Ruby shook her head at Blake. "Blake a friend doesn't leave a friend knowing that they don't like being left alone." She hissed. "You left me just as easily as Nick threatened it. Your not a friend. Your an elder. It was my mistake for trusting you as much as I trusted Nick." Ruby had some major trust issues that wasn't no secret and she rarely let people in and when those people hurt her it was like a knife in the back.

Emily nodded her head a little bit hoping that it didn't come to that.

"I told you why I left. It was for your safety along with Nicks. And if you can't believe that by taking my word. I can show you that it's the truth. Did I want to walk away from you? No. But it was the best thing I could of done when I did it." He was prepared to show her just how much he was telling the truth if it came to that.



Grace nodded, finishing with getting everything together. "Can you pull up your shirt for me? I need to do a scan, first." That would be the first steep if nothing came up she'd try a different test.

"You don't leave your friends when they need you no matter what the cost is." Ruby said softly. " You and Nick both have excuses on why you did what you did. You both want me just to be okay with it. I needed you and you ignored me. I needed my friend, but he wasn't there." Ruby snapped at him. "I needed him and he failed me that's why I'm upset not because you left."

Convince her to get rid of the baby Blake. A human baby born of a vampire and a Royal Vampire Elder will give birth to a human that's very powerful. There's a reason we killed the last one Blake. You must make sure the baby is killed before the birth. If the wrong person get their hands on Ruby and the baby both of them will be lost to the darkness. The baby can be easily persuaded either way. Blake convince her now if you can't convince her then we will The oldest elder snapped at Blake in his head.

Blake knew that she was right. Although he had left for the reason he had told her. To save her life. That was it. And no one informed him when she had gotten her memories back so he had stayed away longer then he had needed to. Hearing the oldest Elder in his head saying that he had to convince her to get rid of the baby. The baby he had just sworn to her that he would protect. So how could he even try and start to do as the Elder was asking him to do without sounding like a two faced lair? But that he could always try and talk out with her, unlike she'd be able to do with the older elders. Seeing as they just wanted the child dead. Letting out a breath and dropping down on the bed to sit. For once feeling his age. "I'm sorry, truly I am... but if you'd give me the permission to show you why I wasn't there when you needed me, I think it would fill in a lot of holes."


Grace went about covering Emily's clothes so that the jelly stuff didn't get on her. "Okay, this is going to be a little cold.." then put some of the jelly like stuff on her belly and started up the meichain that would show her what was going on.

"I don't care why Blake. That fact is you ignored me every time I tried contacting you. So stop it with the reason you left. Nothing's going to change the fact that you left and didn't answer me. You can't justify not ignoring me for the reason you left." she hissed. "You ignored me Blake, that has nothing to do with why you left. Just leave and don't come back. That's what your good at right." Ruby blinked out.

Blake shook his head. "No, Ruby... what I'm good at is fixing problems. And fixing past mistakes that I've made. I can understand why you're mad at me, and I should of been there for you when you needed me. And I can't even began to tell you how sorry I am that I wasn't. But, please believe me when I tell you this: It was all for your safety. And you will need my assistance in the coming months," He didn't mean it as a threat. He meant it as a warning. Seeing as if he couldn't convince her to get rid of the baby growing inside of her he feared The Elders, older then himself wouldn't give her the choose of keeping the baby or getting rid of it. They would simply elemate it.



Grace looked over what showed on the screen. Felling her eyebrows come together as something showed up that looked like a small. Very small human- or in this case werewolf child- starting to form in her. But how in the world could that be? She knew that Emily had no reason to lie to her about what her and Nate had done. And she had known Emily for a couple years now and they had become close. Moving the thing around on her belly to see what else she could see.

Ruby didn't hear what he said didn't care she had a baby to prepare for. She walked around the nursery and snapped her fingers to clear most of Avery's things to her space. Her space was like a magical suitcase where she could put things in or make random things appear to. It was a mistake to contact Blake.

Emily frowned. "What's wrong?"

Blake looked around as Ruby started moving around the nursery and clearing things. As if it was nothing, and he hadn't just said something to her. Letting out a breath as he watched. Finally going over and resting a hand on her arm to get her to stop. "Ruby, stop... Just stop for a minute. Okay?"


Grace looked at Emily when she asked what was wrong. Glancing to the screen again then saying. "I, Emily.... I don't know how to tell you this. Considering you and Nate haven't done anything. But--- your pregnant." She said unsure how to go about this.

Ruby looked at him and shook her head. "I told you to go away." she snapped. "I don't want anything to do with you." Tears ran down her face backing away. "I want you gone." Ruby hissed at him. "I hate you."

"Can you get rid of it?" Emily asked softly.

"Stop, just stop.. you can hate me all you want. But your going to need my help rather you like it or not." He told her seeing as she hadn't heard him the first time and it seemed like a better idea to get right to the point instead of beating around the bush with this. Maybe she'd be willing to listen although even then there was a chance that she would just tell him to get lost anyways.



Grace thought for a moment considering their options on how to go about doing that. But first she needed to fugier out how her friend had gotten pregnant in the first place seeing as she and her mate hadn't done anything. "It's possible that we could do an abortion if you want to do one. But before we start talking about that, too much... We need to figure out how you became pregnant without doing anything with Nate to cause it."

"I said go Blake." Ruby's voice got really low and dark. "I want you to leave now. If you don't leave now I will scream for Nick to say I'm being attack, by someone who looks like you. I want you out of my house, now I will not need your help any time soon so leave. " The power in the atmosphere changed dramatically. He kept using it was for her saftey excuse she didn't care why he left he left.

Emily shook her head. "No get rid of the baby now."

Blake looked around the room, as if taking in something no one else would be able to feel, or hear. Sensing the change. Not just in the room it's self but in her. Something in her was changing, and it wasn't just because of the baby. Then looked back to her as if seeing her for the first real time. "Okay-- I'll go. But don't hesitate to call for help if you need too." He told her, backing up slowly. Almost as if he thought she would attack him if he didn't go slow, before turning for the door.



Grace bit her lip, looking back to the screen. It made no sense, none. This shouldn't be possible. Seeing as she didn't get anything for like birth control. Expect for pills and those she only got refilled every four months. And that was due to mating season and not being ready for kids. And she wasn't an expert so to be honest-- she didn't really know how to get rid of it. "I'm going to have to send you to a specialist, Em.. I can just give the tests and assign things for colds, and help with the birthing part. But, to get rid of it, now... I don't know how to do that. I'm sorry. I might be able to figure it out, if I even knew how to start to explain how you are in the first place, considering everything you've told me."

Ruby backed away towards the bed. Tears fell down her face as she looked up at him walk away. Why couldn't things go right for her once in her life? She just wanted her Nick back the person who wouldn't do that to her.

Avery awakened and notice that Blake was here. She ran towards him. "Uncle Blake. I missed you. Mommy and daddy are very different Uncle Blake can you fix them."

"I can just go to a human clinic." Emily shrugged her shoulders.

For someone of Avery's age she was very smart and noticed a lot more then a kid her age should. Kneeling down ad holding out his arms for a hug. "I missed you too, kido. I'm working on it sweetie," He told her, seeing as she was like her mother in that way, she could pick up a lie when she heard one. And despite what Ruby thought he really did want the best for her and her family. Regardless of what the child she was barring now ended up being.


Grace nodded her head thinking. It could work, the only thing was how was she going to explain to the doctor that she ended up with that she didn't mean to have the child in the first place. And now she wanted it gone? "Okay, but you'll need a story. Have Nate go with you if you can, and if not I'd be willing to go with you, for the support part." Grace told her still confused on how in the world this could even be possible. Swallowing back the slight fear of asking this question but sucked it up anyways. Because it had to be asked. "And Em,--- I don't think you'd do this, or anyone else in this pack would. But, I still need to ask. When the war was still going on and I was gone and Eva was in my place as the Alpha Female..... Could anyone have slept with you? Besides Nate that is. Could anyone have drugged you without you knowing? I'm just asking because you've already comfired that you and Nate haven't done anything and the two of you don't want kids yet. I'm just looking for some reason for this to be happening just in case the people at the clinic call or email me asking to comfirm information."

Avery glanced at Blake. "Uncle Blake whatever is happening to mommy isn't suppose to happen. It will die, but there will be another one after mommy and daddy get fixed." Avery said softly.


Emily shot a glance at Grace. "I know you weren't here during this whole thing, but Eva was good to the females and kids. I think that was her soft spot. She also gave most of the males including Will choices. Sadly the males got addicted to that choice."

Blake frowned slightly, not completely understanding what Avery meant. Did she unknowingly mean that the child inside Ruby would die but they would end up having another one anyways? Or was it something--- else. Something that he hadn't thought of but she knew because she'd seen it in a dream or something. "What do you mean there'll be another one? " He asked wanting to know. "Yes, I'm helping them to feel better, so that they'll be back to themselves again."



Well it was nice to know even a stuck up like Eva could have a soft spot. If they'd known that then they could of used it against her. But pushed that off to the side. "I'm glad that she at least treated you and the kids right... but.--- what kinds of chooses?" Even if she wasn't here for the war when she should of been but had no other chose at the time.. she had a feeling that she knew what kind of chose she had given them. And if she was right.. it would not only explain a lot. It would also explain why Emily was barring a child that she didn't make herself.

"No Uncle Blake there's going to be another one. This one is going to die, because Mommy and Daddy aren't better and won't be better for awhile." Avery paused. "Can I go play now?"

"Actually tons she really liked Will and some of the things he chose wasn't the wolvesbane as he would like you and the others to be." Emily paused. "I said too much"

Blake nodded still not completely understanding but he'd figure it out. "Yeah, you can go play now.." He told her then turned to go talk to Nick and Ruby. Hopefully they'd agree to at least be in the same room while they talked so that he didn't have to go over the whole thing twice.



Grace nodded slowly. That-- at least to her. Didn't make much sense considering she wasn't here. But, she also felt sure that she could put two and two together. Seeing as it wasn't always the wolvesbane like he wanted everyone to think. And she was willing to bet she liked Will a lot because she knew that if she came back sooner. It would hurt her, and she'd view it as some sort of twisted pay back or whatever. Letting out a breath as she leaned against a table.

Avery ran off into her room and started to play with her toys.

Ruby looked down and wiped her tears away and sighed. "I'm done with this." She heard a loud crash from behind her and fell down. The person behind her blinked out of the room. He injected with a high dose of holy water to attempt to kill her and the baby.

Emily looked down. "I should go."

Blake watched as she ran off to go play. She was so incident, sometimes he forgot that; that was possible. Frowning and then running down stairs already seeing Nick running in from the study to find out what happened. Reaching the kitchen door way just as Nick got in and caught Ruby.


Nick had heard the crash in the kitchen and thinking the worse had run out and to the kitchen within a second. Seeing someone vanishing and Ruby looking about ready to pass out. Flashing over and catching her just as her knees went out from underneath her.


Grace didn't want to let Em go and end on this note but she was looking a bit-- spooked. Almost. And she wouldn't be able to get anything more out of her even if she tried. Nodding. "Okay-- talk to you later. And tell Neil about going to the clinic.. the sooner you do the better."

Avery played with her dolls. She obviously heard the crash and she knew what was happening. There was no need to panic everything was going to be okay.


Ruby knew what hit her when it entered her stream. Who ever injected her must have no realized that she can't be killed because Holy Water wasn't going to do anything to her, but the baby. For some reason she was okay if this baby died, because she didn't want to bring it into this world with Nick being the way he was.




Emily looked at Grace confused on why she called Neal, Nate. "Are you feeling okay Grace?" she asked slowly.

Nick carried her into the living room and placed her on the couch to let her rest. Looking at Blake as he came in to join him. "She going to be okay?" He asked worried. Although he didn't know what had been injected into her.


Blake walked into the living room once Nick had laid her out on the couch to rest. Going and touching her forehead gently to get a read on her, then nodded. "Yes. She'll be fine.... it was holy water but it wont affect her the same it would you or any other vampire now that she's an elder. It effects us differently. The reaction isn't as bad. But--- the baby on the other hand-- it might very well kill."


Nick had known that she was pregnant but he hadn't heard rather it was human or vampire. Seeing as it was slim to none that they'd have a human child with two vampire parents but because he was a bitten it was possible. But very unlikely. Swallowing back his fear for his child so that he could think. "Is there-- is there any way to save it? The child I mean?" He asked.



Grace hadn't realized she'd misspoke when calling Emily's mate by the wrong name. Shaking her head to clear it. "Yeah, just misspoke... long day. I think I'm going to try and grab a nap before I start helping with dinner. You going to be okay?" She asked her hopefully.

Ruby felt sweat coming down her face and moaned in pain. It stung so bad. She felt Nicks presence. No he had to go she didn't want him near her. Her eyes scanned the room. "Blake get him out of here." She felt her eyes fluttered shut again.

Emily looked at her "Grace you need to rest." Emily said softly.

Nick frowned slightly but nodded. Looking down when she woke slightly just to ask Blake to get him out of the room. Nodding. "It's okay- I'll go. I don't like it. But, if she wants me to go--" He said unsure how he felt about that. Sense she was hurting.


Blake looked at her then gave the slightest nod to Nick. "Okay- but stay close. She may need you after she recovers some." He told him. Then went and leaned down on a knee next to her. Placing a calming hand on her head. "You'll be okay, in a bit.. I'm going to get you some water to start with then you'll need some blood. The water will help cool you down."



Between the long shifts that she'd put herself on here in the clinic, the helping out with so many house hold chores and the long nights with next to no sleep these past couple of weeks it was no wonder she had misspoke. She was running herself ragged. Casting Emily a warm look. "I will. Promise. Just, take care of yourself. And if anything changes don't hesitate to come see me."

Ruby shook her head no. "I don't want him after this. I maybe injected with Holy Water, but I don't want Nick. Unless if he is going to back the man I fell for, but he isn't now." She hissed softly at Blake. "Fine do whatever you have to. Just get started now."

"No, Grace I'm serious." Emily said. "You need to take care of yourself too."

Blake sighed going and getting the water from the kitchen and coming back holding it for her while she drank it. Speaking softly. "If this is about the baby--- he couldn't of known. It's extremely rare that two vampire parents even a bitten in will end up having a human child. He may be different right now, but. He wants things to work out. No mater how hard it is to believe." He told her gently pulling the cup away when she pushed it.


Grace nodded. "I know, and I'm trying. I'm going to go take a nap now. Seeing as I need one. But I also don't want you to think you can't come to me if something extram changes." She told her, checking the time. Then said: "Now, if you don't mind, I'd really like that nap, and you should be getting back."

"This isn't about the baby I don't care if it lives or dies right at this moment. I will not have another child with Nick. He's not going to change and I'm done trying to make him seeing where I'm coming from." She hissed softly. "I'm just done." she whispered softly.

Emily shook her head. "Grace this isn't a game. You and I both know you aren't going to take a nap you are going to do other chores and around here. To make others think you are worth the Alpha Female status. You let everyone walk over you and you can't even say no to some things." Emily said.

Blake let out a deep sigh. A deep heavy sigh. As if he'd known this was coming. Even if it hadn't been foretold. Sitting on the coffee table across from her. "Rest. Then we can talk about this when your feeling more up to it." He told her not to anger her. But he was worried about her.


Grace had been planning on taking a nap. A real long nap with hopefully no interruptions. Seeing as she hadn't slept more then two hours the night before. Rubbing at her eyes as Emily went on to talk to her. This was a nightmare. At this point would it really be that bad if she steeped aside and let him replace her? Let someone else be the female alpha? As in permitialy this time? She had considered it. But had never brought it up to anyone before because she didn't want them to start talking and that leading to challenges. Along with Will how he was he needed someone by his side to help him when he needed it. But even he had pushed her aside in his own way. She didn't want to but if she did step aside she'd leave seeing as she wouldn't be able to stay. Maybe join a different pack or go back to her old one if they'd have her. Shaking her head in frustration. Then looked at Emily. "Emily. Go. I need that nap. And I wasn't lying. I wasn't planning on doing anything besides sleeping, hopefully without any interruptions."

"Blake you're right we are done talking about it for good. He is no longer going to be in life. I have tried countless times before Avery was born after she was born. For five years I have tried so hard for us.I am done with him." Ruby looked down. "I'm done crying over him. I can't force someone to fight for us."

Emily left the room and sighed. Grace was tired she could see that she also saw how everyone walked over her. Grace kept doing it with no questions like she had to prove her worth or something.

Blake rubbed at his face and eyes. He had so many things coming at him form different desertions and some of them he couldn't even tell Ruby about. Because it was top secret. Then looked at her again after a few beats. "Fine. But you need to be the one to tell him. And you know that once you do and two work some agreement out-- you can date others. But it could be years maybe even longer until you find a mate again. " he told her wanting her to completely understand what this meant. Seeing as with vampires you got one mate. And if you didn't change them or they ended up dying. It could take years or much, much longer then that. Sometimes even longer then a certery to find there next mate.



Grace sighed and went to her office to lay down on the cot. It wasn't as comfortable as the bed upstairs in her room that she now slept in. But in a pinch it would do. And there was no way she was walking all the way to her room when she had a cot in her office to sleep on. Pulling a blanket and sheet over herself before totally crashing. She knew that she took on too much sometimes. And she did it to save her own sanity. Seeing as sometimes she thought she'd go completely mad without anything to do. And she did it because she felt like she had to prove herself. She might be the Alpha female but-- she'd sensed the change in every one after the war. And she'd felt threatened. As if they judged her behind her back because she didn't run things the same way as Eva had. That's why she taking on too many things at once and doing so much. She felt like she had to prove something to them. And maybe even herself. Letting a breath out in her sleep.

Ruby looked at him. "I never said I want to change my mate." She hissed sitting up getting up from the couch. "I don't even want you here either. I told you to leave." she noticed the blood on the couch and sighed knowing what that meant. The baby didn't make it. Part of her felt very sad the other part felt confused unsure of what to think about everything right at this very moment. She snapped out clothes and into something new. "Nick doesn't want me anymore."

"I just wanted you to know, what it means. I never said you wanted a change in mates. Nor would I seeing as that is not my part to say or otherwise. Very well, I'll go. Again. But if you need me, I'll be close so don't hesitate to call." He told her standing seeing the blood on the couch but then she'd changed into new clothes in a snap of a finger.


Nick had been listening in a little bit to what was being said. Just in case he was needed. Or wanted. But clearly she thought nothing of him anymore. If that was what she wanted. Slowly starting to feel himself go a bit mad. Trying to pull it back but it wasn't possible. They'd vowed to stay together. Even if they hadn't gotten married. They might of well have. And now just because they didn't see everything eye to eye anymore. And he had never said he didn't care about her. She wanted all of it to end. He'd let her keep Avery. It wasn't because he didn't love his daughter. He did. Whole hardheartedly but he also knew that Ruby would be broken hearted if he took her. Maybe they could work something out so that he could see her on weekends. Walking out to where Blake and Ruby were still.

"Blake he doesn't want to try." She whispered. "I'm never going to love again. Nick isn't the person who I fell for." Ruby looked down shaking. "I just want the one person I fell for, but I'm never going to have it." Maybe she was over reacting a little, but she felt like she tried so hard so many times with Nick and he didn't.

Nick leaned against the wall and listened. Shaking his head slightly. This was redcuous. Rubbing at his eye balls again. Feeling his sanity slowly start chipping away.


Blake hadn't seen this story play out before. Seeing as in all their past lives together one or the other had died before they had gotten together. Or when things were starting to get serous. So he didn't know how it would play out if they split up. And she couldn't really say that. Just because he never had didn't mean that she wouldn't one day. Sitting down next to her on the couch now. Pulling out a card from his pocket and handing it to her. "I was going to give this to you as a birthday present, next week but-- I think you need it now. Go. Enjoy yourself. Relax. It'll get your mind off of things. Promise."

Ruby shook her head. "I don't want this." she whispered softly looking down. She looked to Nick and blinked. "What do you want it's not like you care about me anymore." The question racing in her mind was what went wrong with them? She thought she tried so hard with everything, but maybe she didn't. Maybe she was never meant to have true love. That could be a little melodramtic though.

Blake put the card back in his pocket, he'd try giving it to her again some time. Maybe it would bring some of her sanity back so that she wasn't all depressed and down all the time. Even if she didn't want it right now. Then looked to Nick. He could sense something from him but he couldn't quit put his finger on it. Studying him instead trying to nail it down.



Nick shook his head, as he bounced up from the place he'd been leaning against the wall. "If I didn't care I wouldn't still be here. If I didn't care I would of walked away already. Instead I've stayed. Do you know how many freaking girls I've dumped just because I didn't want to deal with their crap anymore? Tons." He'd finally cracked. Or at least partly. The rest though was sure to come flooding out now though.

Ruby looked at him sensing something off. "If you did care you wouldn't use something against me like that." She snapped. "I know I'm disposable don't you think I know that? Don't you think I realized that. Oh yeah because men I always give up so easily on relationships, because something becomes too hard. Forgive me for going through a lot when we got together. Blake looked between the two of them. Coming to a very troubling conclusion on what was wrong with Nick. He'd lost control and now he was lashing out. Because he didn't know any better and he never had before now. And Ruby getting angry would just cause Nick's temper to rise even more. Looking to Ruby, and clearing his throat. "Ruby-- I need a word. Now. You two can hash this out in a moment.." He told her, pointedly. Seeing as it was clear that she hadn't figured it out. And how could she? Seeing as he wasn't lashing out the same way she did. So she wouldn't know.


Nick glared. "Because you never actually taught me about your people. And you and the rest of them don't trust me enough to let me sit in on the meetings and if I do heaven forbid I make a comment on what I think the rest of you should do about something. Ruby wanted to protect Nick as much as possible and he didn't need to know that. She couldn't let nothing happen to Nick. "Go ahead believe whatever you want." Ruby looked down. "When you're ready to talk to me I will be upstairs. I'm done arguing with you. Our daughter doesn't deserve to hear this." She sighed. "I know I'm not perfect and I made mistakes." Didn't he understand that he was her Prince Charming no matter what. She knew Nick lost control.

Tears ran down her face. "I hope you know that you are my Prince Charming no matter what. If you don't know that then I'm sorry I don't make that apparent enough"

Nick shook his head heading for the door. He needed air and time. Lot's of time maybe even. Seeing as he knew that he had lost it, and that everything he'd just said was everything he'd thought a few times over the years. He wasn't anyone's Prince Charming and he never planned on being one. Letting the door close behind him. Heading into the woods so that he would be able to run. Run around in circles. Maybe get some blood- something. Something to clam down or at least try to. Already starting to run.


Blake let out a sigh as the door shut and Nick ran out. He'd gain control back and then when he did he'd feel horrible. He knew enough about Nick to know that. Looking now to Ruby.

Ruby felt what he right away. He didn't want to be her Prince Charming she frowned some. Nick was all she ever wanted in guy and that made him her Prince. Everything he said was true too some extent. Her heart cracked a little bit. "Blake you should go. I don't have time to deal with you I need to go make Avery lunch." It wouldn't surprise her if he never came back, it wouldn't be the first time someone did that to her.

Blake looked to her when she started talking. Saying that he should go because she needed to make Avery's lunch. Letting out a breath and shaking his head. "I'll be okay here... you don't have to. I'm going to be in the training room working out for a bit so I'll be out of your way. " He told her gently knowing how hurt she was by Nick's words. And he wanted to talk to him once he returned. And if he didn't then he'd go find him so that they could talk.
