SOLVED. Minotaur labyrinth video game, creepy YA/children's [s]

Read sometime between 2006-2010. Children's/YA. Some sort of video game maybe or adventure real life thing I'm not sure but either way a teen boy protagonist found that some sort of game became real life and turned into the labyrinth with a Minotaur in the centre. I maybe think there was a bit with the architect who designed the labyrinth as well? But I read a lot of mythology stuff so that could've been something else. All I remember is that I got this book from a library on holiday when I was younger and returned it fairly quickly because I got too scared ahaha.
