Ehab Al obaidy Any suggestions about "feminists" novels by Black British female authors from 1930 to 20th. For the MA literature thesis.

Do you mean a quote that's posted on Goodreads? So like you just go to the quote and copy the URL - https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1173... I don't know if there's another way to link x

Hi Esilay. To join a team all you have to do is go to the sign up thread.

Here is May's - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Here is June's - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

and say team please. Sarah will then give you a link and you will be on that team. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask. ^_^

Caitlin (caitlingreer1234) | 1110 comments This may be a really stupid question but when you are reading a book with a reading buddy, How do you cover the spoilers if you are further ahead in the book?

message 112: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
Hi Caitlin, to create a spoiler tag you have to type <.spoiler.> (without the dots) if you want to close the spoiler tag so you're only covering up a certain amount of text, you type <./spoiler.> (again without the dots) (view spoiler)

Caitlin (caitlingreer1234) | 1110 comments Lots of the reviews on goodreads have some quotes from the book they have read in the reviews, i was just wondering if anyone knows how you do that?

Do you mean how do you make it stand out in your review? There are two things that might help. You can type <.P> (without the dot) or you can type <.blockquote> (without the dot). You can end each of those commands by putting a / where the dot is.

This is what they do... (the first bit uses P, and the second bit uses the blockquote) -

“If Peeta and I were both to die, or they thought we were....My fingers fumble with the pouch on my belt, freeing it. Peeta sees it and his hand clamps on my wrist.

"No, I won't let you." "Trust me," I whisper. He holds my gaze for a long moment then lets go. I loosen the top of the pouch and pour a few spoonfuls of berries into his palm. Then I fill my own.

"On the count of three?" Peeta leans down and kisses me once, very gently. "The count of three," he says. We stand, our backs pressed together, our empty hands locked tight. "Hold them out. I want everyone to see," he says. I spread out my fingers, and the dark berries glisten in the sun. I give Peeta's hand one last squeeze as a signal, as a good-bye, and we begin counting.
"One." Maybe I'm wrong. "Two." Maybe they don't care if we both die. "Three!" It's too late to change my mind. I lift my hand to my mouth taking one last look at the world. The berries have just passed my lips when the trumpets begin to blare.
The frantic voice of Claudius Templesmith shouts above them. "Stop! Stop! Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to present the victors of the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark! I give you - the tributes of District 12!”

Hopefully one of those is what you're looking for ☺

Do you mean so that it says that you're replying to a certain comment? For that you just click 'reply' at the bottom right of their post. Did you mean something else?

Kay-Mika | 1810 comments I have the new GR layout on my mobile (app and mobile webversion).
How do I edit my post and how do I replay to posts? These bottons are totally missing on my version.

I'm not using the app either, but I found the solution to my problem in a different group.

Using the app, you can't edit or reply. It's better to use the web version of GR.

message 125: by Ayca (new)

Ayca | 1 comments Hi everyone, I am new in this group. I’ve looked around for a bit and I came to the understanding that using the app is less efficient than the webpage so I will note that. But I still don’t understand how this works, I see these awesome challenges coming by in this group but I can’t seem to find what it is or how it works. I did find out how to sign up!

I guess my question is, could someone explain what we do in this group (the challenges etc.) in short so I can understand?

I would appreciate it and thank you in advance! :)

Hi Ayca, if you want a general idea of how the group works you might want to try reading this thread here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... that might answer some of your questions, otherwise feel free to ask ☺
