Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Tears pooled into Amethyst's eyes without her consent, forcing a small smile as she watched Gypsy. The words barely registered in her mind, before the girl swept away, stumbling through the crowds. Thankfully, the tears didn't fall, but Amethyst felt her heart drop to her stomach, biting down on her bottom lip. The feeling of Gypsy's hand pressed to her arm stayed with her as she hauntingly pressed her fingers to her lips. For a moment, she thought about the night, about what happened, about what tomorrow would bring. Fear forced into her mind, but she nudged it away with the overlaying fog of her drunkenness. After a few minutes of attempting to find her friends, she gave up and found herself back at the bar. The bartender cut her off and called her a cab, to which she accepted gratefully. Her apartment was down town and at this rate she doubted she could have walked there.
"Downtown, Monarch Apartments." She blurted to the greasy cab driver as she slid into the back seat and laid her head against the cool plastic frame of the door.

Amethyst thought about the night, the way Gypsy tasted, the way she touched her - like her fingers searched her skin. This brought shivers down her spine. She hadn't kissed a girl before, never been with a girl before. Did this night change her? She felt confused, but she couldn't think about it. Wouldn't think about it.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments The next day Gypsy groaned miserably into her pillow, huddled in her bed.
"Do you want me to text her for you?" Her roommate asked.
"I'm not even dressed!" Gypsy sat up, hugging the pillow to her chest and pouted. Despite the small tinge in her brain, detecting a hangover that would only get worse under loud or hot conditions- she was completely torn, unsure what to do about the resent night's events.

Her roommate sat on the other bed and watched her. One of her many roommates that was. She shared an apartments with 5 other people, and down the hall were two more apartments, filled with MANY other people they knew. Her roommate didn't see what the big deal was, but Gypsy was truly conflicted.

What was her name? Gypsy pushed the pillow to her face and shouted with frustration. There were many things wrong with what had happened the night before. I can't remember her name. She was plastered. What I call her and ask for a date, then she claims I took advantage of her. Was I taking advantage of her?! I can't take her back here or she'll think I'm crazy. But if I take her here how will I explain all these other people? What if she finds out about us and we all get caught? She bristled and calmed as a couple of her roommates climbed on the bed with her and began to brush her hair and take off her socks.

"Amethyst." Gypsy echoed. "Yeah. That was her name. Give me the phone."
She'd made up her mind to call the girl to ask for a coffee after much encouragement. She held the phone up to her ear and listened as the number dialed and the others sat around her eagerly.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments A sharp ring shattered through the silence as Amethyst shoved the palms of her hands up to her ears. After a second, she grunted and fought to open her eyes. Squinting, she searched for the source of the ringing. There on her side table, the phone tossed from side to side, buzzing and ringing with a number that Amethyst didn't recognize. Then she realized: the night before.

"Oh shit!" Amethyst burst out of her fatigue and into the bathroom, her once perfect curls of hair now in a messy wad on top of her head, "What happened. Who's calling me." She breathed out and splashed water on her face, her head pounding almost as hard as her heart was in her chest. Thoughts crowded her mind as she shook her head.

Just answer the phone. See who's on the other side. Maybe your mom changed her number again. Yes. Oh shit, what if it's your ex-boyfriend. Oh no. Alex would be furious.

Yes. Amethyst broke up with Alex a few hours before she fled to the club with her friends. And - got miserably drunk? And?
She searched her mind for what happened. But all she could see was the sunglasses. The short white hair.
Their lips together.

Amethyst gasped and shoved a brushed through her hair before springing back toward her bed and grabbing the phone from the side table.
"Oh jesus."

She breathed out and attempted to collect herself.
"Hello," She stated, though more of a question, after she pressed the green button that would summon her fate. Who was this on the other line? Fuck if she knew, she held her breath and waited for the other to speak. Her mind racing.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy gave a loud grunt into the speaker of the phone as a few heads pressed up against hers now that there were about 10 people in her room and a few more heads other than her own, all listing in on the conversation with the mystery girl from the night before.
"Uh, hi." Gypsy said as she pushed faces away from her own. "Is this Amethyst?"

Despite some small laughs from the others, disappointment fled over her. It seemed that the girl hadn't been expecting her call. Bummer. "Uh, this is Gypsy. I'm sorry to be calling so early?" Gypsy made a face of confusion. What time is it? She reached out her hand and wiggled her fingers where someone took her hand and signed the time into her palm. 2:46

She moved the mic away from her mouth and released a sigh, shaking her head to the others, doubting Amethyst was going to be up for any sort of date- the girl sounded like she just woke up anyhow. Pointless.
"Yeah, we talked about getting together for coffee sometime. I'm sorry, did I wake you up?" Pointless. Pointless. Pointless.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst smiled lightly, cupping her hand to hold back a squeal. Holy shit. What time is it? She frantically leaned over the other side of the bed toward the alarm clock and smacked her forehead. She'd missed class that morning.

"Gypsy. Gypsy! I'm so sorry. No no." She flung herself out of bed and scrambled toward the small kitchen for a few pills to handle her throbbing headache, "I must have slept through my alarm clock." She laughed lightly and attempted to gulp down the pills and water quietly, rubbing at her eyes and opening them wider, "Coffee would be lovely." Amethyst breathed out, realizing she'd been holding onto it for a minute.

What in the world would she say? She'd never been with a girl before? She'd just broken up with her boyfriend? It dawned on her:

"You're not getting out of telling me about those sunglasses." She whispered into the phone, biting down on her bottom lip. That was stupid. What am I thinking? What am I doing? But she knew one thing: she wanted to see Gypsy again. She needed to see her again. She wanted to talk to her.

"I'm sorry, I suppose we were both a little drunk last night." Amethyst giggled lightly, lifting herself up on the counter as she kicked her heels against the wood.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy held her breath. She was numbed by the girl's words and laid back on the bed as people began to scatter. She laid on her stomach and let her head hang off the side of the bed. "Yeah. Really hammered." She murmured and reached down, touching the carpet on the floor with her free hand.

Her many roommates and even some others had heard the conversation. On Amethyst's confirm for getting coffee, they began to rush around, finding clothes for Gypsy along with her make up and whatever else she needed to get ready.
"So coffee. Today? I'm not quite ready to go out. You wanna meet at the coffee house on Perch Avenue? Maybe in an hour..." She sat up on the bed and lifted her arm smelling her armpit, Eh., then brought the phone back to her ear, "Er two..."

Gypsy leaned against the backboard of her bed, smiling as she heard the girl giggle. It sounded like she was moving around a lot. I guess I did wake her up.

message 57: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments "Yes. Yes, absolutely. Two hours. Perch Avenue. I'll see you then." Amethyst hung up before she could blubber on anymore, her stomach in butterflies as she slid off the counter. As her feet touched the cold tiles, she tip-toed back toward her room and giggled the entire way. Despite having the hangover, she was still her energetic self - laughing and smiling was what she knew. She always wanted to make others happy.

Amethyst bit down on her lip and threw open her closet door.
"What do I wear? What do I wear?" She sorted through her clothes and threw herself onto her bed, "My hair!" She squealed and jumped up, preparing to shower.
For the next hour she'd dried her hair, curled it, and re-curled it and decided on her makeup. Despite all of that, she stared into her closet and slapped her hand down on her thigh.
"What do I wear!"

Amethyst grunted and shook her head, solemnly deciding to slip into one of her favorite sundresses. It was a cute, modest dress that hit right about her knee. The dress was lined with a floral lace, a beautiful shade of pink that complimented her skin and long brown hair.

Finally, stripping herself from the mirror, she grabbed her purse and ran down the stairs of her apartment building, absentmindedly locking the door behind her. She didn't know what would come about this meeting, but she was hopeful.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy tossed her phone on the bed as she went to the shower. Afterwards her friends helped her dress and get her makeup on. Gypsy sat on the bed for the majority of the time as her hair was straitened and her makeup was done.

She pulled on a black hoodie along with her last clean pair of acid wash jeans. She grabbed her cane and walked to the door. "Wait..." She turned back and went to the bathroom, having to shove a few people out to be alone.
She stood in from of the mirror and took off her glasses gently. Opening the mirror, she pulled out her contact lenses and put them in. She sat on the toilet seat and steadied herself, imagining what Amethyst would say to her broken eyes. She put a few drops in her eyes and pushed the bottle in her pocket in case the lenses dried up.
The contacts lenses were specially made for her, having a large black dot in the center to represent a pupil. If often made people very uncomfortible to see her eyes- how the iris and pupil were a light foggy blue. Gypsy just hoped it would creep the girl out too much.

She walked out of her apartments. Ironically they could have caught each other in the lobby, unaware that they lived in the same apartments, but Gypsy wanted to get to the coffee house early. She didn't want Amethyst to see her wonder around with a cane like a crazy person.
So Gypsy went early, grabbing a coffee and took a seat in the back where she tucked her cane under her thigh and sat patiently, fiddling with her sleeved or glasses now and again.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst scrambled to the end of the stairs, stopping to adjust the skirt of her dress and to shove a hand through her hair. She neglected to put lipstick on and didn't mind much, it made getting coffee and talking an easier task. For a moment, she thought about running to the store and bringing the girl a present. Why would she bring her a present?

Amethyst slapped her hand to her forehead and groaned, "I'm miserable." She shook her head and fled for the sidewalk. Crowds of people pushed passed her. She'd moved to the city maybe three months ago - finally able to get into a big city college and away from her southern roots. Despite the crowds, she was small enough to fit through the cracks and slivers of people and finally came to the coffee shop.

Stopping to adjust herself once more, she pushed open the door with searching eyes, finally laying them on the girl with the prettiest short hair: Gypsy.

"Hey." Amethyst said simply, a wide smile stretched on her face as she slid into the seat across from Gyspy.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy perked when she heard Amethyst take a seat. "Hi." She said. She was cut short, realizing she had absolutely nothing to say. She'd only been sitting by herself for 15 minutes and the time just flew by as she settled into her surroundings.
Her fingers wrapped carefully around her iced coffee and her elbows rested on the table.

"Amethyst right?" Oh god, I hope this is her. Gypsy in fact had no idea who sat before her. She didn't recognized the girl's voice, nor her smell, nor anything that indicated that she was speaking to the girl from the night before.

message 61: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst bit down on her lower lip, disappointment throttling through her. Had the girl forgotten about her already? She had spoken on the phone earlier correct? Of course, that was them. Maybe she simply didn't remember who'd she'd been with the night before and wanted to be reminded.

She cleared her throat, and glanced out the window, "Yes, yes." She whispered kindly, pulling out her cellphone and clutching it in her lap, "Do you have a blistering headache too?" She asked, remembering the important reason as to why she didn't come to coffee shops : she didn't like coffee. Of course, the smell was delicious and Gypsy didn't need to know that she didn't like coffee.

All of the questions and thoughts cluttering her mind prior to the visit seemed to disappear as she sat there. Softly, her fingers played with the edges of the skirt of her dress.

"Do you remember much from last night?" She asked timidly, licking her bottom lip as coffee smell flared her nostrils.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments "Oh good." Gypsy gave a bit sigh of relief and smiled when Amethyst confirmed it was who she hoped it was.
"I remember getting your number and asking for coffee." She said, deciding not to speak of the kiss. It didn't happen anyway. No string attached. Just an impulsive, drunk... warm... sweet kiss. Gypsy cleared her throat and cleared her mind from these thoughts, even though the look on her face was a bit dreamy towards Amethyst.
She gave a small laugh and moved the straw around in her drink, "You know, I didn't even ask if you swing that way. I'm really sorry if I made you uncomfortible or anything."

Gypsy decided to be frank sense beating around the bush would only leave her feeling awkward. Her stomach ached, expecting the girl to reject her. It wouldn't be too horribly painful, but her hopes were maybe a bit higher than they should be.

message 63: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst shrugged, chewing on her bottom lip and glancing around to see if anyone was listening. What was she thinking? Of course no one was. Not that it was anyone's business. Nor did anyone care.

"Well, to be honest," She fiddled with her phone as a small smile stretched on her lips, Gypsy was adorable when she looked out dreamily, "I don't really know where I swing. I'd never kissed a girl before last night." She absentmindedly bit on her lip as she waited for Gypsy to respond, "But I should warn you," She averted her eyes toward her hands, "I had broken up with my boyfriend yesterday. That's partly why I was as drunk as I was." She shrugged, attempting to be nonchalant, but she still felt a little sore from the thought.

Despite her confused feelings, she knew of one thing: she didn't want to hurt Gypsy.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments (You think her ex boyfriend could be Artie and he guilty her into getting back together with him? Then Evan can be the bartender at the club, or one of the people that live with Gypsy?)

Gypsy sitting her drink with a small grumbled of disappoint. Seriously? Whatever. Stay cute. "I'm sorry about you and your boyfriend. I had one once. It didn't work out well for me either." She laughed faintly though had to make an effort not to sound douchey, sense she realized her words may have been a bit flirtatious.

She was a bit let down. The girl was strait and literally just got out of a relationship with some guy. She smiled weakly, "What class did you miss this morning?" She did her best to dodge around the subject of Amethyst's ex or her glasses. She suddenly felt in desperate need of a nap and a willow to comfort her. This sucks balls man.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments ((Actually that sounds perfect!!! Let's say one of the people that live with Gypsy? Also also, why do so many people live with her omfg))

A few moments fluttered by and Amethyst watched as Gypsy's face scrunched with disappointment. She knew the girl didn't mean for it to show, but she could see it.
Awesome, Amethyst, you're just doing awesome. Great way to start a conversation.
"I'm sorry, that's probably not the best thing to lead a conversation with. Especially when you -" The rest of her sentence trailed off as she bit down on her bottom lip and shook her head, suddenly perking up with a small smile, "Oh goodness, that's why, I keep forgetting I missed my class. I'm enrolled in the university downtown. I'm actually a biology major." She shrugged and leaned back in her chair.

"What about you? Do you have a job or go to school?" Amethyst asked, tilting her head to the side as she combed one of her hands through her hair, "Oh wait, no no no." Amethyst leaned forward, scooting her chair closer to Gypsy's, "Sunglasses. Now. Go." She placed her elbows on the table and propped her face up.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments (They're gypsies. Or what is considered the modern day gypsies. They live off the grid together, and travel around like a big moving commune. They don't do anything really illegal besides taking identities of people who have gone over seas or died.)

Gypsy's mouth gaped as Amethyst bombarded her with questions. She closed her mouth and smiled faintly when the girl ended on the topic of glassed.

Thank god. Amethyst was smart and educated. Having to explain that she herself hadn't even went to high school would be humiliating. No. She reminded herself that Amethyst had just broken up, and Gypsy want in her league now anyway.
Her thought jumbled inside her head, making her feel even more stupid. Keep it cool.

Gypsy touched her glasses and smiled, "They not sunglasses." She said. "Well, I don't think they are..." She took off her glasses carefully and put them in the middle of the table, not wanting to attempt racing them out to Amethyst then accidently amazing her.
"I've actually been blind sense I was born." Gypsy smiled more kindly towards the girl, hoping her wouldn't feel too bad for her or start crying or something. "I promise, I'm not a douche bag who walks around with their sunglasses on all the time. I uh, I have my cane with me too..."

The lenses in Gypsy's Buddy Holly style glasses were actually made of black pieces of plastic. She sat, a bit stiff with her hands now in her lap. Her eyes stared forward with her makeup done lightly. "You can try them on or look at them if you want." She smiled, still worked she was going to freak out Amethyst somehow. "They're not like normal sunglasses though. I don't think you'll be able to see through them. Though I'm not sure." She laughed sweetly, doing her best to lighten the mood.

message 67: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst smiled kindly, the shock leaving as quickly as it came. "Not sunglasses." She watched as Gypsy placed her glasses on the table, and the night burst back into Amethyst's mind. The way Gypsy's fingers slid over her skin. Searched her skin. Because she couldn't see.

A small laugh fluttered from Amethyst's lips, "You're so cute." She bit down on her bottom lip and delicately plucked the glasses up from the table and examined them before sliding them on, "Oh god, it's like being put in a black room."

Amethyst gasped, "Please tell me if I ever say anything offensive." She hastily blurted, leaning back in her chair and placing the glasses back on the table, "I'd never intentionally. Or maybe saying that is offensive. Oh geez."

Way to go

"Anyways, so," She cleared her throat, someone save her, "Since you were born? Really?" She scooted even closer to Gypsy, nonchalantly trying to not make too much noise with the chair. At this point, they were less than an arm's length away. A distant clean smell brushed against her nostrils and Amethyst almost groaned, but refrained. She smelled wonderful.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy slid her hand back across the table and put her glasses on. "Well, sense I was in the womb." She said then laughed faintly. Amethyst was being awful polite and Gypsy of course very much appreciated it, but nothing the girl could say would offend her.
She purposefully made fun of people all the time. She would have to watch her mouth around Amethyst, not the other way around.

"Don't worry. I've never been offend for being blind before. I mean, sometimes if I have my cane people will think I'm mentally slow or something. But, you know, they don't mean anything by it." Gypsy assured her then tapped her fingers on the table, "So I'm guessing you went to the club to celebrate your brake up?"

Gypsy tried to turn the conversation back to Amethyst. Is seemed as though things were going pretty well. She wanted to memorize the girl's voice. She wanted to dig her face in her neck and memorize her smell. She wanted to slope the features and curves of the girl's face. She sat back in her seat a little, wondering about all these things with a satisfied smiled. Her expressions tended to give away what she was thinking most of the time.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments ((OMG HER THOUGHTS ARE SO CUTE WTHHHH))

Amethyst trailed her eyes down Gypsy's smile, wondering what she could possibly be thinking about. For a moment, she thought about laying outside with the girl, describing the stars and the sky to her. She smiled toward the table and shook her head, attempting to concentrate, "Well, not exactly." She shrugged, "His name is Artie. He's, well," Tears welled into her eyes, but she didn't let them fall, thankful that Gypsy couldn't see them and she couldn't care less if anyone else did.

"Okay, so you know those people that say, 'oh hey, i'm the best person in the world. I love everything that has to do with everything, but oh, i'm really good at hiding the fact that I drug deal to children.'" Amethyst rambled and finally breathed in, "Yeah, he's that type of person. I don't know. It was sad, I'm bad at breaking up with people, so I went out with my friends to take my mind off of it." She giggled lightly, "And well, that did indeed happen."

"Anyways, anyways, he doesn't matter." Amethyst felt a tinge of sadness, they had been in a relationship for years - truly a high school sweetheart, but she couldn't stand the idea of his habits, "Please, tell me, where do you live? Tell me all about yourself."

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments "He sounds a lot like myself. Expect I'm a lot better at hiding the fact I sell drugs to children. Or at least I was till I told you." Gypsy cracked herself, giving a small snort and a goodhearted laugh. Shit. Man, please don't get mad. She pat the table coming down to a small giggle, unable to control herself. "I'm kidding. I'm really kidding. I swear I don't sell drugs to kids."

She smiled and took a sip of her drink. She quickly contemplated what to tell the girl about where she lived. "I, uh, live downtown in the Monarch Apartments. You know, those really big ones. I've gotten lost a million times in the place. Fortunately I've got some roommates to help me around." She said.

Gypsy was leaving out quite a bit about her living situation, but Amethyst didn't need to know about it till she could be trusted to keep it to herself. She hoped she hasn't made the girl upset. Expressions were useless to her, so unless someone was crying or their tone was off, she wouldn't be able to tell if someone was upset or not.

message 71: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst felt her face drop, but immediately began to shake her head, biting down a laugh as she playfully slapped Gypsy's hand, "You dweeb. You say 'to kids', is that a tricky way of saying you sell to adults?" She wiggled her eyebrows, and felt ridiculous, knowing that Gypsy couldn't see, "Just in case, I just wiggled my eyebrows at you. Ya know, I use a lot of facial expression. Should I voice them from now on?" Amethyst stated sarcastically, unable to keep herself from giggling.

But before she could continue she gasped, "No way no way no way!" She gripped her phone to keep her from throwing her hands up, "Gypsy! I live in Monarch Apartments! How did we not bump into eachother on the way here? What floor do you live on?" She shook her head, "Sorry, I ramble so much, but seriously. You must have left super early."

She tilted her head to the side and relaxed back in her chair, sliding her phone back into her purse and placing her hands in her lap. Thankfully, she didn't need her phone to act as her crutch. "How long have you lived there though? I've been there for a few months and I haven't ever seen you." Amethyst shrugged dug into her purse, pulling out a bottle of lotion with her favorite scent. It was a sweet, soft smell. She dotted it into her hand and rubbed it into her skin delicately.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments The smell from Amethyst's lotion would have made Gypsy's ears flutter if they had the strength to.
"No, I don't sell drugs." She laughed faintly, "I'd be horrible at it."
The idea was rediculous. She hated paper money and saw no point in putting value in grubby paper, god knows how many people have touched, then trading it for an actual item of value. If she were to really be a drug dealer, she could take credit cards, but that was also a bit rediculous.

"Really?" Gypsy wasn't as excited as Amethyst wad, though she showed an amused smile. "I live on the 9th floor, but we've- uh, I'VE only been there for a couple of months. The city isn't new to me though."

She moved the straw around in her drink. She had a few more questions for the girl to carry on the conversion- but the anxiety wad eating her away inside. She wanted to know if Amethyst was interested in her or not. "You wanna catch a cab together?" She said, looking forward to being in the back seat of a car, alone with the girl.

message 73: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments "I'm on the fifth." Amethyst observed the girl's smile, her heart fluttering as butterflies erupted in her stomach. She imagined running up nine stairs instead of five. The building had an elevator, but it was old and terrifying and she avoided it at all costs. The first day she moved in, she'd gotten stuck in it while trying to move her stuff in - and had conveniently forgotten her phone as well.

Amethyst shook her hair out and finally tossed it into a messy bun, listening to Gypsy. She noted the "we" but didn't think much of it, though she wondered what her roommate was like. Almost everyone had one. Well except her.

"That would be fantastic. Hopefully, we'll be seeing a lot more of each other." Amethyst smiled, pulling herself up out of the chair and throwing the strap of her purse over her shoulder.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments "Yeah. Catch a movie or something." When she heard Amethyst stand and feel the floor vibrate a little beneath her feet she stood as well. "We don't have to take a cab together." She assured the girl, "I just don't like waking in the city alone." She said.

She hoped the girl would rather accept her offer or be on her way quickly. Gypsy didn't want Amethyst to see her shuffle around the cafe like an idiot. Getting in was a trick, and without assistance, getting out would be just as hard.
She found their relationship to be in a very grey area. Amethyst seemed to be strait, and not just that, but she just broke up with her boyfriend.
Gypsy wad hoping for a relationship but she couldn't tell if this new girl was just really nice, or if she actually liked hat back. It all felt a bit giddy and childish and she couldn't understand why.

message 75: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst immediately reached out looped her arm with Gypsy's, the action almost instinctive as she wanted to help.
"Is this okay?" She asked, but didn't take too much into account considering she had already looped their arms. Suddenly, she realized how nice the girl smelled, her fresh scent brushing against her, her soft skin flicking against her fingers.

"But, we could totally go catch a movie. Know anything good? You're not getting rid of me so easily." She laughed lightly, "That is, of course, if you want to hangout more. We could do anything. I haven't explored the city that much." Amethyst shrugged, also noticing Gypsy's crisp tone, much different from her own accent. She had a hint of southern in her, but not too much, not too thick.

"We don't have to take a cab if you want to walk. But we can, though." Amethyst bit down on her bottom lip, she'd never ridden in a cab before, and she couldn't help but feel ridiculous about that. She wanted nothing more than to know what Gypsy was thinking in that moment. With her.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, "Yes, thank you." She said in regards to Amethyst taking her ate add they walked out together. Gypsy didn't rig on the girl much add they walked, but found that her new friend was an excellent escort. She hated using her cane. She hated her glasses too. And most of all, she hated the contacts in her eyes. Oh man, they're getting dry.

Gypsy soon stood with hey on the sidewalk, now able to comment in their conversation. "It's better to walk the city at night when the breeze is cool and people aren't in such a fish." She said. People seemed to walk around them at warp speed now that everyone wad out shopping and running errands. "Let's go catch a movie. I'll pay. Do you mind if we take a cab?"
Gypsy wouldn't typically mind walking, but with a new person she barely knew, she didn't want to take the chance of playing real-life Frogger, or getting lost somewhere. She listened at all the sounds, focusing in and out of the conversion. Her natural scatter brain ranged all around the place at this point.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments "Yes, yes, absolutely." Amethyst bit down on her lip as they emerged into the street filled with people, she nudged through the crowd, leading Gypsy to the edge of the sidewalk as her wide eyes searched the streets for a cab.
"I'm going to be honest with you Gypsy." She squeezed her arm close to her side, smiling lightly as she shook her head, knowing that the girl couldn't see her though, "I've never taken a cab before do I just stick my hand out and wave them down? Or do I like, stick out my thumb like a hitchhiker?"

Nervous giggles fluttered from Amethyst's mouth as she continued to search the car, "And no way am I letting you pay for me." She finally set her eyes on what looked like a cab. Do I wave them down? do I hitch hike? She felt a nasty feeling in her stomach, but decided to stay positive. She felt as though she was being ridiculous in front of Gypsy.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy raised her eyebrows, "You've never taken a cab before?" She smiled faintly and nudged Amethyst playfully, wondering why she Was holding on so tight. "Just jump out in front of the next taxi that drives by. That's the best way to catch their attention." She joked then snorted softly with a laugh and nudged Amethyst again, "I'm kidding. Just stick your thumb out. We're by the edge of the sidewalk aren't we?"

Without her cane, Gypsy couldn't quite tell where they stood on the sidewalk. With so many people walking around, her detection of where she stood wad thrown off a little.
She smiled softly, facing the road. Her laugh wad a bit corky, always starting with a small snort then a goodhearted laugh, never meant to hurt anyone.

Really not very many people know how they work." She laughed lightly, attempting to calm her thumping heart. A taxi whizzed by and she shook

"You know, I might get a scooter. I could run people over on the sidewalk, not have to walk, and, and I wouldn't have to run after cabs or buses." Amethyst lifted her other hand and finally locked eyes with someone, "Okay okay, don't forget about the step down." She adjusted herself and opened the door, letting go of Gypsy's arm to go behind her, gently touching her waist and nudging her toward the right direction.

"Sorry, I'm not a people person." She whispered, "I'm bad at this."

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments "You're fine." Gypsy laughed faintly. Southern. Is she religious?
She reached out, feeling the hood of the car, then climbed into the back seat, scooting over to make room for Amethyst. She couldn't tell if Amethyst was flirting or nudging her towards the taxi that was obviously right in front of her.

She sat in the seat and was wafted by the smell of MANY air fresheners. When Amethyst got on the car, the cab driver turned around, "You caught me on a good day. Evening Gypsy. Where can I take you and your lady friend?"

Gypsy grinned widely at the sound of the man's voice. She knew almost every cab driver in the city. One of the joys of taking the cab was hearing the cab driver's accent; few of them were from america, and this man in particular had a rich Nigerian accent.
"Take us around town. She's never been I'm a cab before. Oh and stop by a corner store. We're going to the movies too. This is my friend Amethyst." Gypsy reached over, taking Amethyst's hand and pulled her over to the middle seat so they sat right never to each other.

The Nigerian man smiled kindly at Amethyst and reached out his hand for a shake, "It's nice to meet you Amethyst. I'm Louis."

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst watched as Gypsy slid into the backseat and breathed out, relaxing her shoulders slightly as she climbed in after the girl. The door shut behind her and she jumped at the sound of it startling. She was just about to pull the seatbelt around her when she noticed the conversation that had been ignited around her. A small smile nudged her cheeks as Gypsy reached over for her and pulled her closer, a blush following her smile. The warmth from her hands made Amethyst's heart jump.

"Louis! It's very nice to meet you." Amethyst snapped to reality and nonchalantly returned the man's handshake, leaning back and nudging Gypsy, "So, I have almost no experience with taxis and here you are knowing all the cab drivers." She shook her head, "Now, now." She giggled lightly.

Breathing in, the deep aroma of the cab flared her nostrils. It wasn't exactly unpleasant, but it was very overwhelming, the scents melding and overlapping each other with strength. At least, it was clean smelling instead of something like cigarette smoke. The thought of the smell of smoke made her want to gag - which she easily shoved into the back of her mind. That wasn't something to think about now.

Instead, Amethyst clicked her seatbelt and slid her hands down her thighs, glancing over at Gypsy with a smile. She realized, then, that she could look at Gypsy and the girl would never know. The thought made Amethyst feel wrong, like she was stealing glimpses of her beauty, or looking in two-sided mirror.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments When the cab began to move, the conversation was overt and the ride had officially began.
Gypsy didn't bother with a seat belt add she continued to hold Amethyst's hand, unaware of the girl's lingering eyes.

There were a lot of things Gypsy was not aware of our would not be able to understand. She did not mind this sort of oblivion, but she never liked it when people trotted to explain it to her. She had some association when people spoke of color: red-fire, blue-ocean, grey-rain, brown-coffee. She still felt detached though sometimes, but tried not to let it too deep under her skin.

She shifted in her seat towards Amethyst after seeing down her things, "Can I do something? If may be a little weird, but you can say no..."
The rumble of the cab did not phase her anymore; it was no longer unnerving like when she was little, or numbing like when she got older- she now barely noticed it.

She wanted to feel Amethyst's face. Though her favorite part of the body was the hands with their wrinkles and texture- the face still seemed to hold significance. The face explained a lot and Gypsy would still have to remind herself this constantly, always having to think to smile or frown.
More than that though, Gypsy wanted to kiss the girl badly. She was fixed in this puppy love, and though she knew it was silly, she loved it just as much.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst bit down on her lower lip as the cab began to move. Her eyes averted from Gypsy to the window, a blush settling on her cheeks as she felt herself wanting to linger. She wondered what it was like for Gypsy, but before she could truly think about it, Gypsy moved in her seat.

"What is it?" Amethyst wondered about, tilting her head to the side as she returned her attention to her. She had faced her, and Amethyst's face felt as though it were on fire. The position reminded her so much of their kisses from the night before.

Regardless, Amethyst shoved her thoughts away and removed her seatbelt. It was weird to do this, rebellion was never apart of her agenda at home. The most she'd ever done was drink underage - try some pot, but it wasn't anything that got her into trouble. She squeezed Gypsy's hand as she faced the girl, somehow managing to curl her legs into the seat.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments "N-nothing." Gypsy said, second guessing herself. Asking to feel Amethyst's face in the back of a moving cab could be a little weird. She decided to hold it off for a while but she still had to know something else. "It's nothing."

She flopped the girls' hands on her thigh a couple times then smiled sweetly. "So I know you just broke up with your boyfriend- but, is this a date?" She asked, wanting desperately to know.
If Amethyst said no, she wasn't sure that she would be totally heartbroken, but she didn't think she'd want to see Amethyst much after this day. She was a bit hopeful but didn't want it to show in her voice, even though it did.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst settled back in her seat, biting down on her bottom lip as she shook her head. "A-are you sure?" She asked, but didn't get an answer as Gypsy bounced her hand on her thigh a couple of times. The motion made a little slapping noise that made Amethyst want to giggle, but she ignored it and allowed the girl to continue doing what she was dong.

And then Gypsy smiled and Amethyst turned to face the girl, feeling as though she had something to say. As the question left her mouth, Amethyst averted her eyes to their hands, her cheeks on fire. Her heart began to race and she couldn't truly think of anything to say - her thoughts whirling around in her head. Was this a date?
Oh Hell

Amethyst leaned forward and placed her hand over Gypsy's, stopping the bouncy motion, "Gypsy. I - I don't think so." She breathed out, her chest heavy, "It's just, I just broke up with my boyfriend and truly, I'm a mess of a person. You'll see. Trust me. That is, if you still want to be my friend." Amethyst searched Gypsy for an expression, or for rejection, "We do live in the same building though," She tilted her head to the side and attempted to lighten the mood, "So it would be pretty hard to avoid me."

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy gained a look faint disappointment though had really expected add much. She smiled weakly towards Amethyst's intent and gave a small nod, "Yeah you're right." She said, "I'm kind of naturally a mess." She teasingly pushed her shoulder against Amethyst's.

She didn't want to dwell and became as cheerful as she could be. "We do still have to be friends." She agreed then squeezed the girl's hand affectionately.

Soon the cab stopped and Gypsy turned her attention to Louis. "Left or right?" She asked, referring to which side the corner store would be on.
"Your side." He replied.
Gypsy parted her hand from Amethyst's and opened the door, "Come on. We're getting snacks for the movies." She said and climbed out.

Stepping out of the car, Gypsy's feet were a bit squeezed where she stood between the cab and the side walk. She whipped out her cane and pat the end against the ground, finding the ledge of the side walk, then stepped up and waited patiently for Amethyst. She wasn't embarrassed by her cane anymore, even though she wasn't very fond of it.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst felt herself wash with relief, finally breathing out quietly as she averted her eyes down to her knees. Before her answer, the girl had summoned up the most awful thoughts. That they wouldn't be friends or that Gypsy would hate her. Of course, this all seemed ridiculous, but in that moment, for some reason she couldn't let Gypsy go. She knew that a piece of her would be broken by it - the thought was strange, something she'd never felt before.

"Oh it's -" Amethyst snapped her mouth shut as the cab driver replied instead, and she tilted her head to watch Gypsy, she wanted more than anything to help the girl, but she knew that Gypsy could take care of herself.

"Ooh, snacks are always the best. What's your favorite?" She asked as she scooted out of the taxi and smiled at the taxi driver before shutting the door. For a moment, she began to panic - do they pay him now? Will he wait for them? She shook her head of the thoughts and moved toward the tiny store they had pulled in front of. She didn't recognize the shop, but it was cute and quirky.

"I love the shops in the city." Amethyst commented, looping her arm with Gypsy's as she moved toward it.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy tried not to grimace. Though she knew Amethyst Was only trying to be helpful, Gypsy was starting to feel like her arm was a leash. They were blown with cool air as they walking into the highly air conditioned store.

She put her cane back together and walked along Amethyst. She always like the clean smell in stores from the chemicals they used to clean the floor. She could imagine the cool, smooth tiles beneath their feet.
She gave a small laugh towards Amethyst's questions. "Well, when I've got someone with me, I like the peach rings. When I'm by myself, I just get whatever I touch first. I've tried smelling and feeling the bags of candy when I've got no one to find what I like, but it looks kind of weird. I've been kicked out of stores before for over-groping the candy before."
She continued to shuffled along side Amethyst and made their way to the snacks and things.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst groaned, "They've actually kicked you out?" She shook her head from disbelief, "That's ridiculous, I mean, who doesn't grope the candy?" She giggled lightly, letting go of Gypsy's arm to open the door for them. Afterward, she grasped Gypsy's hand and pulled them toward the snack aisle. The store was small and cute, the aisles taped with home-made signs.

"Peach rings, I'll keep that in mind." She sniffled and smiled at the worker as they passed the registers, feeling their palms touch. She stepped into the candy aisle and let go of Gypsy's hand, tilting her head to the side with contemplation, "oh my goodness, how will I ever decide. I love candy so much." Amethyst breathed out and bit on her bottom lip.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy stood, able to smell the sugar from the candy in front of her. She listened to Amethyst and tried not to show the mock that she felt. She sounds like an old lady. "How will I ever decide?" She stood, wondering if Amethyst was this way all the time; or if she was just putting on a giddy act to impress her.

"Oh. And I think we should get something for Louis too. Chocolate or something." She noted, thinking their cab driver would like that. This was also a reminder that he was waiting outside for them, and she hoped Amethyst caught on that they shouldn't take too long.

She didn't reach out to the aisle, hoping Amethyst would be collected all the good for them.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments "Oh, right right, yes." Amethyst bit down on her lower lip then immediately turned to Gypsy, "Look, I'm sorry," She blurted, "I'm really awful with socializing. And I'm especially awful at these things." She breathed out, her speech rushed and coiling together, "I'm sorry. Okay, so peach rings, chocolates, and I think I'll take sour gummy worms."

Amethyst walked them to the register and paid for the candies without hesitation, not wanting Gypsy to pay for everything.
"I just hope I'm not boring you. Or annoying you." She stated as she moved toward the door, this happened a lot. She got this little panicy feeling in her chest and wouldn't be able to stop whatever happened to burst from her lips. It didn't happen too often - considering she rarely went out of her comfort zone unless she was drunk. When she was drunk she was outgoing and as giddy as ever.

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy dragged along behind her, somewhat appauled by Amethyst's little outburst. She bumped into the door on the way out, a bit harder than she would have liked. Amethyst was having some sort of panic attack and Gypsy had no idea what the problem was.

Gypsy suddenly pulled her arm away with a bit of a jerk and pushed the door open as she walked through and onto the sidewalk. She was a bit mad now; any stress someone had would not register to her unless they told her so. "What did you do?" She said, obviously very frustrated with Amethyst, "I'm confused. Why are you apologizing? What are you awful at? We're just getting candy? I'm confused." Her head was turned with her ear towards the girl as she stood firmly directly in front of the doors. Gypsy wasn't focused on keeping her cool, though she wasn't making just of a seen yet, besides looking very lost and frustrated.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst breathed out, taken aback by Gypsy's abrupt actions. Thoughtfully, she softened her expressions and bit down on her lip, refusing to look over at the other customers or the workers incase they were staring. She felt like she was on a stage, but she knew that Gypsy wasn't looking at her. For some reason, that made her feel a little better, that the girl couldn't read her facial expressions. Though she felt like it was forever, she finally opened her mouth to speak,

"Gypsy, I just feel like I'm annoying you? Which I feel like you would tell me. But, I just," Amethyst breathed out, as though the words ran out of her, "I know I must sound ridiculous, but I don't know how to do simply things. Simply hanging out." She nervously looked over at the workers and then she bumped the door open with her butt to usher them forward.

"Let's just, forget I said anything and just have fun, deal?" Amethyst squeezed her eyes closed, she felt absolutely ridiculous.

She spoke into the air, not entirely sure where Amethyst was at the moment, "I'm sorry if I get easily frustrated. I need people to be blunt with me, or I may as well be deaf too. I really like you and I don't want you to feel nervous around me." Gypsy's slowly sighed too herself. She knew she was being a bit too open with the girl. They'd only just met, and she was already treating Amethyst like a life-long friend. Keep your cool. You're being ridiculous. Gypsy came to realize that maybe they were both being a bit dumb.

She bit down on her lower lip and lead them to the car and opened the door for the girl.

"Is it rude to ask. ." Amethyst popped down into the seat and shut the door, sliding down right next to Gypsy, "Have you always been blind?" Was she being too blunt? Amethyst tried really hard not to think about it. Blunt. She could do that? Right?

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments Gypsy steadied herself slowly as they moved on and climbed back into the taxi. Nothing had to be said as they continued on towards the movie theatre and Louis was quiet as the girls continued their conversation.

Gypsy was relieved by the change in conversation. She relaxed back in the seat and reached up, touching the black lense. "Yes, I've been blind all my life." She replied truthfully. "My mom had trouble during birth. She's dead now." She said casually then grumbled faintly, "My dad raised me though. And my mom's best friend. I don't like them very much though." Her lips thinned, thinking she may have given away too much information.
This entire evening felt like nails against chalkboard, going from one awkward conversation to the next. May as well even it out between the two of them though.
"So what about you and your parents?" She asked.

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1027 comments Amethyst bit down on her lower lip and averted her eyes out the window.
"Gypsy. . I'm sorry." She whispered, her voice low as a whimper, and she hoped for a moment that the girl didn't hear her. She wished they were in a private place - talking in her apartment. So she could hug the girl.

As the taxi driver whipped in and out of the traffic of downtown she thought about Gypsy's question and decided to answer as truthfully as the girl had herself, "Well, I moved here to avoid my parents, you know? Escape them, rather. I'm originally from Georgia, as were they, and we had a lot of opposing opinions. I wanted the city life and they . . wanted me to marry a rich doctor and have lots of kids." She laughed lightly, shaking her head at the idea, "And by a lot." She giggled once again and spready Gypsy's fingers out, curling in two, "They wanted me to have at least 8."

Amethyst glanced down at Gypsy, "I'm almost positive they just wanted the kids to work on their farm. Free labor, right?"

§†êl͓̽l͓̽åꝈนຖå (fallaciousgod) | 2208 comments "What else are they good for?" Gypsy chuckled, referring to children in general. She relaxed back in her seat and pulled her fingers through her hair.
Louis was politely quiet, not listening to their conversation as low music played from the front seat.

"My family... well, they're not the family oriented type. My older brother and his girlfriend refuse to get married. Then, my dad and his boyfriend..." Gypsy began to ramble before Amethyst's phone began to buzz.

Artie sat on the other side with his phone on speaker, sitting in his apartment. "Pick up." He muttered and packed dime bags full of Italian seasoning and only a pinch of weed in each. He was an incredible cheat and made all his money on it.
