I posted it mostly because it may help spark someone else's memory of other possible books.

I haven't read Replay but from reviews, I gather that the main character dies several times. In this other book, the main character doesn't actually die.

He actually suffers what feels to him to be a fatal heart-attack, and ends up young again, but with former memories (ie: has seen the future, and gets to make better choices this time around). So, has he died multiple times? Feels as if he has not, from the narrative stand-point, and from the logical standpoint as well.
Not set in Canada.
There's some other time travel set in Canada, of which doesn't fit this description, which is by Spider Robinson (iirc).

Rerun by Neil Crichton.
David, glad we could help. Although "Replay" was my first guess as well. :)
Using Google, I came across Neil Crichton's "Rerun" as a brief reference in David Ketterer's "Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy":
"In Neil Crichton's Rerun (Don Mills, Ontario, 1976) a forty-year-old man is given the chance to relive his life when he finds himself transported from 1990 back to 1976 and only twenty-six years old."
Others on this site, particularly the moderators, can help you with purchasing old books online. Here's just one reference:

Good luck!

Btw, thinking of Canadian science fiction, have you read Robert J. Sawyer? I find he offers an interesting balance of science, speculation, and clever ideas. Flashforward and Hominids are a few titles that come to mind.
