%10: I can't get into the story, no matter how much I try. If you are to tell the story of Maddie, why the hell are you writing like you were with her all the time?

29/451Hmm her sarcasm is a bit off putting like she doesn't take things seriously... I guess it's the only way she can 'fight' back now and she is trying to be as difficult as possible
%20: She is killing me. The story doesn't sound realistic to me, let alone being appealing. I don't like the main character, she is annoying if you ask me and she is just tiring to be with. And yes, I was disturbed by her sarcasm too, but mostly because she is just not good at being sarcastic. She makes jokes that fall flat, then laughs and goes on with more of them. This is hard to read.
%33: I started to like this. Though I still don't like the mc, she is way too irritating for my liking, the story is going well now.
%49: I'm taking a break for today. This is going good now, so I will go on when I have enough time to actually sit and read.
142/451Maddies flying job is awfully boring to read about... Not liking Queenies random comments that bring us out of the story she's telling. ("I sound so authoritative!") have no clue where this story is going but feeling like a tragedy is about to happen.
%57: The first part is finally over. I hated the first narrator, so I hope I'll like the second for the sake of 43% I have left.
%75: Gee, all they do is cry. Also, I'm bored of this narrator as well. This book could be fun for someone that is interested in the planes, but it is not for me. I can wait to finish and get rid of it.
Colleen and I will be reading this on January 1st! Feel free to join!(Could one of the mods please change the date?)
I'm at 25%, and I'm not sure I'm enjoying it... And I still don't know what is the purpose of the book: is it a war book or a friendship portrayal book??
Does it say how old she is at the very beginning of the book? I'm confused :P Also started the book :)
Ok just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing it :P I'm finding the beginning kind of slow but interesting. Also when I was reading the beginning it took me a while to figure out what side she was on and who she was giving the codes to.
I'm currently on page 38 of the book and its super slow! I'm finding it hard to get through so far. Hopefully it picks up.
It's interesting how she is writing this to the Germans. (At least I think she is because of her usage of we and you) in the beginning, also it's kinda interesting how she is betraying her country and giving the codes and stuff. I can see why she is doing it but I don't know...
23% done or 80 pages. For me it's starting to pick up a bit. I love ww2 books! And historical fiction in general!!
I love historical fiction as well, but this is not among the best I've read.I'm hoping there is a huge plot twist at the end, or I'll be very frustrated...
Finished it! I'm relieved to be done with it. It was not a great book, for me, it just didn't click for me
have you read the book thief? im finding this interesting but super slow once again :Pim only about 30% done but i hope to finish in a few days. sorry if i go MIA for a bit. i have a couple big tests for school that i need to study for :P
Don't worry about it!And yes, I have read The Book Thief (took me a couple of tries, but I finished it).
I liked it better than this one, but it's not my favorite book. Some WWII books that I enjoyed were
(it's a sequel, sorry about that)
Oh, I really want to read all the light we cannot see. Also about halfway and there is No Action at all. I don't quite see the point of this...
I think I'm going to put this book down :(I am just not very interested in reading this right now. It's taken me 10 days to read half the book which is only about 160 pages or so which is super slow for me. Just not feeling it the moment. Sorry.
Don't worry! I totally understand! I almost gave it up quite a few times, the only thing that kept me reading was the promise of a twist

Heya Rachel, I read a bit and it's quite a lengthy one that I don't think I'll be able to finish. I'll read this early next month if it's okay. Sorry
Thanks :) Maybe we could read this next month if you're not too into the book? But ofc you can continue but I'll just be late to it. I went a little crazy for the bookish blocks challenge
If you don't mind I'm going to keep reading because I'm about 120 pages in at the moment and I planned to use it for chunky on the blocks...but I'll definitely discuss it with you in June, we could maybe read the sequel too if you like it?
I know what you mean about going crazy with the blocks though, I've drawn myself a block grid and colour coordinated it haha
