I'm also remembering all the reasons i fell for Trevor! so sweet!

I started this book and I kind of forgot the feeeels from Pivot Point :( Reading spoiler reviews hasn't helped. I think I'm going to reread Pivot Point again and then come back to Split Second !

Ooh so this time around its alternating chapters between Addie and Laila. Connor is an intriguing character I guess he'll be quite main. Laila spending time with Duke makes me think Duke is not that bad and he'll be a great help and redeem his place as a friend to Laila and Addie perhaps?
Stephanie seems like a nice character it's nice to see she isn't mean like before in pivot point's search. Love all Trevor and Addie's scenes so far!! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 19 to 21 spoilers (view spoiler)[Addie's grandpa is a bit wacky. That was a strange but a little funny chapter where he had a fridge box as a safe area to talk. OMG and when Addie did a search one leading to Trevor nearly kissing her and the other where he was annoyed and she chose the second path I was so disappointed. What a heart tugging moment. Seems like Laila is interested in Connor and I'm kind of enjoying both POVs equally now :) (hide spoiler)]

I thought I would be happy when Addie recovers her memory but she's all the more saddened when she realises that she will bear the memory of loving Trevor alone while Trevor is clueless about everything. (view spoiler)[Hmm this book is giving me different feelings from Pivot Point. The characters use their powers much more here. For example Trevor got his memories wiped by some authorities but Laila too easily restores them. The use of their abilities aren't monitored... At the back of my mind I'm always thinking 'what if' these kids actually used these powers for bad things? No one would be stopping them if they had no clue what the kids were up to! (Thinking about it, Duke has already abused hid power in helping his teammates injure other football players. Shouldn't someone have intervened?) The focus on the characters' powers are introducing a lot of questions about the Compound. Rather than having low crime rate, wouldn't people abuse their power and the crime rate actually be higher? Anyway, I am enjoying the developing of Addie's and Trevor's and Laila and Connor's relationships. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Happy ending yay~ Fake grandpa was so unexpected! It was a bit quirky for the DAA to carry out that sort of plan to reveal Addie's intentions. All this time she was angry at her father when he hadn't been hiding anything from her. Like I said earlier, I don't know what to feel about the characters using their powers so easily to 'fix' things like how Connor healed Trevor in the end and how Laila restores everyone's memories when she wants... All in all I loved the characters but Split Second was focused more on the abilities/power a lot lot more than Pivot Point and it was a lot to take in. (hide spoiler)]

I started this. 6 chapters read so far.
What I really like about this character is how real her characters feel. Really, she's good at developing them from stereotypes into real ones. Addie is not just the good girl and Laila is not just a sassy best friend. XD

Yeah, in the last book, it was split between the Addie who was seeing what would happen if she moved with her dad, and the other Addie who was seeing what would happen is she didn't.

Leila is not the best of judges most of the time. She was suborn and made mistakes in the first book, she's doing the same here. I think she was scared that whatever was in that letter will ruin her friendship with Addie, that was already crumbling. (hide spoiler)]
