Twilight (#1) by Stephanie Meyer → Start Date: August 3rd, 2015
Not feeling well today...stayed home from work so maybe I can catch up but I have to work on my fully loaded boos first.
Vicki - I'm sorry you're not feeling well! I wondered if I'd missed a school holiday and that's why you were home and showing up in my news feed!{{{Hugs}}}

Awe, thanks. I appreciate the hugs! :o)
Ok I was scrolling through news and holy hell Vicki, you've never read Twilight?! This is the book that got most people reading or at least reading again!!! lol I almost regret giving these books away now ;)
Farren, not only have I never read them before but at one time I swore to myself and to others that I would never read the series. LOLSo far I'm really enjoying Twilight and I already know that I plan to read the rest of the series. I guess we really do change in our old age but age is just a number, right? LOL
I've read this series so many times I've lost count, lol! And the books are so much better than the awful awful movies. I think i re-read them to remind myself of that!
I was semi-watching a Twilight marathon the other day and I was thinking man these movies are silly and the books were so much better lol But then again I saw The Scorch Trials today and it made the Twilight movies looks ingenious in comparison
I took my son to see Scorch Trials Friday night. I completely agree it was NOTHING, not one thing like the book. The only thing in common with the book were the character's names. But as with Percy Jackson, if I forgot it was from something I read, the movie itself was pretty good. I thought the actors were good and special affects were excellent. I was scared quite a few times. However that only applies f I can forget it was from teh book.
I hated the Twilight movies as movies as well. They're terrible. Bad scripts, bad adaptations of the books themselves and terrible acting.
I often wonder how this happens to such great literature.
I thought the first 4 Harry Potter movies were excellently represented as well as Hunger Games.
Ok, done with my rant now, lol.
I actually enjoy the movies, just not as much as the books. I wouldn't say it got me into reading but it did get me into read Vampire books.

I've never seen a book-to-movie translation worse than a video game-to-movie translation until today but wow, this was COMPLETELY different than the book. But still enjoyable. My boyfriend loved it, and I had to literally force him to watch The Maze Runner last month lol The first couple Twilight movies actually followed the story very well, just with terrible acting. I don't expect every movie to be as accurate as the Hunger Games franchise (for example)

VERY True. I have to say I was FLABBERGHASTED at the radical change they did to the story. I wonder how Dashner felt about it? I just don't get it. Why even call it Scorch Trials? Why don't just make your own movie and call it something else? It was good enough to stand alone - didn't need that name. B/C now all you have is angry book fans, lol!
Ok, back to Twilight:Just finished chapter 20.
I find this chapter (view spoiler)
I want to get to chapters 21 and 22 today if I can as well.
How are you doing Vicki?
Feeling better but stayed home. I still have to supervise two volleyball games starting at 4:45. Ugh! SO hard to read in that environment!

I guess I did my math wrong when I posted my progress last time because I just now am at 78% but I had posted that I finished 79%. Thank GOD I don't teach math, and that was WITH a calculator. LOLAnyway, I finished Ch. 18 and WOWZER! Talk about heart-stopper!

Excellent observations! It's really picking up pace action wise now, isn't it?
Dang, I can't see your spoilers because I'm supervising our volleyball games. Thankfully our JV won the first two so they didn't have to play more. So far Varsity won our first game 25-13. But they have to win 3 before it's over so hopefully they'll win all 3 and shut them out!

YOU sound like ME! I am TERRIBLE to stay up half the night but when I do I usually doze of a few minutes here and there. But I swear I never get to bed (IN my bed) before around 2:00 and that isn't healthy.
So, I finished through Chapter 23.this is a VERY short chapter...
Vicki I think you'll be (view spoiler)
Ok, I must admit - for as much as I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book, the last few chapters are not my favorites. Bella is too whiny for my tastes. So I may just end it all tonight and finish the last 50 pages up, lol!
Emma wrote: "Ye she is whiny, that's why there's a certain part of the next book that I really do not like."Agree, but we soldier on, lol....
Ok, I'm done. Vicki, can't wait to hear your thoughts and see when you want to move on to book 2!Hope you're feeling better too!
