message 53: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) yeah just thought I would let you guys know.

message 54: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) It helps me get through tough books, especially since I remember things better if I hear them instead of seeing them. Lol. Which helps in school :)

message 55: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) yeah some books you just that little bit of help to get it done

message 56: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) I did that for The Help and most of The Heir. I tried with The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud but nothing could get me through that book. Lol

message 57: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) dang. what was everyone's reading goal for this year ? btw.

message 58: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) I feel you on that Kelsey I set mine kind of high so im like 13 book be hide.

message 59: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) My goal is 50. Yeah, probably not gunna happen, but I don't really care. It's just for fun and to see how far I can get. :)

message 60: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) yeah

message 61: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) Yeah, but I've read nowhere near that many.

message 62: by Azaria (new)

Azaria Gerardo (bookflix) | 137 comments My goal is 75? I think. I'm almost finished with that, so by October, I'll probably set it to 100.

message 63: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) cool

message 64: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) that is good

message 65: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) Cool beans.

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

We could read Things Not Seen.

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, a few years ago. :)

message 68: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) Sounds good. Few more okays and we'll put it in the poll for October's read.

message 69: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) I've wanted to read every one of those :)

message 70: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) lol so how are we going to do it this month?

message 71: by Azaria (new)

Azaria Gerardo (bookflix) | 137 comments I've read those three and they're amazing!

message 72: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) @Lamaya What do you mean?

message 73: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) the voting?

message 74: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) I was figuring the same way. We all decide on a few candidates and those go in the poll.

message 75: by Azaria (new)

Azaria Gerardo (bookflix) | 137 comments Sounds good :)

message 76: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahmango) | 53 comments Are we reading another book this month?

message 77: by Faith (new)

Faith (faithsendlessloveofbooks) | 401 comments Idk I'm still working on Eragon

message 78: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahmango) | 53 comments Oh, I finished it two days ago (October 1st). It was good, but I found the story lacked arc. There was no real rising action, no real climax, and the goal that Eragon had been working towards since the beginning of the book was never completely realized. Still, the world building was good, and the characters were interesting. Considering this was written by a nineteen year old, I think it's pretty good.

message 79: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) Did we want a book this month?

message 80: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) I think we should skip this mouth

message 81: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) month

message 82: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahmango) | 53 comments But maybe we should start talking about the book for November, if we're doing one then? That way there's plenty of time for us all to agree on what book and also to go out and buy it.

message 83: by Lamaya (new)

Lamaya booklit (bookitgirl) good thinking

message 84: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahmango) | 53 comments I would suggest that since we read a fantasy book last month we try reading something different this month.. Maybe science fiction?

message 85: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) I'm up for anything. And I'm really sorry about these past months. School has really taken a dump on my head if you know what I mean. I will definitely try to get back into things.

message 86: by Sarah (last edited Oct 09, 2015 06:41PM) (new)

Sarah (sarahmango) | 53 comments I've already read it, actually.. The first book is good but I find the series got worse over time. The sixth book The Fate Of Ten came out in September and I couldn't even finish it. I does count as Sci-fi though.
And if you're looking into reading it, I don't discourage you from doing so, because I did very much enjoy it. I think the main reason it feels less enjoyable now is because the book is because its simple language and not very challenging. I've aged a lot since I originally started the series. It doesn't fit with the other books I'm into reading nowadays.

message 87: by Faith (new)

Faith (faithsendlessloveofbooks) | 401 comments Idk

message 88: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahmango) | 53 comments What about The Martian? It's a Sci-Fi about the first landing on mars; on of the astronauts gets left behind and has to stay alive for four years on mars, alone. The movie is coming out soon (Or did it just come out?) and I've been looking into reading it. It seems interesting. What does everyone think?

message 89: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) Sure. It sounds exciting.

message 90: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) So, is everyone up for The Martian or do we want a poll?

message 91: by Faith (new)

Faith (faithsendlessloveofbooks) | 401 comments Sure

message 92: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) Alright. The Martian it is :)

message 93: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) Alright, we need some ideas for next month. What genre do we want?

message 94: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahmango) | 53 comments I'd be interested to read something paranormal, like fantasy that takes place in the real world (as opposed to high/epic fantasy).

message 95: by Kersten (new)

Kersten Mason (no_i_in_kersten) Cool. I made a poll for this if you want to vote. :)
