Well, I did not vote, but shoot, I have this book at home so it will be difficult for me not to join in. So I am tentatively in for this read as well. Currently all my reads are Chunksters! My nightstand is tall at the moment. :)
My track record for participation is not so great, but I did buy the book this weekend and would like to join the group read!

I didn't vote for this one, but I've always meant to read The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. Sign me up. I just need to hurry up and finish some chunksters that are currently in my hands.

I am in!I am actually 3/4 through this book right now, but it will still be fresh in my mind next month...I am a slow reader so I will probably just finish it by the 10th... :)
Super, the list is growing. John, I envy you soooo much. I will start reading as soon as physically possible.
I voted for the book and I am happy to say that I am all in!I am really looking forward to getting back to reading with this group again.
I am a memeber of a Murakami fan club here on Goodreads, would it be OK if I posted a plug for this group in case anyone there wants to join in?

Oh, I think I worded that badly :) ...I meant, is it OK if I post a plug for Reading the Chunksters at the Murakami group, in case they want to join in here? I thought it might help lead to a bigger discussion?

I'm in already part way through and want to finish it and see what others think of the strange plot.

I think I voted for it (can't even remember, lol!) as I do want to read it eventually, but I am working through some old stuff (about 1/3 through The Stand) and doing Les Mis as well as Once and Future King, so I will be joining this one late, unfortunately. I'll get to it eventually though :)

Hi, I have just joined the group and I am contemplating to read this book with you. However, I feel a little out of my comfort zone as this sounds like a strange read outside of my favourite genres. How are you all liking it so far? Worth taking the plunge? Thanks :)

It's a strange book Susanne, and certainly outside of my norm.. But very interesting plotline and I think worth a try at least :) I am enjoying it more than I thought I would based on the only other Murakami book I've read.

The blurb of the book promises an intriguing read, so I hope we will all support the team:-) Oops, it is not King's novel, this time. It is magical Japanese realism.
Please sign in if you want to read with the group. There were at least 13 people who voted for the book, so in the ideal world we should have a good discussion, but let's make it even better by getting a bigger reading company because it is THOUGHT-PROVOKING FUN to read a big book with the group!
Sing in and enjoy the long ride!
