I`m pretty lazy. Too, I dont mind looking strange, I dont care fot being sweatty but I dont mind. My problem is that either am bad at it,or it bores the hell out of me. I do enjoy taking walks, either on Mountains, or just around. What I do is that I swim in my lpcal pool weekly, sometimes twice weekly. Swimming is a type of excersise I actually love. (the only one at that.)

Haha! Yeah, it would win with me too. Although, there are things you can do while reading; especially if you use an ereader (which can usually either read to you, or have the text size enlarged so you can see it from a bit further away) or listen to audiobooks.

I've found myself listening to audiobooks when I'm doing things like sewing or cooking. Really nice to listen to.

message 805: by Marla (new)

Marla | 366 comments I enlarge the type on my ereader and I workout on my elliptical. I've also listened to audiobooks while I worked out. In fact, I've had to tell myself that I can't read until I workout, so I would get it done.

Haha! That's a good way to make sure you get the workout in!

I do that a lot; either with audiobooks, or by having my Kindle read to me. It makes doing chores more pleasant, gives me something nice to listen to while I knit or sew, and also gives me a bit more reading time!

I actually look forward to running errands now (which I used to hate) because of audiobooks!

If you do, be sure to start with one that is highly recommended. Starting with a narration that's not so great is a turn off to audios for newbies. I almost didn't try again after listening to the wrong book as my first audio. Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor was the book that got me addicted to audios!!

message 812: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 30, 2015 12:56AM) (new)

I like audiobooks as well. But as I mentioned someplace else, for some strange reason I havent had much luck with audiobooks in English. So with me its books in English, audios in my native Norwegian. I find that most English audiobooks have wrong or condesending voices somehow. I really enjoyed Zombies Vs. Unicorns by Holly Black Fashionably Undead by Meg Cabot tho. So recomend those two.

message 813: by Storm (new)

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments I'll admit I haven't finished an audiobook yet simply because I usually listen to them til the task is done. XD; I usually prefer imagining the voices in my head.

message 814: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Some narrators are fantastic, others are "just OK" and others are awful. How successful your experience with audiobooks is depends on how picky you are about your narrator. Personally, I'm not picky, and don't judge an audiobook by the narrator; unless I'm spacifically asked my opinion on the narrator in question.

Perhaps, with audiobooks being the easiest way for me to read between when I couldn't see enough to read print any more and when ereaders became accessable, I learned not to be so quick to dismiss a book because of the narrator? Or, perhaps the computer voice I'm used to with my screen reader (think Stephen Hawking) makes it easier to appreciate even the worst narrators? Either way, I can enjoy an audiobook even if it has an awful narrator.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments I held a Barn Owl today.

There were people with owls in town when we went in today to go to the market, and they let me put on one of those gloves and hold a Barn Owl!

She flapped about a bit to get herself settled, gave me a few affectionate nips with her beak, and promptly fell asleep while using my hand as a perch.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Thanks, Irene, and Marla! Yeah, it was really cool!

Of course, we didn't have our camera with us. We usually take it whenever we go anywhere, but didn't for some reason. Isn't that how it always goes? *Sigh*

The owl guy did take a photo, and said he'd e-mail it to me, but I don't have it yet. Not sure if he forgot, got busy, or if he didn't manage to send it for some other reason. I'll share it when - or if - he does send it to me. Not much I can do if he doesn't though.

Of all the cool amazing things I've done in my life, I haven't had the chance to pet or even touch an owl. I want to so bad! Didn't you hold a baby owl last year? So awesome!

Irene (raenne) I just need to vent a little:
Tomorrow is my birthday. I've been looking forward to it for such a long time, I really love when it's my birthday! So...guess who woke up with a sore throat today? Yep, I did. I've been baking today, but besides that, I haven't done anything but drinking tea and relaxing. It just keeps getting worse. It's not that bad, not at all, I just don't want to feel low on my birthday when I'm having guests and all. Sigh!

Irene (raenne) Thank you Storm. I'm turning 25 so it's kind of a bigger one than usual.

That's right Oda :) I asked for a tablet, but we'll see. Also, I'm secretly hoping boyfriend gives me a trip to Paris, but I know that he went to the bookstore the other day, so. But hey, a girl can dream, right? ;)
