

I'm back into Lunatic Cafe. It is amazing how many "creatures" she starts naming. I feeling like I'm in Rachel Morgan's world of the Hollows.
I'm liking this one better. I think because it centers around werewolves and not the vampires. I'm not quite as scared of them and they seem to have real rules.

Yeah i have to agree with you there. She gets better at the vampire stuff. But thats through trial and error i think.
I love it when the shifters are around too. I just want to hug some of them!

OK, really liked the book, though there were the two scenes above that I was irritated with. I don't think that these cannot have irritating scenes for me. I'm glad we are reading them every two weeks now because I have to have breaks in between. There are so many violent, gruesome scenes and overly suspenseful parts that my blood boils.
Lot's of good lead ins for the next book/books.

Anybody start Bloody Bones yet? It is next on TBR so should have it done before April 30th. Which does this book deal with. Back to the Vampires?
ok yes we are on Bloody bones.
bloody bones introduces us to Fae. it also explains why there aren't any fae in Anita's world.
yes we deal with Vampire politics as well as a suped up anita and more vampy stuff.
but you definitely need a bit of a break from this one.
its action packed and has a good mystery as well.

I just started it. I can really picture that helicopter ride...
I ended up having to get Circus of the Damned on Audiobook.... I will listen to it after the other two.. I am trying to catch up, but damn...

Trying to keep up is nuts. The feeling of relief when a group selects a book I've already read is...unnerving. Whew! (LOL)
I'll be traveling 5/2-5/18, so I won't be chatting during that time.
Halfway through Bloody Bones. She seems to have kind of hit a balance in this one.

Was wondering what is meant by hit balance?
I finished this a couple of days ago. It was a very engaging storyline and I liked getting some fae info. Jean Claude really shines for me in this one.

I meant that while I've liked them all, but I felt the series started to really come together in this one.
yes its kinda like the start of a new chapter or even like an anita 2.0 series.
anyway im putting up the list for the next few books in the next few days.
it is of course still at your own pace.
so don't worry, if you have read them before join us in the conversation. you can
lust after you favourite character here too.

OK. I loved Bloody Bones, but I'm going to be off-line for nearly two weeks (Paris, here I come!) so I got started on The Killing Dance. About one third of the way in, and my heart is breaking for Richard...
So you won't hear from me for a while, but I'll be back. Though I may try to finish this tonight. (view spoiler)

So bummed that I have forgot a lot of it and will most likely have to read them all again before I start the new ones!
This is why I now TRY to only read complete series lol
Kaylah, would you like to read with us?
ok so you have a little bit of catching up to do to get to the current book..... that's if you don't want to just jump in right now.... seing you have read them before! :)
Are you a fellow Edward/Ted Fan?

I'm Back and i have fixed up the first message with dates of discussion/ reading times.
The Killing Dance is the Turing point for Anita in a few ways.
This is the first book that has a Sex scene and also signals the change to erotic fiction.
There is a bit of Gory bits in this one too.
but not as bad as what is to come in some of the books...but we will get to that later.
Edward is back in this one too(yay).

it's not complete yet. but the 22nd book is the most recent one.

OK, I was also going to suggest the graphic novels too. but if you want to wait until the are done I understand. I'm usually the one waiting for series to finish...this is the only one that I read as they come out.

Yeah, I like Edward/Ted a lot. I love both Richard and Jean-Claud (poor thing, suffering with such choices), but I'm glad when Edward shows up. I was reading The Killing Dance at Slater's 50/50 last night and the waitress was asking me what it was about. "Well,..."
haha that's awesome katy.
did you recommend the book or the series? i usually recommend the series but suggest to start at book 2.
but i have heard some people read the books in random order....that just sends my OCD senses tingling just thinking about it.

Edward is still awesome... scary but awesome.
